  • Fun multiplayer
This game is a lot of fun. It's just as fun as to the original Borderlands. Did not like the second one too much. Me and my husband (sometimes our son) like to play the multiplayer together. It's honestly the only time we play it. It's super enjoyable. Lol the story line is funny, but I only care about the multiplayer. We are able to play together on our steam decks and our son joins in from his PlayStation. It's fun that we can all use different systems to play together ... show more

  • Two Part Review: Product and Seller - *Pictures*
Product: First, Borderlands 3 lives up to the hype. It's much like the previous games in the series; an FPS/RPG jam-packed with comedic personalities. There are a lot of lower-rated (1-2) reviews on this game purely because they beat the user either finished the base story in a fast amount of time, there weren't enough weapons or the fact that, while advertised as such, the game features two-person local coop instead of four, to name a few. Below I have listed a few of the positives and negatives that I've experienced. Positives: + More guns than previous games in series + New, funny, and different villains + Fun and interactive story + Easy to join/leave other players' sessions in online play + Four new and different playable characters + 3 different customization trees for each playable character (12 base combinations) + Returning characters from previous games in the series + Great music + Great ambient sounds + Great weapon sounds Negatives: - Medium to long length (time) load screens - Laggy interface - A few small holes in the story Seller (BUYER BEWARE): *** Below is NOT a customer service review, it is meant to be an informative disclaimer to potential customers of Amazon for this specific product and should not be misinterpreted as a review on Amazon customer service as a whole *** Second, be cautious about buying this product from Amazon. I originally ordered the game from US Amazon using a US account and received a UK version of the game. This can be EASILY seen by viewing the back of the game cases. Not only is the regional icon "R2" instead of "ALL", as it is in the US counterpart, but the bar code, text coloration, text orientation, text content, and production location all deviate from what a US version should look like. Besides, the regional code on the game manual was "CUSA-08025". To further reiterate that this is the incorrect version, I ask you to please view the multiple flags that are not the US'. To confirm the differences, I have checked with a friend's copy of the game, which he received from Amazon... so it's incorrect AND inconsistent, and it is indeed completely different (This comes into play shortly). The importance of this issue is that a UK hard copy of the game can be played on a US-based PSN account AS LONG AS no DLC is purchased on the US PS Store. The DLC is completely incompatible and codes that accompany the game, like the golden weapon skin pack, are also incompatible with the US PS Store. I have contacted Amazon regarding this issue and they sent me another copy of the game, free of charge. The only issue is that, despite them confirming I ordered a US version, I was sent another UK version of the game. When contacted again, they said, quote, "At this time, there is no way we can guarantee you will receive a US copy of the game." immediately after letting me know that "You should have received a US copy because you ordered it from the US Amazon.". As it stands, Amazon has offered a refund but has made no further attempt to rectify the situation. Updates will be posted as they occur. ... show more

  • The crack of video games
I can't get enough Borderlands 3, or Dahl's brand of weapons, for that matter. I've only just flown off of Pandora. 3 more planets to go! I have issues, though. Like, whatever happened to putting a manual in with your game? I don't know how many things I've had to look up. Is this really a money saver for a game they initially charge $60 for? I see a lot of people complaining about the story. I think I can sum this up in a nutshell: Millennial Villains. Man, are they annoying. I'm sure the time will come when I get to kick their asses. But my biggest gripe with this game is a sheer oversight by Gearbox. I do two things when I start a game. Invert the Y-axis, and shut off the music. You can invert the Y-axis for the game itself, but it doesn't carry over into the map. And how often do you need the map? Like, ALL THE TIME. It is a nightmare to navigate when it's set up the opposite way as the rest of the game. Idiotic. How about fixing this in a patch, guys? Edit 3/31/20: Seems like they've fixed this issue with version 1.10 (unless this was a coincidence, and it only does it on the Pandora map!). ... show more

We are actually on our 2nd one, the first one disappeared and my teens couldn't do without. This is probably the top played game in our house.

  • I like it, but it is the weakest of the series. 3.5 stars
The original Borderlands was one of those games that I wasn’t sure I would like when I first started playing, but it quickly grew on me with its humor and fun game play. Now, it has been 5 long years since I last played B2, so I was looking forward to getting my Borderlands fix with this one. I will say that even though this series has grown on me, I don’t like the series as much as I do, similar games such as Fallout, Skyrim or Far Cry, but it does have its moments and is enjoyable. Really my biggest complaint to the game is that it is more of the same with not really enough new editions to give this game a distinct feel from the previous two I have played. Graphics are better on the PS4 of course, but a lot of the environment feels one dimensional and there as filler. A lot of the same creatures are back and some of the same quests repeated as past games and some of the bosses are hit and miss in terms of fun to battle. The humor is still there as is the wide variety of weapons, although maybe too much variety in this case. Some of the characters of old are back as well, but feel a little flat in some instances. Some of the same bugs and annoyances are back too. Graphic glitches and things of that nature which are minor, but one thing I hate is vehicle controls are extremely annoying. Maybe I had forgotten it in past games, but 5 years later and my patience is a little thin with that. The menus are a bit cluttered and the menus and skills section could be cleaner and easier to navigate. I do think that this game is the weakest of the series mainly because it does too little too improve on the previous installments and it feels too much like the same thing over in a bit larger map. With that being said though, if you are a fan of the previous, you will most likely enjoy this one. To me, there just isn’t enough improvements and differences to make this game stand out from the others. I like it, but it isn’t my favorite of the series. 3.5 stars ... show more
