Description

The Bosch GLL50-20 Self-Leveling Cross-Line Laser features a 50 Ft. range and cross-line mode that projects both horizontal and vertical red lines, allowing for leveling with a 5/16 In. accuracy at 30 Ft. With its power flexibility, operate using the included AA batteries or purchase Bosch's 3.7V Lithium-Ion 1.0 Ah Battery (sold separately) that allows use of the tool while charging to diminish downtime. Its ergonomic, compact, lightweight design and IP55 dust- and water-resistant rating provide for both comfortable and dependable operation. The full rubber overmold housing helps protect every major impact point, acting like a roll cage for safeguarding. Equipped with a Smart Pendulum System, the tool self levels, will indicate any out-of-level condition by blinking and then locks when switched off for secure transport. Simply tilt the laser to use the lines at an angle with ease. Position the tool with the included integrated magnetic mount or utilize the 1/4 In. threading mount that fits with like-sized tripods.

I bought this because I had to drill two holes in my wall, about 67" AFF and about 70" apart. Their measurements to the ceiling were 1/4" different. Was the floor unlevel or was it the ceiling? Laser level to the rescue. Here are some lessons learned and comments on other reviewers' critiques: • This thing seems accurate when placed about 10' from wall as measured with a Stabila 6' level. (I know, I could have used the Stabila for my job, but I wanted the laser.) • This is not like a flashlight, i.e., you can't hold it in your hand and shine it at any height on the wall and see a level line. You have to raise it to the height where you want the horizontal line to appear. This is where a tripod comes in handy. I used an old Amazon Basics 60" adjustable camera tripod. It worked great. The crank on the tripod lets you raise/lower the level precisely. • The laser mechanism rides on a gimbal. If you cock/tilt the laser body and the gimbal doesn't have enough "wiggle room" to keep things level, the laser blinks in warning. People who complain about this behavior are not keeping their laser upright enough. Probably aren't using a tripod. • Finally, and the reason I wrote this review, is the quality of the box — it is great! If you want to put your level away until you use it again at some later date, everything packs neatly and safely back into the box. Just toss that box in a drawer and everything will be kept safely together. It's better than most blow-molded plastic cases you get with tools, IMHO. All in all, with this laser I was able to quickly and confidently mark these two holes and hang a 6' x 4' framed tapestry perfectly. I actually delayed completing the job until I received the laser and I'm glad I did. ... show more

one of the best, on sale it’s a steal. use 3 of these for i installing or fabricating and it makes your job easier. all the good lasers are expensive. this one is obviously not as precise and as well made but i’ll buy these when they go on sale. take care of them and your laser alignment should be good for a long time. the magnet is good and useful. red lasers oc not as visible as the greens but in a shop setting it works great ... show more

I have a LOT of experience using laser levels, and this one is actually trash-tier. Wildly inaccurate even in short spans. I knew it would be dim, so I opted to use it at night (outdoor use). What I didn’t know is how absolutely inaccurate it would be. First of all, even with the laser only about 20-30’ away, the line becomes something like 1/4” thick. Never have I ever seen a laser do this. Second of all, marking dead-center of the chunky line on fence posts over a span, then string lining to check and see if the lines were even in-line, showed that the laser produced a curve. High in center post and falling off on the posts to the left and right. Not that it even matters, but the throw from left to right on the horizontal line is comically short It’s a junk product. ... show more
