I am the gardener in my household. My wife on the other hand, used to be a plant killer - that is, until I got her Bonsai tree set last year. Those little seedlings are doing very well, and she grew them from seed. Her sister saw these and now got interested enough to start asking questions about Bonsai. My wife, now being a world leading expert in the topic, suggested that we get her a set too. So we ordered her sister the almost exact same set for Christmas, that started my wife on her path to growing Bonsai. Like my wife , she has now been reading books and watching YouTube video's all about Bonsai tree’s so that she gives them their best chance of surviving! LOL! The seedlings and kit itself, are also supplied with great instructions, along with numerous videos, to help the humble beginner. Even my wife's sister, cannot go wrong. This kit offers most things that a beginner would need – aside from a great deal of patience. The box, the pots, the seeds, the tools and the dried compost in pellets along with the mixed volcanic rock-mix. We have been pretty impressed with all the included contents and the prices of these kits, especially as they are for beginners. It is still too early for us to tell what will happen once she plants her seeds in the spring. We are extremely excited for her, but we shall see what still survives, a year from now… LOL!

this bonsai growing kit is super fun and you can do it with the whole family. although they haven’t grown yet planting them was still super fun to do. it comes with instructions on how to do it and they are very easy to follow. the box it comes in is what they get planted in and it is super cute. overall i would recommend if you are someone who likes this kind of thing.

I just planted the seeds for this kit so it remains to be seen how well they would do but I've had a kit from this company before and my little bonsai's are doing fabulously. Zero moldiness, and they sprouted perfectly. Excellent value for the money considering you're getting four mini bonsai's. Easy to set up and easy to plant and the size is absolutely perfect. It's not overwhelming but yet it's not minuscule either. My plants right now are currently approximately 6 in tall so I'm hoping this kit here will do just as well. So far so good and I'm hoping to see sprouting sometime soon, I will give an update once I do.

I had been looking at bonsai trees for a while and was thinking about trying to grow some that maybe I could plant on my land in a couple of years after I get stuff built to move there. When I saw this kit on Amazon Vine, I figured I would go ahead and give it a shot since 2 of the 4 kinds of seeds in this kit should be able to grow in my area. The other 2 could be very nice as inside bonsais. I like the nice wooden box the kit comes in, and it works well to keep all the stuff in it since I didn’t intend to plant everything right away, because I don’t know where I would find space to put dozens of trees if everything grew. I haven’t perfectly counted all the seeds since I thought it might be best to leave the ones I wasn’t using yet unhandled in their bags, but I got 6 Delonix Regia seeds, 14 Locust Tree seeds, I’m estimating around 100 Black Pine seeds, and around 20-30 Jacaranda seeds. The instructions are simple and easy to follow, though I found I needed 2-3 times as much water as it said to use in order to fully expand the soil disks. Maybe it was supposed to say add 3-4 cups of water instead ¾ cup of water, because I was doing 1 soil disk at a time instead of all of them at once and had to use about ¾ cups of water per disk. So far, I haven’t seen any sprouts, but I’m only at the beginning of the germination period since the instructions say 10-90 days. At first I only planted 4 Black Pine seeds in one of the jute bags, since those are the ones I was most interested in planting on my land eventually. Now I have planted 4 Locust Tree seeds and 4 Jacaranda seeds as well, because I’m afraid my Black Pine seeds may never sprout since they never sank during the seed soaking process. All 4 Locust Tree seeds I soaked sank immediately. 2 out of 4 Jacaranda seeds sank after somewhere between 20 and 36 hours of soaking. I have 4 more Black Pine seeds soaking now going on 60 hours, well beyond the 12-24 hour period the instructions say, but they haven’t sunk either. I’m hoping they will sprout regardless, but right now I’m feeling like I might have better luck with the Locust and Jacaranda seeds. The wooden sign and part of the jute bag also molded on my first bag of Black Pine seeds, but I may have overwatered them one day and/or kept them covered under plastic wrap for too long. So I’m afraid I could have ruined the first batch, but fortunately I have plenty more Black Pine seeds to keep trying with. I’m going to give this kit 4 stars for now, because it seems good, but I need more time to see if I’m actually going to be successful in growing anything with it. I intend to come back and update my review once I have some sprouts or have gone well beyond the germination period without any sprouts to improve or decrease my rating accordingly.

I have been wanting a Bonsai tree for some time and could not find one so whats even better, grow your own. What a fun process to get these planted and start watching them grow. I planted them with my children which was a great family project. All necessary items were included to make this project a success. Looking forward to watching these grow and triming them.

I wasn't sure what to expect, but when this arrived I was really impressed with the nice wooden box and all the miniature tools and growing aids. I got this as a gift for my daughter who just loves plants/planting/gardening. She was really excited. She loves that she will be growing her own bonsai from seeds and not buying one already made. Absolute win. Great kit.

Dont know what is going on but received 2 and only ordered one. Love the product but dont understand how i git 2.. if ordering make sure they understand your order. Second time happened so will not order from them again. Unfortunate..
