This toy is so cute. I did a lot of research before I bought it. I kept reading that a lot of them have terrible feedback on the microphone. The microphone on this one works and does not have that awful feedback! The beeping noise it makes is pretty loud so bummer for parents but thrilling for the kiddos lol. My daughter likes how the belt moves and using the scanner. It's not the most sturdy item ever, the cash drawer on the unit we recieved is a little wonky and does not open all the way without tugging on it....but overall it's a fun toy. I got this register as a replacement to a smaller, less involved one that would randomly make high pitched sounds in the middle of the night and scare my boy. This one is SO MUCH COOLER! The microphone actually works, so “cleanup on aisle 3” is way more fun to say! And the conveyor belt is just awesome. It looks small, but it’s impressive. It didn’t work at first because we had old batteries, thankfully it works great with fresh ones. Our son asks to play grocery shopping just about every day now. There’s a lot of buttons and things to keep us busy. For extra fun, pull up YouTube on your phone and play old 70’s supermarket music lol , really adds that extra touch! ... show more

I bought this for my son when he was 2 1/2 years old and he loved it so much but the scanner belt eventually broke and same for the microphone. He is now 4 1/2 and was still talking about his old cash register so I bought it now for the second time. It’s cute because it does have a working microphone and it does make the normal beeps of a cash register when you push the hand scanner. It comes with some ‘cash & coins’, a credit card that swipes and makes noise, a basket for ‘checking-out’ and a few food boxes. The food boxes are almost pointless because they are just flimsy light cardboard, so they mostly have to be taped with clear tape to stay in a box shape, but we use it with other kitchen food we have. The scanner belt does work & rotate. Overall it’s a good cash register that will definitely entertain your little ones. I hope this one lasts longer than the last one but I still believe we got a fair use out of it. ... show more

It’s a gift for my son, so I will update if by some miracle he doesn’t like it. I love it! The conveyer belt alone will make this a favorite, but there’s also the microphone, the working calculator, the credit card reader with lights and sounds and the scanner that beeps and lights!!! I could not recommend this more highly. This is from a mom whose 3 year old loves helping her check out at the supermarket. I read a number of reviews and the company seems to have responded to at least one recurring complaint. I did not need a screwdriver to get the item out of the box — just a few twists. I also appreciate that it came with some starter batteries installed, so it’s ready for the big surprise. I’m nervous that the conveyor belt will stop working (based on some of the reviews). If that happens, I will update. It seems pretty strong so far, and I did a little test playing before I wrapped it up. ... show more

I am so impressed with Boley- they went out of their way to help us with an issue we had with our order. Will definitely be purchasing products from them again. My son loves this cash register. The working microphone, conveyor belt, and pop up when the credit card is used are his favorite features!

I bought this toy cash register after lots of research- the fact that it was voted best on the internet helped with my decision. HOWEVER apparently I have very different expectations when it comes to quality and functionality. Some things that were pointed out in the negatives in the reviews here are true- 1) the chord for the scanner is so short that it’s almost pointless- however (and I’m sure the makers with disagree) if you take the cash register side off (screws on the bottom) and you take the back off the scanner, you will find a knot in both ends of the chord- when untied, the chord is more useable. To prevent “pull” which is what I think they were going for, I put hot glue on both ends where the chord comes out of the toy. 2) Also note that the scale does register, but with very heavy items only. 3)The bar codes on the items do not work...they do not put a dollar amount on the screen and the “scanner” on the conveyor belt has to be pushed down in to get it to beep. 4) Also note that the convey belt is very loud-and so is the “pop up approved”. 5)The drawer barely opens. It can be pulled out a little farther than the spring ejects it to, but it is not that easy to get to the money (which is very cheap looking and feeling - the coins have different values printed on them, also in blue, but they are all the same size and are 10, 25 and 50 cents and the paper money came bent as it was in the bottom of the little basket. 6) The 4 items that came as groceries are all cardboard and held together by tape (plus 3 are junk food items) 7) the microphone speaker is under the toy so it’s barely audible 8) the little basket that comes with it is also almost pointless- when you put the 4 groceries inside, their is barely room for fingers to grab the handle, which because their is only 1, the whole basket tips. I really am very disappointed in this toy. ... show more
