  • Trying to get a straight cut is luck of the draw.
Can't get a straight cut. I got everything installed and I even purchased the 55" straight clamp. Just not having a successful run with it. It can't be this hard.

  • Tighten the clamps!
Double-check and keep the clamps tightened or you risk cutting into the Bora aluminum track! Otherwise, it works well making long, straight cuts.

  • Great for making a small number of plywood cuts.
I only needed to cut down two sheets of cabinet grade plywood, but I needed the cuts to be pretty exact and the seams to be fairly precise on my finished section. Connecting the plate to my Rigid saw took a little adjustment, as did figuring out the off set of the blade from the edge of the track to get the correct size cuts. But with a little adjustment and some light math I was able to tear down both boards and get the quality of cut I needed for my small job. The Bora doesn't take up much room in the tool shed either when I'm not using it, so I'll definitely keep it around for cutting down sheet products in the future. I never would have gotten my money's worth out of a track saw, and I probably could have saved $20 or so and cobbled together a more DIY version of this from various parts. But the convenience of buying the Bora as a set and having Youtube videos showing how to do exactly what I needed was worth the few extra bucks. ... show more

  • great tool/system ... but...
this ended up being an awesome tool, but... BUT!! I did have to clean up the edges and surfaces that mate together.. This part slides inside the metal track. Both the "saw plate" and metal track(s) had unfinished rough edges and sticky glue that prevented them from sliding.. A little de-burring was needed to keep these from being returned as "defective"... The metal tracks also had nearly non-removable stickers in multiple sliding-contact locations. I needed to use laquer thinner to remove the glue. Now that all parts and areas have been smoothed, sanded and/or filed, this Bora system is absolutely awesome..!! I would DEFINITELY recommend this system.... but, you do have some up-front set-up work before use. ... show more

  • Caveat Emptor
I can only speak to overall construction and fitment/compatibility as I was unable to get it mounted on either of my circular saws. The Good + Solid build + Sturdy, satisfyingly secure clamps + Reverseable for south paw saws The Not So Good - Fits only a small subset of saws - Clamps are too bulky to fit - Older design (544006) with 2 front and 1 side clamps is more universally compatible Tested on: Makita 5007MGA, a much older Skilsaw - The clamps interfere with the depth/miter locking levers on the Makita, only the front and side-front ones can find purchase a all, and with the limited space available and the "waffle" design of the base makes it nye-on impossible. The Makita 5007FA with its flat steel base and smaller levers likely fits better. - The Skilsaw just flat out does not have anywhere the side clamps can reach. This version needs a saw base that is a) completely flat, rectangular steel and b) at least an inch of clearance between the base and motor housing. I returned this for exchange with the older, less expensive by half, Bora 544006 in hopes it will fit my Makita 2007MGA (a.k.a. The Precious) ... show more

  • Good stuff
This works great with the straight edge, just plop your saw on, set it straight, lock it in and it’s good to go. Haven’t set up the tape thing, but it doesn’t look like it really needs to be there.

  • Makes great cuts on NGX track, but does not reliably keep position on saw
I bought this to make clean & straight cuts on melamine shelving. The first few cuts turned out great! Yesterday I cut a stack of 6 shelves outside in the sun, and discovered that they were way off and crooked. It turns out that the rubber tips on the clamps and the traction strips on the plate do not work well when they get warm. I verified that all three clamps were nice and tight, and tried again -- the saw still wanders around. I have removed all 3 of those clamps, and have instead modified the base plate of my saw to have four 10-32 machine screw holes that align with holes that I've drilled through the Bora plate. So folks, mixed review on this one. The way this plate keeps the saw secure on NGX track is GREAT, but those clamps and traction strips really don't work when they get warm (hot sunny day). I've wasted a lot of time modifying my saw and this Bora plate to get a reliable saw position, and now I have to rework a stack of shelves that don't fit in our Pantry alcove. ... show more
