I've absolutely fallen in love with these. I previously had a pair of bluetooth on-ear headphones that I grabbed for about $60, but finally met their end after about 2-3 years of nearly constant use. Decided I would go big and upgrade to some quality noise-cancelling headphones. Wow I wish I had done so sooner. These feel fantastic to the point I sometimes forget I'm wearing them; my old headphones would begin to hurt my ears where they would push against where the arm or my glasses were, which makes sense considering they were on-ear headphones, but the quality of the 'foam' pads on the Bose headphones is far and away superior. The noise cancelling is something I always thought was a luxury for headphones, but after trying it I'm not sure I'll ever be able to go back. I sometimes just throw these on without playing music just to tune out background noise at the office. Doesn't cut out people talking or keyboards clacking, but definitely reduces the noise level. The real benefit is cutting out the sound of the AC and various hums, which suddenly sound like jet engines when I turn off the noise-cancelling. And of course can't review headphones without talking about the sound quality. I always loved the sound of my old Sony on-ear headphones, but these are next level. Everything is balanced very well, and seems as though some lower volume sounds come through a little cleaner. Incredible quality for everything I've listened to so far. I've yet to drain the battery; I have them on about 6-10 hours a day on average with high noise cancelling, and try to charge every other day if I remember. Connecting to my Android phone was a breeze, and seamless Google Assistant integration using the virtual assistant button on left ear piece. Only issue I've had was figuring out how to turn off notification sounds. Seems the only solution is to put my phone into Do Not Disturb. Being a software developer who didn't like manually doing this every time I put on my headphones, I went ahead and automated this in Tasker, which I was already using to automate setting volume anytime a bluetooth device connects/disconnects, so wasn't a huge issue for me. To conclude: these things have barely been off my head if I can help it. Everything about them is great, with exception of jumping through hoops to turn off notification sounds (group messages are the worst, amirite?)

They’re solid headphones. Cancel noise well, the sound quality is great, and they even tell you the battery life every time you turn them on. I bought these right after owning a pair of beats headphones for a few years. These are definitely better quality physically. Beats get pretty beat up after a year or so, but these have been going strong. People around me could hear my music when I’d be wearing my Beats, but not as much with these Bose headphones. A couple things I think Beats do better: Range - I used to be able to walk across the whole gym to grab new weights with my beats (at least 50ft) with no inconsistencies in sound. With these Bose headphones, I go maybe 15 or so feet and they start getting choppy. Battery Life - Both charge fast, but Beats lasted FOREVER on one charge. These last pretty long, but I do notice they die faster. On ear vs. Over ear - this one is a preference, but for some reason on ear is more comfortable than over ear. With these headphones, I start getting a headache around my temples/behind my ear after wearing them for over an hour. That never happened with my Beats, and those sat on my ear instead of around it. You may prefer it that way like I do, or you may prefer over ear. Overall, these will last you much longer than a pair of beats. While the battery life and range could use improvement, they still have great sound quality and noise canceling abilities. Worth the purchase.

We have a husky in our household. A really LOUD husky. It whines. It cries. It howls. It's the most worthless dog I've ever known. But it's the homeowner's dog. So .. ya know ... I had to deal with it. I tried earplugs, ear buds, and a handful of other ways to try to keep my sanity. All to pretty much no avail. And then these went on sale. Having heard about how good they are, I snagged 'em. Wow ... I have a LIFE again! They don't completely block out Howler Husky. But they do a GREAT job of making her quiet enough that I can keep my sanity. The noise reduction is that good! And the audio quality ... it sounds deep, rich ... "just right". So here's my take: PROS: * Excellent noise reduction! * Excellent audio quality. * Buttons are exactly where they should be! Volume up or down. Pause. Pairing. Etc. And I use the left ear button to scroll through the noise reduction settings (instead of using it to access Google or Alexa). IME, the newer synaptic buttons need to be dialed in better. Right now, physical buttons are my preference. And these are nice. * Pairs with two devices * Folks up really nicely. CONS * Expensive - so look for a sale on them. * No equalizer - but I think they have it so "dialed in" that this isn't an issue. * ONLY pairs with two devices. Four or five would be better! Really, these things are great! Are they worth $350? Maybe not. But at the sales prices they've had recently, they're a steal.

I have an older model Bose headphones set, probably 12-14 years old, that I've used and loved. However, I got tired of the cord always catching on things, and after trying a bunch of in-ear headphones, I decided it was time to get a bluetooth enabled over-ear set. Having had such a great experience with the first Bose I owned, and since it seemed they haven't lost their touch, I went with this one over the Sony. The Pros: The sound is excellent, just what I was expecting. I can hear things while watching TV that I never could before without having the volume WAY up. This one has the music/sound controls on the right ear that my previous model didn't have, which is a huge plus. The battery life is amazing - I used this for my work phone calls as well as listening to music or watching TV for an entire week, only needing to recharge once. I compared that to my Airpods, and laughed. I can't even make it through a 2 hour work call (pretty standard length) without the battery dying on those. The Cons: This is noticeably heavier than my old set. That's to be expected - my old one used AAA batteries, this has the battery built in, plus bluetooth, plus microphone, plus buttons... there's a lot more going on. But I did notice that after a few hours of continuous wear, the top of my head starts to hurt just a little where the band rests. I can expand the band a bit and let the cups rest a bit more on my ears, and that helps, but I do have to switch back and forth between the two positions. I'm still fiddling with the app, and exploring the Alexa functionality. The voice prompts aren't great quality - very stilted and choppy, not natural like Alexa, more like pre-Siri voice prompts. It's a little surprising, given the price point on this, how long the technology has been evolving, and how few pre-programmed phrases it would need. Then again, I don't use voice commands too terribly often, so it's not a huge part of my interaction with it. I got the Triple Midnight color. It's a very dark blue, so at first glance it looks black. Once the light really shines on it, it's a very nice color. Subtle, but beautiful. Overall, I'm very pleased and impressed with these.

This Bose unit is one I really liked. The ANC is wonderful... I had no idea the ambient noises would be reduced to the degree it was. I could not even hear my own footfalls on the tile floor. I am not a purist audiophile, but I do love to listen to my music! Classical, Sinatra, Ronstadt, choral, organ, etc., on Pandora or even YouTube. Although slightly less full or intense than my old wired headset, it provided perfectly acceptable audio quality for me. No complaints here. They were also far more comfortable than I had expected. The soft over-the-ear cups fit snugly, yet without any pressure on the ears or the top of my head. I could wear these things for several hours without difficulty. I have what I would consider to be an average-sized head and I did not have to extend the headpiece at all. After downloading the Android app on both my phone and tablet, I was able to quickly pair the headset to them both. Only moments after doing so, I discovered that an update for the Bose was already beginning to download. It took several minutes to download and install, but it all happened in the background while I continued using the headset. My primary interest was in pairing the headset to my desktop computer. Probably 90% or more of my headset use is with the PC. I listen to music, watch Amazon Prime videos or movies, watch YouTube videos, etc. and almost exclusively on my computer - not my tablet. I am no computer novice... build them, troubleshoot and support computers and small networks and am a MS Certified Professional. That said, I still experienced difficulties getting the headset to pair over the BT connection. After tweaking, waiting and then repeating the steps over again they finally were recognized properly and paired up. This is, unfortunately, where my downgrade to 4 stars occurred. I immediately experienced little pops and tiny skips on an almost consistent basis. After some online research I discovered that this is a very common complaint about this headset. Yes, yes... I tried all the usual fixes and resets that Bose recommends, but to no avail. The only thing I was unwilling to do was to take the ridiculous step of reinstalling Windows 10! Just to potentially fix an incompatibility with a stupid headset?? I think not. In the final analysis, I can readily and heartily recommend this Bose headset, but ONLY if the primary or exclusive use will be with a phone and/or tablet. The sound quality was very good and had no skips or pops on my tablet, even with the exact same sound or video sources using my desktop. They are really great for that. If, however, you want to use this Bose unit with a computer, you should look elsewhere until Bose can remedy the problem instead of simply recommend work-arounds that do not actually fix the problem. I am unfortunately planning to return this unit and get a Sony WH1000XM3. My brother has one and it causes him no problem at all with his computer. Too bad for Bose... this was otherwise a really good headset.

I've tried wireless ANC headphones from Shure, Sony, Panasonic, Technics, and AKG, and none of them have as good noise cancellation as Bose. Yes, some had better sound quality, and, yes, some offer equalizers/sound adjustments through their apps for a customized listening experience. But if you're cruising at 36,000 feet and are surrounded by the whine of engines, the most important thing is to block out as much as you can. There's a reason that most frequent fliers board a plane with Bose headphones around their necks or in their briefcases/totes. The sound quality is good but not excellent, and I'm reminded of that whenever I use the Shures or even the Panasonics. (I would maintain that Bose sunglasses have better sound.) Bose captures the lows through the highs, but not with the type of precision one might expect. Sound quality is better at high volumes than at moderate or low; a good set headphones should deliver at all volumes. Still, whether I'm watching a movie or listening to music, the sound is clear, with a slight nod to bass. Because they block out so much engine whine, the sound quality gets elevated compared to lesser ANC technologies. (Note to those who haven't used active noise cancellation: it blocks out machine whine by emitting a hiss to "cancel" out the sound of machinery such as plane engines and air conditioning. These do not block voices, crying babies, or other types of sounds any better than other well-fitting, over-the-ear headphones.) These headphones fit comfortably over my ears for a good seal, although I do have to take off my earrings if I'm going to listen for hours. Unlike some brands, they work well with a woman's smaller head as well as with men's. The ear pieces fold to fit into the compact case. You get both a charging cable and an audio cable for those times when you can't use Bluetooth. My only wish for these is better sound quality -- it's good, but Bose has sacrificed clarity for noise cancellation. So far, I haven't found a set, whether moderately- or high-priced, that combines both to my satisfaction. Shure comes the closest, but they also come in a case that's twice as big as Bose's. These Bose headphones are my travel headphones, but not my everyday ones. -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

I initially purchased the Bose QC35ii a few months ago and returned them unopened as I learned that the Sony ...M3 from listening to YouTube was the best you can buy. So, I made the order and waited a month or more for them to be shipped to me. Initially, I really liked the Sony sound and the noise cancellation was really great. The downside to the Sony that caused me to return them was the ear pads were synthetic leather and made my ears sweat and just those extra grams of weight and in holding the cups to my ears made them difficult for extended wear over more than 30 minutes. I also tried making a phone call with the Sony and they just are not clear to the person receiving your call. So, I ordered the Bose QC 35ii for the 2nd time hoping they were keepers. Well, I wasn't disappointed as they are less weight and feel comfortable on my head and no ear sweating. They lack the bass punch and sound stage of the Sony, but the overall sound is good enough and the fit makes the difference. Bose really has attention to the details and they are a better purchase if you value light headphones, no ear fatigue and sweating and want to make and receive phone calls on you iPhone.

I am reviewing the blue set. I work in a noisy office and these have been such a lifesaver! The office has white noise piled in and I can't even hear it when these are on (even with no music playing). The sound quality is clear, crisp HD....I never get a headache listening to these. I never hear crackling or static of any kind either. Now I HAVE heard them cut out briefly, like for a split-second, but it's very unusual. The left / right balance is perfect! They're very very easy to operate and the app is helpful to help you get them set up. I can wear these a full 8 hour shift without my ears hurting. I have a small head, and smaller ears. The soft padded ear pieces fit over my ears. I tend to have a sensitivity to synthetic materials, and I'm not really sure what the padding is made of, but I have no irritation frim it at all. The case they came in is very sturdy. You can use these wired if you forgot to charge them, but the cord that comes with it isn't very long. I've never used them wired because they charge very quickly. I would guess you can charge them to 75% to 80% in 30 minutes and you can listen a long time with that much charge. I have a pair of Bose wired earbuds that I've had at least seven years. They still work perfectly, and I have rolled them up to put them in a case for years. I wanted noise cancelling / wireless and my husband bought me these for Christmas. You just can't go wrong with Bose. I don't think you would be disappointed in these at all!
