Having used the Bose noise cancelling family from the NC15 all the way to the QC35, I have to say Bose has outdone themselves once again. The noise cancelling quality is somehow even better, having just tested it on a recent flight. The airplane engine noise was negligible without music on but once you turn on music, it is another level altogether. The level of control on the Bose app is amazing with really clear lows and mids even in an airplane. The bass does leave a little to be desired but as a personal preference, i don't miss it much. The build quality this time around is another thing that has been really improved. The headset feels solid without weighing too much and did not cause any fatigue over a 10 hour flight. The battery life is another vast improvement. Even with noise cancellation on, i only used up 35% through the 10 hour flight. Overall, i would recommend this headset to anyone in the market for premium sound with an understated look and the build quality to go with it. ... show more

Okay, I just got the Bose QuietComfort Ultra (Gen 2), and wow. If you're looking for best-in-class noise canceling, stop scrolling. The ANC is truly next-level, it makes my noisy commute silent and the office disappear into thin air. They're also ridiculously comfortable, which is huge for long flights or work sessions. The sound quality is crisp and immersive, but the comfort and that incredible silence are the real selling points. Definitely a worthy upgrade and highly recommended if peace and quiet is your priority! Verdict: 5/5 Stars. Worth the hype. ... show more

I went into testing this with a critical mindset and I was impressed. I'll use real life scenarios instead of technical audiophile terms because I am not an audiophile. I just love music and listening to music all day. PROS: 1. Noise cancellation: it was raining pretty hard today and it canceled out all of the rain noise from my open window. I believe the ANC is what sets this one apart from the competitors. 2. The multi-function buttons take a little time getting used to, but it's well complemented with a mobile app and it's very easy to use 3. Immersive audio: I tried this out with guitar-based songs and the Cinema option for movies. Wowza. "Immersive" basically brings more depth into the audio and you'll know what I mean when you watch movies with the Cinema option. The immerse audio doesn't fit well for all types of music, however. 4. Sound: Bose's focus is on the sound, so excellence was expected and they delivered. The bass is rich and heavy while the highs are crisp. I'm sure you've heard this one before. Some sound adjustments will be needed in the mobile app to make this happen. 5. I don't have a big head and it's very light to wear and it doesn't make me tired after wearing it for very long. 6. Beautiful to look at and feel. 7. When you take off the headphones the music stops or YouTube stops playing the music. When you put it back on the music starts again. Wowza. My favorite music samples for a sound test: Carpenters "This Masquerade" & Metallica "Nothing else Matters" CONS: 2 buttons: The buttons are multi-function and the voiume adjustment is a touch-bar instead of buttons. The non-techie might be scared of this at first, but the mobile app makes up for it. The touch-bar volume control works very well, however. Price: It's very expensive at almost $500 since there are more affordable options out there which offer great sound. Color options: The color options offered might turn off some users like myself, so I just went with black. In summary, a very nice upgrade from my Bose QC series II headphones. I have yet to use this for calls, but my purpose wasn't making phone calls with $500 headphones. It was for listening to music and watching movies. ... show more

Being a music lover, I'd been eyeing these headphones for about two years, so when the 2nd Gen came out, I finally pulled the trigger. I've been listening to music nonstop as the quality is top-notch, and I've now experienced my music in a whole new way. Even though I've listened to the same songs my whole life, it feels like they've been reimagined as they have a whole new feel. The way I can customize my listening experience to match my mood or the type of music I'm listening to is very addicting. I find myself constantly finding new ways to enhance my music. I'm also very surprised and satisfied with the battery life of these headphones. When I have to buckle down on a task, I listen to music for hours on end, so not having to worry about battery life is everything. Wearing them for hours also felt very comfortable, and at no point did I feel pain or discomfort. The fact that the headphones, case, and accessories all match the same color purple was an attention to detail I absolutely loved. Overall, I'm very satisfied with these headphones. ... show more
