  • Easy to use, simple, streamlined, great quality
Great quality, super easy to use. Previously I used a cheap scope that I had to connect to my phone through wifi and an app - a cumbersome process. With this scope, monitoring nest-boxes is easy and satisfying. Setup was a breeze. It's intuitive, streamlined, nice design - all in all an excellent experience. I didn't expect something this perfect (simple! clear! functional! phew) given my previous experience with a somewhat cheaper scope, but it's night and day. Great value for the money spent. ... show more

  • NOT TRUE IR - NOT TRUE NIGHT VISION - SCAM
IR/Night Vision is a total rip off SCAM!! when viewed in even low light situations you click the IR button and it goes black(and white) with more light you can see that the screen simply changes to a black and white image, true IR cameras intensifies, low light situations allowing you to view things in the dark. This camera simply just switches to black-and-white claiming that it’s IR night vision when it’s not do not waste your money on this product thank goodness Amazon let me return it. ... show more

  • Ir doesn't work **UPDATE**
Company reached out to me immediately after review to make sure I was 100% satisfied. I could not be more pleased with this company's customer service. The issue was resolved with no problem and I'm now a happy customer.

  • Took a bit to get going
This is an amazing tool once it starts working for you. It took me a bit to get it up and running so I could finally use it. It switches from "day" to "night" mode pretty smooth and worked great to see what made a home in the old grill that's sitting in the backyard without moving off the tarp or bothering that which lives in there. Looks like a squirrel made a nest inside but didn't see anything alive inside. There might be now that it's spring though. ... show more

  • IR is a nice touch, needs a case.
The Bad Ships in Japanese by default. If you are smarter than me you won't scroll to the bottom where language menus usually are and will notice the globe is the second option. I instead used google translates camera to translate everything. Love that feature. Don't use the auto shut off, it will shut off even if you are actively pressing buttons if you aren't recording video. Lastly it doesn't come with a case. YOu can use the retail box as a case but my other two boroscopes came with proper hard casesthat take up less tahn half the space on a shelf and fit in a bag nicely. This thing is not going in a bag unless you buy a case. The iffy Infrared does work well but am not sure when I would need it. It has 8 LEDs, 4 are bright normal light and 4 are IR. Within the useful focal length of a boroscope the white lights should illuminate everything in full color. It's possible the IR does somethign at a farther distance but poking around outside I couldn't find a use case. I did find that the image quality could be a little better, especially in night vision mode. Additionally, the 5" screen can be a bit small for some users. Overall, this is a good value for the price and a great option for anyone interested things in the dark but not for observing wildlife at night. It's a boroscope, so there is no wildlife you can get close enough to. Though it might help me find pests in my soffits. ... show more

  • A Versatile Inspection Tool
The AMTORIN Night Vision Endoscope Borescope Camera sets itself apart in the crowded field of inspection cameras with a suite of features that cater to a wide range of observation needs. Its well-considered design and robust accessory package elevate it from a mere inspection tool to a comprehensive observation solution. Key Features and Benefits: Integrated Screen: One of the standout features is the inclusion of a 5" IPS screen, eliminating the need to use a personal smartphone in potentially damaging environments. The screen's durable construction suggests it can withstand a fair amount of wear and tear, an essential attribute for a device likely to be used in challenging conditions. Storage Capacity: The convenience of having a 32GB SD card pre-installed cannot be overstated. This ready-to-go aspect of the device ensures users can start their inspection work immediately without worrying about additional storage purchases or compatibility issues. Versatile Accessories: The scope comes with a variety of attachments, including side-viewing capabilities and a bendable "monopod" for screen mounting. These accessories significantly enhance the device's utility, allowing for more nuanced and flexible observation angles—particularly useful in complex environments like engine compartments. Considerations: Scope Size: While the scope's dimensions offer robust construction, the larger size of the camera end may limit its application in tighter spaces. It's not suited for very small bore inspection or extremely confined areas, a factor that potential users should consider based on their specific needs. Cable Length: The 16.5FT cable length, while advantageous for reaching into deep or distant spaces, can be cumbersome in more compact settings. Managing the excess cable may require additional effort and planning during use. Application and Usage: Despite its few limitations, the AMTORIN Endoscope shines in a variety of applications, from automotive maintenance to wildlife observation. While its size may not permit the smallest of explorations, such as ear inspections or small caliber firearm bore checks, its robust build and IR capability make it ideal for larger-scale inspections and night vision applications. Conclusion: The AMTORIN Night Vision Endoscope Borescope Camera is a thoughtfully designed tool that addresses the needs of a broad spectrum of users. Its standalone screen, ample storage, and array of attachments provide a level of versatility and convenience that is hard to match. Although its physical dimensions and lengthy cable may pose challenges in certain scenarios, the overall utility and effectiveness of the device are undeniable. For its ability to deliver detailed insights into the unseen and hard-to-reach areas, coupled with its user-friendly design, this endoscope camera earns a well-deserved five-star rating. ... show more

  • Good Endoscope
[Night Vision] The "night vision" uses infrared lights on the end of the borescope to illuminate the area (if the light is on) in a spectrum not visible to humans and most animals, but visible to the camera, producing a black-and-white image. Initially, I thought this was a gimmick, however I found a use for it. When one of my cats had baby kittens, I used the borescope to find the location, and then keep tabs on the kittens and mommy. A week after they were born, she began moving the kittens and I caught her half way through moving the kittens and was able to keep an eye on her making sure she didn't move them outside. Thankfully, they're still inside, and I now have the endoscope pointed at her new location. [Image Quality] The picture is above average. It's much better than my $30 endoscope, and able to focus on items immediately in front of the camera, or several feet away. I'd like even better quality, it's not as nice as a cell-phone camera, but as far as endoscopes go in this price range it seems good. [Lights] The light works well, as does the IR light. To make sure the IR light is on, you can switch to normal mode, ensure the white light is on and at max brightness, and if you switch back to IR, the IR light will be at max brightness. [Arm / Cable] The endoscope "arm" is the right stiffness, and a good length. [Screen] The screen is a good quality, displaying both color and black and white. [Capture] This includes a micro-sd card, and you can capture images or video to that car. [Stand] The included stand or arm-wrap thing does work, both for wrapping arond your arm, or even positioning it somewhere. For example, mine is wrapped around to a shelf nearby where the kitties are. [Charging] The device charges over USB-C, and the amber charging light turns off when fully charged. You can also run the device, while it is plugged into wall-power. This is very convenient if (for example) you wanted to keep a 24/7 screen running of some baby kittens. ... show more
