The BOSCH GWS12V-30 12V Max 3 in. brushless cordless angle grinder is a compact 3 inch grinder for pros who need quick, difficult cuts in tight spaces other tools can't. The lightweight, portable grinder supports cutting and grinding work on threaded rod, strut, conduit, tile and metal, giving contractors, installers and maintenance users a small angle grinder for repair, home improvement, remodeling, construction and DIY projects. With its brushless motor design and optimized gear structure, this efficient grinder produces 19,500 no-load rpm at only 1.5 lbs. (tool only, not including battery), balancing portability, speed, reliability and efficiency for jobsite, garage and workshop tasks. It is engineered to fit the palm of a user's hand with an ergonomic grip for outstanding comfort and control. The innovative gear-mount design enables fast wheel change: pull the locking clip and unscrew the spindle screw. Restart protection helps prevent accidental tool startup when switching batteries, overload protection reduces the risk of the motor overloading or overheating, and fast braking time stops the wheel after the grinder is turned off.

    • Good product
Good little grinder but it has a bad design on the switch. Very hard to keep the switch on and keep the grinder running. I do think it's a flaw in design. I returned the first one because of the switch but the 2nd one has the same problem. Thinking it might be operator error, we kept it and used it. Since we don't use it often, the warranty ran out and we could not return the tool. I need to call the company to get some feedback. The size is great for my small hands. Also the batteries don't hold a long charge. I use for Horse Hoof Trimming. I have 2 genuine batteries so I can switch them out while I work, if they get slow. The tool works but the switch is a pain to use. If I could, I would return this. Price is too high for the hassle with the switch ... show more

    • Good
This machine fulfills its function, it has excellent quality, it doesn't break down like others, so you can cut with confidence without fear of it breaking unexpectedly.

    • Bosch are quality tools
I didn't expect this grinder to be so small and portable, it looks a lot thicker in the picture on the site, but I am very happy with the product, it came with two grinder wheels: one a little thick that says "Metal Grinding Wheel" the other is really thin and says "Metal Cutting Wheel", that's the one I bought it for but I didn't realize I didn't order a battery or charger so now I'm waiting for them to come in so I can cut some metal or aluminum roofing panels I got for now. ... show more

    • Very handy little tool. But switch is a pain in the a**.
Very handy little tool. Good for filing on wood projects too. Like some others, I find the switch to be a pain, in that it won't stay on when tool is running. I have several other Bosch cordless tools with finicky switches. So Bosch has design problems with switches on otherwise excellent tools.

    • Great for Small Projects
As the conflicting evaluations start, the machines are only excellent if you indeed use them for small projects. The benefit of this machine is its small size; the disadvantage is that its small size makes it a poor choice for large projects where a full fine angle grinder is needed -- at least IMHO. For small projects it was terrific. I cut 24-high quality metal screws in a row quickly and easily on one charge without problem. ... show more

Why did you pick this product vs others?: It’s what I wanted, I have multiple Bosch handheld electrical tools and operation functioned great.

    • Works great!
Small, handy cutoff tool that works with all my other Bosch 12 volt batteries. Almost didn't buy because some reviewer said it was hard to find the 3" wheels. Not a problem! Comes with 2 to start, and Amazon has a healthy assortment for sale. Would buy again.
