I generally don’t mind assembling things and even enjoy it at times but these instructions were the worst I’ve ever seen. There are no words, only pictures…which doesn’t automatically make it bad, it’s the fact that the pictures do nothing to clarify what you’re looking at or the orientation, etc. As for the product itself, I really like it!! It seems sturdy and looks great in my new office. The price is also great in comparison to something at Staples, for instance. So once you get over the annoyance of the instructions and it’s all together and functioning, you’ll be happy with the purchase :) ... show more

I really like the locking filing cabinet. Whoever was the shipper left it at the bottom of our front steps. The cabinet was very heavy. My husband and I are in our 80s. We could not bring it in. We had to hire someone to bring it in for us.

Product misrepresented as easy to assemble. Instruction and illustrations are extremely lacking, had to research repeatedly on internet and YouTube to even make headway on identifying problems. 1. Sequence of assembly is confusing at best, and in some points just wrong, and no effort made to correct. 2. Had to manually drill holes that should have been predrilled, that required precision drilling for smooth operation of parts (found out after drilling that a punch should have been used for precision drilling) 3. No clear instructions on how to insert file drawers, leaving doubt as weather its done correctly, no effort made to clarify. 4. Locking bar that is install at top, that is crucial to being able to lock and secure file cabinet, still remains a mystery and is not installed. Being able to lock and secure files were a key option besides being easy to assemble in deciding to buy this. 5. After removal from packaging, returning product for refund is pretty much unrealistic This product should not be sold on Amazon for customers to decide after the fact that said product is pretty much useless as advertised and pretty much un-returnable after removing from shipping packaging. On top of this is the shipping fee of around $80. To summarize: Do Not Buy This File Cabinet, and Amazon should remove this Defective and miss-advertised product to protect Their Customers ... show more

It came completely unassembled. The screws were so cheap, they would strip out on both ends. I misplaced some screws and used some I had on hand. They tightened right up without stripping. Be aware, this unit is very flimsy until fully assembled. The screw holes were difficult to get to at the back of the cabinet. Some metal brackets were left over but they were for shipping purposes only. Also, a solid steel wire hanger was still inside the cabinet used to hang it for painting. The lock is not very secure. Childproof maybe. The metal is rather flimsy and there are lots of sharp edges. That's why a small pair of cotton web gloves are included. A screwdriver was included. Don't use a battery powered screwdriver as the screw holes will strip out necessitating a slightly bigger screw. I won't buy anymore of these. The only good thing is the bearing rollers on the drawer slides. They work pretty good. ... show more
