I wanted to find a baby monitor that had an offline FHSS video screen with the option to connect to it over WiFi via a smartphone app (called CloudEdge). I also wanted the option to buy an additional baby monitor camera later on in case I liked it enough to have one in a go bag and one in a permanent spot and not have 2 separate video screens. After a lot of digging around, this Boifun baby monitor checked all of those boxes and is at a good price point. The video screen is easy to control and has some good features and works out of the box with no setup. The little kickstand is nice, I can bring it with me to the bathroom or stand it up in the kitchen while doing dishes. Both the video screen and the camera use MICRO USB for power - and the camera must be plugged in at all times. The smartphone app used to connect via WiFi is called CloudEdge, a software many non-name brand security cameras/monitors use. It can do just about everything the video screen can do: 2 way talking, zoom, camera controls, screenshots, monitor settings. You can create a "family" for the camera and invite other people to sign up and have access to the camera. If you try to share an account it will kick out whoever's logged in if you try to access from a different phone. The camera also does not come connected to CloudEdge (or WiFi) by default - so you can keep the camera completely offline if you never setup WiFi or decide to remove the camera from CloudEdge. The camera itself looks nice and has decent night vision that automatically kicks on. It comes with some screws and the ability to mount it somewhere from the bottom. Otherwise you can just plop it down anywhere. The camera has a wide range it can move, although I wish it could move downwards a bit more. It should be noted, both Boifun and the CloudEdge app are based out of China. After my own research, they both seem to be pretty reputable companies. But I can confirm the offline/local FHSS connection works great, we used it without even setting up the app for the first few weeks. All in all, it's a great product for the price, with dual offline/online functionality that very few similar products have. I've just bought an addon camera after a couple months of owning this and am assuming I can sync it right up to my current video screen/app. I will edit this review if it doesn't work. ... show more

I bought this camera as an upgrade (my old baby monitor was basic) and the motion alarm and motion tracking are great. I’ve been able to get my baby to settle sooner since I get a buzz that he is up and moving or crying (and that let’s me get to him sooner) Also the app was a game changer and me and my hubs can watch baby wherever we are. I love that you can also manage all the features from your phone like setting the alarms, moving the camera, nightlight and music. Picture is clear and camera has good rotation. I didn’t mount it, it’s on our dresser, but still gets a wide angle and moves to follow my baby when he crawls to the other side. Def recommend. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. When our infant grandson comes for a visit, we hate to have our kids pack all their baby equipment for the trip here. This monitor is actually a step up from the one they use at their home. The picture quality from this camera to this monitor is amazing and in full color during the day and the night vision has great clarity. The camera doubles as a night light and will also play lullabies or white noise to help slip him into sleep. The zoom quality is a really nice feature as is the monitor's display of time, temperature and humidity in the room, and the battery level. You control everything through the monitor. It was so easy to power the system up and have the camera and monitor link together. Wi-Fi is not required to operate this unit when using the included monitor. There are numerous settings you can easily access through the monitors menu to adjust everything from the color of the night light, the brightness of the monitor's display, and the individual levels of motion detection, noise detection and cry detection you want to trigger the unit's alarm. With the insertion of a SD card (FAT 32 format required) you can even take pictures and videos. When our grandson isn't here, my wife and I have this camera focused on our rescued "fur baby" when he's in his kennel. ... show more

I have 3 children and we have used camera baby monitors for our youngest two, as they weren’t out when our oldest was a baby. 😂😂 Through the years we’ve used many brands, and I’m shocked to see that this camera offers better picture & sound than most. I love the cry & movement detection- we chose to keep the sound detection off. Our son just turned one at the end of April and has already figured out how to climb over his crib. So I absolutely love the motion tracking, and I’m very happy with the camera alerting us if baby tries to climb out of his crib. The app is simple to sync to your monitor system, which the system itself is even more easy to set up. I can’t tell you how happy and shocked we are to have such a great baby monitor camera system at such a great price! You can’t beat it!!! The I my reason I gave 4 stars and not 5- is because we have to pay to see recordings of our baby. Other minister systems do not charge for that. I did see it can take an SD card- so we’ll most likely look into that. ... show more
