My old Bose QC15s finally died, Over the years, I had replaced the cable twice myself, as well as the ear pads, and I used them almost everyday. My hifi headphones are Sennheiser HD650s, which I use with a headphone amp. I certainly didn't expect super hifi quality from my QC15s, but they were good enough and the sound cancelling was fine. Repair for the QC15s was going to cost $85-115, and I decided to try a different set of noise cancelling headphones. Sennheiser's HD 4.50 btnc bluetooth headphones were available for just under $150, so I tried those, especially since I've enjoyed the pricier HD 650s. I was quite disappointed by the Sennheiser's. They were a bit tight around my head, but that wasn't the deal breaker. I was just really disappointed by the sound. While I didn't expect them to match the HD650s, I did expect them to match my Bose QC15s, but they didn't come close. It's hard to describe the sound. It was as if there was very little expansiveness to the sound, very little sound stage, and while the bass was ok, the sound lacked solidity; and the noise cancellation was just ok. I listen primarily to classical music and jazz, and I found these headphones really disappointing for classical music. So I returned the Sennheisers and found these Bose QC25s refurbished. I'm listening to them now. Wow, what a difference! They surpass my old QC15s for noise cancellation, and for sound quality, and they are what I had hoped the Sennheisers would have sounded like. They're much more open, with cleaner bass, and a spacious, open sound stage. The instruments have some solidity, clarity, and color. They sound great, and they're really comfortable and seem well made. I've not heard the QC35s, so I can't compare them. In any case, for far less money, if you can find a pair of properly refurbished QC25s, I highly recommend them. ... show more

I purchased this through my mother's account (this one) and was very excited. I have had Bose before and it lasted a long time. Because I trusted the brand, I looked for new Bose headphones specifically. After I ordered this, I was very happy! Then, a few months later, they broke. Randomly, the sound stopped outputting on one side of the headphones. If I maneuvered the cord a little, I could get sound through both sides of the headphones, so I was fine. A few weeks later and the audio stopped outputting all together. Because I know Bose is supposed to be of high quality, I went back to see what the product policy was. I was sure it was supposed to at least last a year, but because of the seller, I had to check their website or contact them. I couldn't find it on their site at all and I'm too disappointed to contact them. These honestly lasted as long as the $12 ones that I can buy at goodwill. I still like Bose and the headphones, I just wished they lasted for me. ... show more

Headphones arrived a week and a half late but after contacting the seller they were shipped promptly. Replaced my Bose QC 15s with a renewed QC25. They came in original Bose packaging with all of the paperwork, cables and accessories complete. I am a pilot, so I use them as a headset when flying paired with a UFlyMike Harmony microphone set. Works well and noise cancelling is as good or a little better than the QC15. I needed a headset that still had a hard-wired connection for use when airlining and using with my phone or airline seat back entertainment systems. I have used them for about a week and the only criticism I have is they seem to use up batteries faster than the QC15. However, it was the AAA battery that came with it so it may have been a little older. We'll see if it holds up as well as my old QC15s which I used for almost 10 years. ... show more

I thought these would be great because trying them at home did reduce the noise, but on my recent plane trip, the volume was just right watching a movie, but then became excruciatingly painful when the PA came on. This refurbished headphone does not have the BOSE sound quality. My old (not a BOSE) headphone sounds much better. This is the reason I am returning it. Not worth the price I paid for.
