  • Excellent Headphones - With A Major Flaw Corrected By Purchasing A Second Pair of Headphones
Color: Black
I own the Bose QC 35, Ultra Gen 1, and now the Ultra Gen 2. I have to say that they are all great headphones but the Gen 2 are a cut above. Call quality is crystal clear. Sonically they are excellent. Noise reduction is fantastic. Battery life is great and they are comfortable for all day wearing. Materials, craftsmanship, and quality are also excellent. I've purchased the Sony's and returned them because they are not as good as the Ultras. I highly recommend these headphones. UPDATE: I ended up returning these headphones because the Bluetooth connection to my phone and computer stopped working with the app. Very frustrating experience. I selected multipoint in the app and connected the primary connection to my phone and the secondary connection to my HP Laptop PC. The problem is that YouTube doesn't work when the Headphones are selected in my laptop as the sound output device in Settings. When I deselect the Bose Headphones in my Laptop Settings, YouTube works. With the Bose Ultra's selected when I click on play in YouTube it immediately stops playing as if I removed the headphones from my head. I called HP Technical Support but they were of no help. They had me go through a bunch of useless troubleshooting steps that I already did to no avail. And I had trouble understanding the HP Technical Support because the Technician spoke with a heavy Indian accent. I ended up returning the Headphones and purchasing another pair to see if that clears up the problem. I want the Bose Ultra headphones to work because I really like the product. I received the second pair of Ultra Gen 2 headphones today. They are in desert gold and look beautiful! I downloaded the Bose App to my phone. On the App I went to my devices and selected Sources and then clicked on Multipoint. I paired the headphones to my cell phone and then I went to settings on my laptop computer and selected Bluetooth connections and then selected the Bose QC Ultra Gen 2 Headphones. I clicked on YouTube's Play and this time YouTube responded correctly by playing the song without stopping like it did previously. These headphones work! I am now a happy customer since my Ultra Gen 2's work flawlessly. UPDATE 2 Been wearing these headphones 10 hours per day and have to say that they are the most comfortable headphones I have ever worn. They continue to perform flawlessly however, I wish Bose would bring back the voice feature which announces the connection settings and the battery levels as in previous generations. They replaced this feature with a series of buzzes and pops which are rather uninformative. The ANC on these HPs is unreal. I have 2 loud air filters running 24/7 in the computer room and the ANC completely eliminates the sound. Also phone call clarity both incoming and outgoing are vastly improved. Battery duration is also noticeably improved. By placing the HPs down flat earcups down they enter a sleep mode. Finally don't waste your money and time purchasing the Sony WH-1000XM6. The Bose HPs are much better. They are more comfortable, they fold up for easy portability, the build quality is better, the design is sleeker (better headband, hinges and joints; the Sony's are boxier), and are sonically better than the WH-1000XM6. UPDATE 3 Turns out that Bose has a trade in program. So I traded in my QC 35II for an Ultra Gen 2 and got a $150 discount. I had to purchase the HPs on the Bose website however so I need to return the Amazon HPs back to Amazon. The other issue is that Bose sold the Gen 2s to me at full MSRP of $449 even though the Bose website and Amazon listed the HPs for $379. I called Bose to negotiate the better price but they wouldn't do it saying that the $379 price is a promotional discount and it doesn't apply to the Trade-In program. I am not a happy Bose customer as a result. UPDATE 4 Finally received my trade-in headphones. They set up perfectly. My phone and my computer stream seamlessly to the headphones. I am very happy with the Ultra Gen 2's even with the misunderstanding with Bose on the price. I got the Ultra Gen 2's for $299 after my trade-in. Sonically the Ultra Gen 2s are excellent. ANC works perfectly and call quality is also excellent. The Bose App is very easy to use. FINAL UPDATE I am still loving the Ultra Gen 2's. I've been listening to them 10 to 12 hours a day. Battery duration is excellent. They sound truly amazing. They work flawlessly. ... show more

  • Amazing Sound Quality, Comfort, and Noise Cancellation!
Color: Desert Gold
The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Bluetooth Headphones (2nd Gen) are absolutely impressive! The sound quality is outstanding, with rich detail, deep bass, and clear vocals that make music, podcasts, and movies feel more immersive. The noise cancellation is excellent and helps block out distractions, making them perfect for travel, work, or relaxing at home. The headphones are incredibly comfortable, even during long listening sessions. The ear cushions feel soft, the fit is secure, and the lightweight design makes them easy to wear for hours. Bluetooth pairing is quick and reliable, and the battery life is great for everyday use. I also love the premium build quality and sleek design. These headphones deliver the perfect combination of comfort, performance, and convenience. If you're looking for high-quality wireless headphones with amazing sound and comfort, I highly recommend the Bose QuietComfort Ultra! ... show more

  • Very Pleased with this Headset
Color: Midnight Violet
I bought my husband and myself both a pair of these headsets. We live in a small house and don't always have the same taste in movies, music, etc. I finally caved and bought two sets. We both absolutely love these headsets. We bought the blue and beige. Both look very striking and are not flimsy to hold. My husband's headset is hooked up to his computer (which is synced up to the TV in the living room) and mine is synced with my android phone. Both headsets were extremely easy to set up. It only took a couple of minutes to get everything set. The sound quality is amazing. These are the first high-end headsets we have ever had and were blown away how the immersive the sound is even on low volume levels. The sound quality really is very good for multiple types of media (music, podcasts, movies, etc.). The app is extremely easy to use to adjust/customize the sound. The bluetooth range is about 50 feet. For us, that is from one end of the house to the other. We can walk around our home without losing signal. The batter life is pretty spot on at 30 hours of listening time. They charge quickly and I love that if you put them down flat, they turn off automatically to preserve battery life. They are extremely comfortable to wear. I don't like wearing hats or anything on my head, but these are well cushioned that even I wear them for long periods of time without a headache. This is huge for me. While they are expensive, I think the sound quality and comfort are worth what we paid for the headsets. ... show more

  • My Go-To Headphones for Business and Travel 🎧✈️
Color: Driftwood Sand
I purchased these primarily for podcast interviews, Zoom sessions with my clients, and international travel, and they've worked very well for all of those purposes. The sound quality is excellent, the battery life is impressive, and I especially love having the different listening modes available. I typically keep them on noise cancellation mode, which works great whether I'm working, traveling, or simply trying to focus. I also use Apple devices, including a desktop, laptop, iPad, and iPhone. The headphones connect easily and perform well across devices. The only inconvenience is that they can only be actively connected to two devices at a time, so I occasionally have to manually switch connections depending on what I'm doing. One thing I noticed is that the maximum volume isn't quite as loud as I expected. I was replacing a much older pair of headphones that still worked but were showing their age. While these definitely offer updated features and a more polished look, I didn't notice a dramatic difference in sound quality compared to my previous pair. For travel, they've been excellent. Since they are wireless, I did purchase an airplane adapter separately for in-flight entertainment systems, which is something travelers may want to keep in mind. Overall, these have become my go-to headphones. They're comfortable, reliable, have excellent battery life, and perform well for work, travel, podcasting, and client calls. I'm very pleased with the purchase. ... show more

  • Bose removes core features after the sale and changes manual online
Color: Black
UPDATE 2: TLDR: The headset no longer will function without using the Bose app which is only available on cell phones. This prevents users who use the headset with other devices such as computers with no way to change what device the headset is connected to resulting in a denial of service of me using my headphones 4 months outside of the default return window. I noticed a problem with ANC with my air conditioners where the volume would increase and decrease with no music or call connected and change with each ear. so I installed the Bose app on a cellphone and connected to it to look if there was firmware with notes that claim improvements with ANC. I saw there was an update so I went and plugged in my headset to charge from 10%. I came back a few hours later and turned my headset on to see if it was charged and to my shock it would not work. It appears the firmware update was forced and downloaded\installed without my permission.. When the firmware was done I can no longer change devices on the headset. I checked my manual and the manual on Amazon and it clearly shows how to do it on page 30 (hit the power button to toggle between devices). When I look at the manual on Bose's website they completely removed that section and just say "Use the Bose app". I spoke with technical support and got nowhere so I called corporate. I spoke with someone there who confirmed it was a change made in the latest firmware to remove the functionality of the device, and said it will no longer function and there is no way revert the firmware as Bose has it locked down. They said they get complains about this change from customers AND inside Bose as it's a feature that tons of people use. So now the headset will only work with 2 devices with the Bose app (cellphones only) so no longer can you swap to use it on a Windows, Mac, Linux computer, etc as there is no Bose app and Bose has removed the functionality to change inputs on the headset. Here is a copy of the email I received from the corporate office as a follow up so I had it in writing. "This email serves as a follow up to our conversation on the phone earlier today regarding the multi-point connection changes in our latest firmware update. Today we discussed the Multipoint swap feature and how it stopped being functional after the latest update patch. I’d like to apologize for this as I understand it was a key feature for your personal use of the Headphones and has made it so that you can no longer operate them how you wanted to prior to the update. Sadly, Bose cannot provide a refund here and the only warranty options we have would be an exchange to the same Headphones with the same features. As a result, I would recommend returning these to the place of purchase for a full refund." Ironically the firmware update didn't even fix the problem with ANC, my air condition gets loud in 1 ear, then the other, then quiet again all by itself with no noise change, so I can't even use these during the summer months as it hurts my ears and gives me a headache having it with air conditioners on in my house as I work. Original review and first update are below, which to me no longer matter as the device no longer functions on a core level (Bluetooth ANC headset that can pair and communicate with multiple devices and allow changing of input devices using the headset) Anytime it received audio from any other device except my computer it breaks unless I manually disconnect and connect on my computer. There is NO Windows app whatsoever. Who in their right mind thought in 2025 to not support connecting to a computer with headphones. The sound quality is below average, the non-ultras sound just as good if not a little better. The fit is very good though, the non-ultras fit terrible with the small band up top, this is comfortable but if it can't stay connected to my computer like all my other older headphones that's the point. Update: I highly recommend after setting the device up to uninstall the Bose app from all your devices and then you can force connections using the "smart" button sometimes you can get it to force an audio stream, but it's very touchy. If the app is installed it will force connections despite only allowing 2 at once (think computer and personal/work phone type setup. ... show more

  • Very good ANC. Comfortable. Fix the creaking Bose!!!
Color: Black
Everybody else will have covered what you want to know about sound and features. I’m here to talk about the creaking. It happens when you do things like: move your jaw, tilt your head, breathe, etc. you know, trivial things humans rarely do. It’s really only apparent because the ANC does quite well at blocking outside noise. My headphones have a November of 2025 manufacture date but look online, it’s not a new complaint. Inside the right ear cup there’s a black wire exiting the shell into the hinge, this wire connects the two ear cups. This wire has a black bushing around it with a small silver retaining ring, the retaining ring rubs on the plastic housing of the ear cup and makes a creak. If you’re out in the world or have ANC off or are listening to loud cacophonies of noise intentionally, you’ll probably never hear it. If you like basking in silence while listening to calm music and the ringing in your own ears, it’s pretty irritating. The fix is simple, as long as you’re fine with opening up expensive headphones and doing minor noodling. 4 screws, one under the cloth in a recessed hole, be gentle with the delicate ribbon cables and don’t tug them. Spot that silver retaining ring slightly above the circuit board with the wire going through the shell of the ear cup, take a tiny flat head and tweak the “ears” of the retaining ring away from the shell of the ear cup so they don’t rub any more. That should be it, the ring doesn’t need much adjustment. Just enough that it’s not rubbing. Otherwise: they pair great, work well with iOS, noise cancel almost as well as good fitting earplugs (certain frequencies like compressed air aren’t great but I’ve found that’s the case with all the ANC I’ve tried), battery life is good, AND THEY DON’T TURN OFF IF YOU FALL ASLEEP AND STOP MOVING LIKE THE QC ULTRA EARBUDS BOSE!!! Overall, unless the shells themselves were insulated (passive isolation) or someone nails some of the troublesome ANC frequencies, I don’t expect there are many better noise cancelling products. I know I’ve tried probably a dozen that perform worse. My Heavys headphones MIGHT have slightly more comfortable ear cups but these aren’t bad at all (I also took those apart and removed the protruding tweeters that stab you in the head if there’s pressure against the side of the ear cups. I will take expensive s*** apart if it irritates me and I deign to do so!). I have a coworker who has owned a pair of the original QC ULTRAS for years and these should be a 5 star product if you don’t have to partially disassemble them to fix a noise issue. Seriously Bose, come on; I’ve got moderate hearing damage in both ears. If I can hear the noise, your QA and product testing pools need some gentle slaps. If you start turning out bad products with weak QC, you’re toast. Bump the price per unit, QC them better, and keep trucking. If you’re positioned as a “luxury good”, act like it; people are coming for your market share if you don’t. I can pay for quality, sustainability, and repairability, otherwise I’ve got several pairs $35 earbuds and cheap headphones that are holding up pretty good. ... show more

  • Worth it on Prime Day $$$
Color: Midnight Violet
Let's face it, these headphones are expensive. I chickened out early on and bought the Midnight Violet QC earbuds instead, but told myself that if these drop in price on Prime Day, I'll get them. Spoiler alert: all went according to plan. Are they worth your money? I think so. Here's what I was looking for: - Effective sound reduction. These are the business - when I put them on, the world disappears. - Immersive audio (the earbuds convinced be that this was a feature definitely I wanted) - Multiple hour over-ear comfort (my on-ear and over-ear Beats headphones give me a headache or pinch under my jaw) - Smooth fit adjustment over the head for each ear - A non-distracting, unique color that I could keep clean - that wasn't black (life's too short for boring colors, imo) - A low profile, compact carrying case that would fit neatly in my suitcase or travel bag - Seamless transition between calls and audio (calls can come in at slightly lower volume than music, but not a dealbreaker) - Smooth set up and tutorial process (as a new Bose user, this was important to me) All that said, wait for it to go on sale before you make the jump. I don't regret my purchase. ... show more

  • Wowza. Aside from the sound, you're paying for the noise cancellation & immersive audio
Color: Black
I went into testing this with a critical mindset and I was impressed. I'll use real life scenarios instead of technical audiophile terms because I am not an audiophile. I just love music and listening to music all day. PROS: 1. Noise cancellation: it was raining pretty hard today and it canceled out all of the rain noise from my open window. I believe the ANC is what sets this one apart from the competitors. 2. The multi-function buttons take a little time getting used to, but it's well complemented with a mobile app and it's very easy to use 3. Immersive audio: I tried this out with guitar-based songs and the Cinema option for movies. Wowza. "Immersive" basically brings more depth into the audio and you'll know what I mean when you watch movies with the Cinema option. The immerse audio doesn't fit well for all types of music, however. 4. Sound: Bose's focus is on the sound, so excellence was expected and they delivered. The bass is rich and heavy while the highs are crisp. I'm sure you've heard this one before. Some sound adjustments will be needed in the mobile app to make this happen. 5. I don't have a big head and it's very light to wear and it doesn't make me tired after wearing it for very long. 6. Beautiful to look at and feel. 7. When you take off the headphones the music stops or YouTube stops playing the music. When you put it back on the music starts again. Wowza. My favorite music samples for a sound test: Carpenters "This Masquerade" & Metallica "Nothing else Matters" CONS: 2 buttons: The buttons are multi-function and the voiume adjustment is a touch-bar instead of buttons. The non-techie might be scared of this at first, but the mobile app makes up for it. The touch-bar volume control works very well, however. Price: It's very expensive at almost $500 since there are more affordable options out there which offer great sound. Color options: The color options offered might turn off some users like myself, so I just went with black. In summary, a very nice upgrade from my Bose QC series II headphones. I have yet to use this for calls, but my purpose wasn't making phone calls with $500 headphones. It was for listening to music and watching movies. ... show more
