I needed a saw stand for my Hercules 12 in.dual-bevel sliding miter saw that I use in my shop and also just on my property. This stand has been awesome! It works double, actually triple duty, with its left and right extension tables that I use with both the work-table mode and the miter-saw mode. I won't ever have to load the stand in and out of the bed of a truck, it's not transport friendly. Assembly was a bit tricky... care needed to be taken before tightening major pieces so that the whole unit was "square." Starting out on a flat and level floor I took a lot of extra time making sure that the face/front and (seperately) the top diagonals matched (were the same length to within 1/16 inch). This was tedious to do, but when all the screws were tightened up the rotating top worked very well. The collapsable handle is just okay, it's a handful to raise and lower and other than that I think the "plastic" table rotation locks (located at each of the 4 corners of the rotating table) should be made of steel. Still a fantastic, functional, and super space efficient addition to my workshop.

This table/workstation is amazing! I picked up a DeWalt DWS780 miter saw and wanted a place to plant it in my garage/workshop. The saw had all the features I was after, but it was a bit heavier and larger than I expected so the hunt began for a worktable. I am so glad I found this Bora Portamate because it couldn't be a better match for this particular saw set-up. I'll admit that it just barely fit onto the table's mounting brackets, but I could not be happier with the way it works. Assembly was ok. The manufacturer provided the necessary allen head wrenches, so I just needed my socket set to complete the assembly tool list. The pieces all went together easily. They are fairly heavy sections as this table is very well made. Pay particular attention to aligning the moveable tabletop ahead of tightening the support brackets so it rotates freely and lines up with the locking tabs. Once assembled and after mounting my miter saw, I was very impressed with how smooth the travel was when the saw and tabletop were released to flip upside-down into the storage position. The side wing tables operated very well with a solid hold when raised into position. Once you adjust the raised sections for a matching height you are ready to go and you've got a good size working space. (No more stretching out your leg to catch that cut-off piece before it hits the floor!) If you are tight on space and you only need to work material from one side, simply drop one side or leave both sides down when small work is being processed. The handle's raising and lowering process is a bit tricky for two hands to manage but it does work and the locks the handle settles into are very positive. The wheels carry the load easily so I can roll it right into place for working or to tuck it neatly away. I don't see this being anything I'd roll onto a jobsite unless I invested in a low towable trailer as I wouldn't be able to roll this up a ramp into the back of my work truck. I see it as something I'll be keeping in my garage/workshop with the ability to move it easily out into my driveway or backyard but not rolling it around town. Great product, super durable, and a grand addition to my workshop!

Highly recommend this product. I read a lot of reviews before buying, and it's true about the packaging. Mine arrived with the outer (Amazon) box actually untaped (the tape had popped) but inside was the product box which was fine. There was one foot with a small chip of paint missing, but nothing was bent or broken and I was able to assemble it without having to fix any dents. I now understand why the packaging is such an issue as this is a strong heavy beefy product, and it's HEAVY. The cart itself works really well. I use it for my compound miter saw, and when not using that, I use it as an outfeed table for my table saw. I also use it as an assembly table when needed. I was able to adjust it so the wings are perfectly level with the table, and the pop-up material support pieces are perfectly level with my installed saw. Its a DREAM to cut 2x4's on this table compared to how I did it before, always trying to rig-up some kind of material supports from sawhorses. One added benefit is the wings have dog-holes in them, which are great for using the unit as an assembly table, and since the wings fold-down and LOCK, it's also a great way to SIDE support things you're trying to assemble, because when the wings are folded down, the dog-holes are on the side of the unit. It was a bit fiddly to setup, but that's because it's very universal, so the rails you mount the saw on, and the wings and the material supports all need to be adjustable so you can dial them in to your particular saw. I decided to buy this instead of trying to build one myself and I'm glad I did that. It would be nice if it was a bit less expensive, but I wouldn't want to give-up any of the features, or have them make it any less strong, so as it is it's a good value. My only complaint would be that it's a bit fiddly to assemble the unit so the rotating table/saw holder is square to the sides, which is needed for the latches to hold the table when in position. Just not sure how you'd make that easier to assemble while keeping the flexibility you need to square everything up. Very glad I bought this, already super happy with how its working, and if I knew then what I know now, I'd definitely have bought it sooner.

I have a dewalt DWS780 (12 inch) .. i recently upgraded my miter saw and also bought the dewalt rolling stand with it but didn't like it much and then saw the Bora and this is the best miter saw stand i have ever owned and seen, the way it supports the Lumbers in both sides makes it much better choice than all the traditional miter saw stands out there, where you need an extra stands on each side to support your wood after cutting or it will fall in the floor (at least one side will).....plus you can flip it down and use the top as a bench or a table or whatever, i'm thinking of drilling some holes and attach another of my machines that i don't use much (like my grinder) in the other side and just flip the table when i need it.. Back to this stand, it's very easy to assemble but my only advice to you Don't tight all the bolts and nuts on the buttom 2 bars until you put all the parts together because you will need to make adjustments later on ....I did that but then i had to loosen them again to make the final adjustments to have the middle board spin freely, one of the sides was slightly bent from shipping but was an easy fix with a plier and dead blow hammer or just use a regular hammer and cover the hammer head with a piece of rubber or a rug or something not to scratch the paint, because this thing is TOO HEAVY for 1 perseon and most likely will get thrown or dragged during shipped (understandable), so you might get a bent edge or side like me but it's really easy to fix

Jun2020/ 2 Stars: When I received the box, it was beaten beyond belief but I was hopeful that the contents inside were intact. To my surprise it looked to be BUT once I put it together, I realized that it was not functional. The top where the miter saw rests was warped unbelievably which I figured would be corrected when I attached the saw... it did not. Not only that, but the “squareness” of the frame could not be more off. It was perpetually at 80-85 degrees no matter how much I tinkered with it or adjusted it. The only reason I’m giving this 2 stars is because of the customer service for the company. The woman was really nice and understanding and only asked I send a photo of the damaged product(s) and they would send a replacement. Fingers crossed because I had such high hopes for this product. I will post an update when I receive the replacement. Update July 16th, 2020/ 5 Stars: This product is AMAZING... if you order it from BORA themselves. Do not order this through Amazon with a clear conscience. I just received my replacement from the company themselves and for one, the customer service is exceptional. I will definitely be ordering from them again just because of that.And two, she told me that they were out of stock a month ago, said they were receiving a shipment in middle of July and sure enough on July 15th, it was at my door, double boxed, extra padded and WAY better handled. The contents inside were all together and not warped, dinged or scratch (as you would expect from a new product) but the one I received from Amazon was. After I called to tell Bora how awesome my experience with them was and to inform them about how their product is being handled, she told me that I was not the first person to tell her that people have complained about Amazons shipping and handling. That tells you something... Once put together it’s great! I have the DEWALT DWS780 and it JUST fits but fits really well for a 12 inch miter. I cannot spin it 360 degrees due to its length but I don’t care about that at all. I can still spin it downward in one direction. Tips on assembly: It can be a bit tricky at first but “hidden” within the instructions it says not to tighten the fasteners until the top is installed and has full, unhindered rotation. Once the top is installed, THEN tighten the fasteners and ALWAYS recheck the spin with every tightening just to be sure. I did this and I had no issue whatsoever. Other than that, it’s pretty straight forward. Again, to summarize: Product is excellent but I highly recommend ordering it through the company Bora. I doubt you’ll be disappointed.

I would easily give this a 4 star, or even a 5 star, if it worked perfectly as advertised. But it just doesn't. It works pretty close as it is advertised, but not exactly. First off, I want to say perhaps something got caught up or bent during shipping. When the item arrived, I was pretty disappointed that the box was severely damaged. And I mean it had looked like it had been kicked in, stomped on, other hard and sharp objects beat and stabbed into the sides of the boxes, and then pushed and rolled down a rocky hill. It arrived really beat up. When I brought it into the garage I was sure there would be some severely damaged hardware therein. Well, some of the items were bent and the paint on some items even chipped. But I didn't want to bother with trying to return such a huge big item and having to pack everything backup, and try and fix the already terribly beat up box. So....Unpacked and started to put it together. It went together pretty easily. Probably a quick 30 minutes to get it all done. I used my own tools instead of the included hardware to put it together. That helps with time and ease of assembly. The reason for the 3 star: I went to add my Dewalt miter saw on, and that went pretty well and easy. Beware that the bolts are very chintzy, as I over-torqued on and it snapped in half. I didn't really even torque it down very hard and it still snapped. I'm pretty familiar with tooling around the garage, so trust me, I wasn't at all trying to gorilla it tight or anything. Luckily I had plenty of other hardware laying around in my parts bin. Everything miter saw wise went on and in just fine. I stood back inspecting everything before rotating it around to test. Reviewed the instructions again to be sure I wasn't missing anything, and I was ready to rotate and lock it into place. It rotated around just fine. But it didn't lock up on one side at all. I am sure one of the walls it came with was bent and favors out-of-square. That being said, if I want to lock both sides in place where the plastic grippers grab their proprietary notch in the metal wall, I need to now push the side over in order for the plastic gripper to reach the locking mechanism. I see in all the videos that the latch just latches in one try, but mine doesn't. I'm going to have to take it all completely apart and diagnose where the bend is with my square(s), use a torch and try and bend it square again. I figure I'll have to wait till summer to do that when it gets warmer outside. I don't want to spend 3-4 hours fixing this in the absolute cold. Anyways, the latch is my only gripe. Well, that and the shipping, too. Otherwise it is a solidly made item. For those who need more bench space in the garage and don't want to fight with pulling/storing the miter saw over and over, this is perfect. One of the best tools I have in the garage now. 3-stars for now. I'll report back when I fix it.

I bought this to mount a 12" Rigid compound miter saw, replacing the normal "saw horse" style miter stand that had 4 wide folding legs due to limited storage space, and to be able to use it as a work surface when nots sawing. In all honesty, I'd never pay this much for something I could make myself, but I just didn't have time with current projects pending. 1) Assembly. This was a real PITA. The flip top has very narrow clearances against the side panels - too wide and the locking levers won't catch the flip top, too narrow, and it doesn't spin/catches. There are a dozen small bolts on two cross pieces at the base that control the overall tension/squareness at the top, it took quite a while to shimmy pieces around to provide a stable top - and even so, I have to squeeze one corner together to get the locks to work. Make sure you mount your saw AS FAR TO THE REAR AS POSSIBLE - the side wing elevators are centered, but most saws have a fence that's on the front 1/3 of the overall saw depth, so the saw has to go as far as possible to catch the elevators width. 2) Parts quality. Excellent to poor, a mixed bag. The sheet metal work is fantastic, I just don't understand why some parts are plastic. The locking lever, and catches on the flip top, as well as the adjustment mounts system for the side elevators are plastic - I'm not convinced they'll last the life of the (expensive) system. 3) Use - I've gone through a few sessions of having to unpack and repack for storage. When "deployed" it's a LUXARY - the ample wing space supports boards and provides a work surface to catch misc. pencils, squares, notepads, off cuts, etc. When collapsed, the cross bar/handle does not slide up easily for me (goes back to the overall squareness of the sides). The pins are under alot of tension, and you'd need a second person to push them both in to be able to lift the handle - so you have to push one, shimmy 1/8 ", go to the other and repeat, then yank it up to have full use of the handle. The unit has to be tilted FAR back to the person to get the saw's mass over the wheels - it rolls nicely, but there should be a reinforced "kick plate" on the bottom rear - I'm a larger person, and if you just pull the handle back, the unit will roll towards you, unless you have wheel chalks or you push it forward with your foot. The balance point is precarious with the high center of gravity! Also note that the "cubed" storage shape is too wide to fit through many doors. Overall it was a good purchase, way more than I thought I'd spend on a miter stand (actually almost 2x the price of my reconditioned saw). I hope the plastic parts hold up, and it really is a nice workstation when all is said and done. I plan on building in some on-board storage in the base, as there's room there, and maybe figure out a mobile shroud to help with dust collection.

Okay, the good parts first. This goes together relatively easily. Instructions are pretty clear and, although it might be easier with another pair of hands, I was able to build this by myself. As with most things, reading the entire step ahead of time will help you greatly. I will say that setting your saw on it might be easier with another pair of hands as well but, again, I was able to do it by myself. I received a Hercules 12" Sliding Compound Miter saw as a gift, and it fits on here, but JUST barely. (Seriously, another 3/16" and I'd have been out of luck." The handle for moving takes a little getting used to. The easiest way I've found is to use your hands to push the spring loaded retainer button, and then push on top with your shoulders or chest to push it down into the receiver tubes until the button passes the retainer hole. Once set up, this is a nice looking unit. It works as you see in the videos, no real surprises. A couple of things I found fall short of my hopes, though. For starters, adjusting the side wings for level plane is not as intuitive as it could be. You have two bolts per side, and this could conceivably create racking front to back. So you have to move your straight edge to both positions to make certain it's in line with the main deck. The leveling assembly is not a single piece where you can thread the bolt out to adjust the angle. I think some modifications to this could really be a huge improvement. The same can be said of the process for adjusting the raised tables that work with the saw. Once you level your side tables, you'd assume that the raised tables would also be in line. But the tiniest deviation on the main table is increased when you raise these tables on plane with the saw. Also, most of us are very cautious about releasing one catch at a time on a piece, but that's what you have to do to set these tables back down. I'm hoping that over time this doesn't create racking in the slide. I like the fact that you can use the side wings with just the flat work surface. What you CAN'T do is apply any lateral pressure on this, or the entire frame shifts. I had a piece on top that I was using a hand plane on and taking very light passes. But any slight snag on the board cause the entire unit to rack sideways. I'm sure that for sanding and assembly processes, this won't be an issue. But don't plan on doing any thing that creates a sideways force. All in all I think it's a really versatile unit, and I'm looking forward to using it. I think if Bora looks into the few issues I mentioned (and I'm sure I'm not the first person to ever bring this up) they will have a system that really can't be beat.
