My wife had wanted one of these so here we are. It is a much better product than standard metal files or boards. It seems to seal the nail and leave a nice smooth edge. It works very quickly and seems to have 2 sides (coarser and finer side). These are delicate though, and you should take much care to not use them over a hard surface. If they drop it's going to break. It's best to use a little water with the file too, it helps reduce dust. When you're through just use a drop of hand soap or dish liquid and lukewarm water, then let it dry. I've found a use for it too, due to dry cracking finger skin from working. use some water, and you can use it so gently work those areas helping greatly.

Bona Fide Beauty Czech Glass Crystal Nail File are truly the best of class! I’ve been purchasing this style of nail file for awhile, ever since my daughter said “Mom, I can’t believe you’re still using that old nail file. Haven’t you ever tried these?” I’ve never looked back! And this is definitely the best brand. I have temperamental nails that break, crack, chip, and peel. I have been taking collagen and biotin and have seen truly amazing results. With a family full of girls, this is the best nail file we have found. We had an excellent glass file several years ago but every replacement up until now has fallen short. This is an improvement over the old one. The space at the end to hold it makes filing easier. The course side is not too course, but still works for thicker nails or rough tears. The fine side is perfect for smooth edges. I have thin nails that break and tear easily. This file has been a life-saver for my nails. I'm able to smooth out the break so that I don't have to cut the nail too far back. The finer side seems to seal the break or something, so it does not continue or get worse. I love this so much, I've given one to every member of the family. They all have raved about how much they love it.

Classic nail files make the hair on my arm stand up because of the nails on a chalkboard sound they make so I tried one of these out years ago and haven’t gone back since. However, all glass nail files are not made the same. I’ve tried buying cheaper ones that come in a set of three and it was a mistake. They are cheaply made and don’t actually file your nails well. This one does! It doesn’t wear down with time and it comes with a case that should it fall on the floor will keep it from cracking. Only downside to a glass nail file is it can break if it falls but you can still use it if it does and surprisingly, I’ve dropped this one on the ground a few times and haven’t broken it. Have gifted as a stocking stuffer and keep one in the house and in my car!

Edit-The seller reached out to me and offered to provide a replacement file. They never asked me to make any changes to my review. Very good and kind seller! I have had this glass nail file for just shy of 10 months. I like it very much. I surely figured I would have dropped it and broken it by now, but no! Instead, I started noticing that the bumps on the plastic case that keep it snapped shut had slowly worn to the point that the case would open with no effort. The top could just fall off. A few days ago, I had the file in the case on my bed prior to doing a manicure. The case had slid under a soft pillow I was leaning on where I found it with the case open partially. I didn't end up using it that day, but the next time I went to use it, I took off the top of the case and saw no file. I quickly figured out what had happened. When some pressure was put on the case when it was slightly open, it was enough to snap the file inside. The only upside is that the smaller shards of glass were contained in the case, but now I'm out a file. I'm going to search for a different brand that looks like it may have a sturdier case because I really like these glass files!

I was looking for a replacement for the cardboard files as I’m tired of paying so much for files that maybe last 2 weeks. I was thinking of stone but found the glass/crystal rabbit hole. I ordered 3 different ones that claimed to be fine. This was the only one that really was as fine as I need for my brittle nails. I’d guess somewhere around the 300-400 grit. The other seemed to be 180-240. If your nails tend to splinter or shred if the file isn’t fine enough this one should work.

This glass nail file is perfect. I have tried 2 other brands, and they can't compare. This file is a bit longer than others, which makes it easier to maneuver. It seems to be stronger than others, which is important, as these files can break easily. It also glides along my nails smoother than others. Definitely a keeper and highly recommend.

Excellent nail file. Isn’t too rough. Love that this comes with a case, perfect for storage and travel. I appreciate that as opposed to other nail files this one can be cleaned with soapy water and air dried. Will consider giving as a gift.
