My toddler and i did this as a fun activity together. He loved it! But sadly, very few of ours sprouted and some even grew mold! The few that sprouted seemed to stop growing and die within the first inch or 2. I only had all 5 of the norway spruce seeds sprout. 1 flame tree sprouted, the rest molded. 2 Japanese black pine sprouted and none of the last one. Instructions were easy to follow and definitely had fun doing this with my toddler. The hardest part was waiting for them to grow! I would definitely gift this to someone in the future and try other products by this company. Im sure every environment is different, so maybe some will have better luck than i did! ... show more

UPDATE: Seller reached out very apologetically and addressed my concerns. Good people. Updating my review to 5 stars as a result. Followed directions. Only the evergreens have sprouted. Disappointed that the Flame Tree and Blue Jacaranda don't appear to have done anything after several weeks.

Got these for my girlfriend for Valentine’s Day, here’s her review: “My bf gifted this kit for Valentine’s Day and it was perfect! The instructions were pretty simple and it absolutely worked if you have Patience.. PATIENCE is key... The only thing that you must realize is that these kits do not in any way have anything artificial, so although you may have an expected germination date, Mother Nature does it’s thing and you have to be very patient. The bamboo pots and water holder are perfect for the plants, heads up! You may end up with more than 4 trees! I got a little obsessed with these and I just wanted to make sure all my seeds germinated. One batch didnt at all, so I contacted support to ask if I could get a couple replacements and they were lovely and sent me extra seeds! I will absolutely be ordering more from here. Excellent customer service and excellent product.. must keep soil moist but not over water them in order to help them germinate!” ... show more

I received this product quickly however it was poorly packaged. Surprisingly it arrived in one piece even though it sounded like it was in a million pieces in the envelope. When I opened the package, I saw that the glue had dissolved on one end of the box thus spilling the contents into the nonpadded envelope. It is excruciatingly hot in the Florida and glue evaporates on packages all the time so I don't totally blame the manufacturer on this one but it is a simple fix. Tape the ends of the box and problem solved! I was surprised to see 4 pots because I thought it only came with 3. Score for me! I do not have a green thumb whatsoever and I expected this kit to be dummy proof. I was disappointed to see it came with minimal directions. So I turned to YouTube and watched a few videos. The first step is to soak the seeds in a bowl of water for 24 hours. I read that if the seeds sink, they are good. If they float that means they are usually empty shells that will not germinate. I don't know how true that is but it is what I have read on several instructional sites. I was frustrated to see that two packs of seeds floated. All of them 😔 My favorite one that I was most excited for, the Jacaranda, all floated. Bummer. I had 2 seeds from the pack Picea Abies sink and all the seeds from Delonix Regia (the red one😁) sink. So not a total loss. The nutrients pack came in one pack instead of divided up into 4 packs. They included 4 little envelopes for the nutrition but I don't know why since they didn't utilize them. 🤔 Anyway, I can't wait until the first 24 hours is up and I can plant these little buggers. This is a well put together kit, very good quality and great, easy instructions. Best to note that it takes a long time to grow Bonsai trees so be patient!
