We put this firepit in our backyard. We have desert landscaping and the firepit was the finishing touch. I love the look. It’s not too heavy, or too big, but substantial. Heat output is good too. And best of all, no smoke!!!

    • Costs too much for what it is
It's a decent product, but it costs too much. The casting material won't take a hard hit. The area where the controls are mounted is particularly thin and an accident waiting to happen when and if the controls are kicked by an errant foot. It is possible to convert this to natural gas, my intent, but it's not easy. The manufacturer used permanent locktite on the key hose fitting, making simple substitution of a nat gas hose for the propane hose impossible. You'd have to cut the hose and use a connected hose setup. But a nat gas hose can be connected to the brass orifice piece, bypassing the valve. There are not enough lava rocks included. 1/3 to 1/2 more are needed. ... show more

We wanted a gas fire pit for our back patio, for some heat and a lot of ambience. We did not want the cheaper looking metal ones and didn't want to spend $2000 for the "other" round ones I saw. This came with no damage, lights up easily and exactly as described, and is just beautiful to watch. I like that we can add some additional volcanic rock or decorative stones if we want to. Do not expect this to keep you truly warm on a cold night, it's not designed for that. ... show more

Perfect size, great flame. Need to figure out how to hide the propane hose but love everything else about it. Going to make a this for it so when not in use, it can be more like a table

What's not to love? The substantial size allows for 8 people to comfortably sit around it. It isn't your run of the mill, home improvement store looking firepit. It looks fablous on our lakeside deck. We haven't had any problems with it so far and I would buy it again in a New York minute. There are only two things that I would mention just so others aren't disappointed (I wasn't, but others might have different expectations)--if you live in a place that gets really cold in the winter and are expecting it to keep you toasty warm, you won't be very happy. We've been using it on 70 to 80 F evenings and the only person who might start to feel too warm and have to move is the one sitting directly down wind of it. We actually prop our feet on the rim. The only other item that might disappoint some people is the fact that the lava rocks do not fill the bowl as completely as pictured and they are somewhat smaller in size. I just bought a 10-pound jug of reflective fire glass and sprinkled it on top of the lava. It adds a nice sparkle when the fire is burning. We have been shopping for a firepit for several years and this one had exactly the look I wanted and the price was very reasonable compaired to similar styles which ran as high as $1,800.00. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a firepit more for the ambience than for the heat. For us it's perfect. ... show more

It stated in the description it would to be a cover to come with the fire pit when opening up it was not a cover and the fire pit. Totally disappointing.
