I have been interested in an eInk tablet device ever since I first bought a Kindle Paperwhite. I have waited years, and finally the technology seems to have caught up to something I can enjoy without being disappointed by limitations. After a great deal of research of the top three device brands and Amazon's new release of the Kindle Scribe, I landed on this product for the following reasons: - Onyx Boox is the only leading maker that supports the full features of Android (Remarkable, Kindle, and Supernote are all limited to their custom interfaces and features) - Screen size (most of the Boox line are smaller kindle-sized products; I wanted something closer to a standard tablet size that I could take notes and draw on) - Overall specs were not lacking in this device I have now had the device for a couple weeks, and would like to share my experience: - I have had a learning curve with the Android interface (it is my first Android device), but overall all of my hopes have been fulfilled. The interface supports download of all of the reading apps you could possibly want. I was also able to install a good drawing application, and have had a good experience with the pen. The built-in notes app has very good functionality, and I built myself a customized planner to replace my paper one. I was also able to download my social media apps. - Very responsive, with custom settings to balance speed and quality of images. This is a fully functioning tablet. The best way I can describe it is like having the newspaper in Harry Potter. My web browsing habits have greatly improved, with increased focus on artistic and literary content, rather than scrolling useless videos for hours. - Similar to my Kindle Paperwhite, eInk has been a great relief for my eyes. Where paper and LCD/LED both strain my eyes, I can spend hours on an eInk device without noticing any discomfort. - While battery performance could be better, I have no complaints as I am charging the device every other day, with significant usage each day.

This is my second Boox product. I liked my last one (the 13 inch monster), but it didn't have a backlight so I sold it a few months later. I bought this product a few weeks ago to serve two purposes: (1) be my daily reader and (2) be a distraction-reduced writing tool. For #1, it is great for reading. I love all of the options to give me a nice, smooth display. I like to read w/ continuous scrolling, and this works wonderfully on this tablet. As for #2, I bought the keyboard case and it is truly a great way to protect this product. And the keyboard is very, very usable. I docked one star because, like many others here already commented, my did come with a hot pixel. I could have returned it, but it isn't that noticible. But they apparently do have some quality control issues, which I hope they can workout. But overall, it is a great tablet and I'm glad I got it and would purchase it again.

I just got my hands on the BOOX Tablet Tab Ultra, and it's nothing short of amazing! Its 10.3-inch E Ink display is a total eye-saver, especially for someone like me who spends hours reading or jotting down notes. I received my notebook on November 30th 2023 and it worked just fine. On January 31st 2024 (2 months) the pen stopped writing on the notebook. I sent it a support message and received a "case #" and that is where it went downhill. I had already missed my opportunity to return it and the support has been a nightmare. I get a response to every 2 or 3 emails I send (days later) and always asking me for the exact same thing. I've sent videos of it not working, I've sent the purchase #, order #, the MAC address, the Electromagnetic Touch Version, etc. Sometimes my answers are in Chinese and they are always in the middle of the night between midnight and 3 am. I've asked to have a manager respond to me to no avail. This last email i received stated that if I didn't respond that my ticket will be closed. I responded and attached the 20 emails I had sent under that case #,hoping that might help, but I'm sure it wont. I oversee 4 Support Teams and I just can't believe how bad the service is. One of the responses led me to another link to submit another ticket where I again receive a case #, but no one has ever responded to that email. Basically, I spent $500 and got to use my notebook for 60 days. #booxfail Update June 14, 2024: Finally received an email letting me know that they can't fix my BOOX and that they will send me a refurbished model because they don't have any new ones. Guess we'll see...
