I have been interested in an eInk tablet device ever since I first bought a Kindle Paperwhite. I have waited years, and finally the technology seems to have caught up to something I can enjoy without being disappointed by limitations. After a great deal of research of the top three device brands and Amazon's new release of the Kindle Scribe, I landed on this product for the following reasons: - Onyx Boox is the only leading maker that supports the full features of Android (Remarkable, Kindle, and Supernote are all limited to their custom interfaces and features) - Screen size (most of the Boox line are smaller kindle-sized products; I wanted something closer to a standard tablet size that I could take notes and draw on) - Overall specs were not lacking in this device I have now had the device for a couple weeks, and would like to share my experience: - I have had a learning curve with the Android interface (it is my first Android device), but overall all of my hopes have been fulfilled. The interface supports download of all of the reading apps you could possibly want. I was also able to install a good drawing application, and have had a good experience with the pen. The built-in notes app has very good functionality, and I built myself a customized planner to replace my paper one. I was also able to download my social media apps. - Very responsive, with custom settings to balance speed and quality of images. This is a fully functioning tablet. The best way I can describe it is like having the newspaper in Harry Potter. My web browsing habits have greatly improved, with increased focus on artistic and literary content, rather than scrolling useless videos for hours. - Similar to my Kindle Paperwhite, eInk has been a great relief for my eyes. Where paper and LCD/LED both strain my eyes, I can spend hours on an eInk device without noticing any discomfort. - While battery performance could be better, I have no complaints as I am charging the device every other day, with significant usage each day.

I just got my hands on the BOOX Tablet Tab Ultra, and it's nothing short of amazing! Battery life is not great which was something i had seen from previous reviewers but it's fast and powerful. There's barely any ghosting or lag when scrolling or accessing apps which makes it usable as a tablet with e-ink technology. I could do without the camera as it adds unnecessary weight and is attached to their freemium service. There's only 1 hot pixel but is very distracting especially at nighttime, however, sending it back would take too long. The SD Card works great which was its biggest selling point for me. PDF wise.. it is able to handle large PDFs with nearly no lag so that was its second selling point for me. It doesn't feel as nice to write on the way the Note Air 2 Plus felt with its paper like screen but more like the iPad without a paper like screen protector. It works for my needs and I could overlook most of the little issues but the hot pixel kind of ruins the experience for me.

This device is perfect for what it was designed for. I bought my Tab Ultra to write my first book, I didn't want a tablet that I would be distracted by watching videos or playing games. This is a professional work device. It works great in all light conditions and if you report an issue the Boox support team is immediately working on it. I would definitely recommend this for people that want to be productive, read a book or be creative. Thank you to the people at Boox.
