Shaft didn't fit into the compactor plate and Bosch determined from photos that the shaft had not been tapered. They offered to send me a replacement and I could keep the old defective shaft. After 2 weeks and 4 contacts asking for the tracking number, they finally confessed that they never intended to ship a replacement, unless, now, I return the item to them. I told them that Amazon would have exchanged it already in half the time and that I would exchange it with the Amazon seller and never wanted to do business with Bosch again. My project is negatively impacted by this delay and will be another week before I can resume work. Buyer beware that if the Bosch product is correct, they should be good. But if they need Bosch customer support, they are in trouble. ... show more

It goes in the plate tamper and works just fine. Quality is what you would expect of a Bosch product. 'nuff said. Of course you need the plate that goes with it, sold separately.

This shaft is good for the taper base it is designed for. The only draw back is that it is a pressure fit into the base and remove for store is almost impossible.
