First of all, apologies for the poor photo; I was trying to keep my screen covered as much as possible with the box. As you can see, the box has photographs of how to install the shelf, which is easy to understand! It is a pretty large shelf; I had my phone resting on it along with the chapstick and laser mouse cat toy but I had to pick it up to take the photograph, so that's why there isn't much to see! Why four out of five stars? Well, even though pictures show a small plant or cup of coffee sitting on the shelf, I would not feel confident storing anything on the shelf that could potentially spill and ruin the electronics beneath it. The shelf is very light and made of plastic, which is why I have trust issues with liquid things. It would be great for phone, keys, chapstick - things you grab and take with you when going out; heavier items, I'd have more concern storing up there.

I've had this on my work monitor for a few months now and I absolutely love it! My figures are in a spot where they're safe from harm (as opposed to being just on my desk) and they're directly within my eyeline. I was worried about the hold which is why I held off on reviewing for so long but it seems those worries were unfounded. This has never fallen, there's no signs of cracking in any of the plastic and it looks brand new. Took all of 2minutes to put up and there's a decent amount of space on top. This would be super cute for plants (as long as the pot is small, too much weight isn't advisable). My monitor is 32" and I could fit at least two of these if I wanted a long shelf across the top. Overall really impressed with this unique product! Only thing I would change is the large printed logo on the front, but I can just scrape that off with a razor blade :)

If you've set up a webcam, you know how to set up this shelf — the process is pretty much the same. Just hook the front lip over the top of your monitor, and then adjust the back "leg" until it's braced/balanced. That's it! It was super easy to install and didn't require any additional tools. Once it's set up, it can hold a surprising amount of stuff! Use common sense, obviously, and don't overload your poor monitor with super heavy objects; however, for normal usage it works awesome! I usually keep my timer, an emergency snack (sometimes I write for long hours and forget to eat), some spare pens, a hair clip, and a couple other odds and ends. Lately, I've been keeping a "Thought of the Day"/Affirmation card on display on my lil Bodur shelf as well, but you could just as easily keep a calendar or whatever you'd like there. For example, if you're sent a birthday card you could keep it on display via your monitor shelf so you could see it throughout your work day without it getting in the way of your actual workspace :) This is a great lil shelf and I'm happy to have it. I think you will be too! (Oh, and if it helps: I have a 15" monitor).

I bought this shelf to hold a digital tuner above my home office TV, and while it sort of works, it is far from ideal. It works of of counterbalance and cantilever construction with an adjustable bracket towards the back pushing against the back of the TV or monitor, and using the weight of the items placed on it, the weight of the shelf (which is very light and flimsy plastic), and/or the wall to counter is tendency to fall. The problem lies in having enough room to put it far enough back that the center of gravity is above the monitor itself. Too much either way, and it falls forward or back. If it is something you're going to put up or if reach and not bump or alter the contents of, it will probably be fine. The brand name in big white letters on the front is unnecessary and detracting, though I do appreciate the two holes in the back of the alley for cable pass through. My TV is closely mounted to the wall, which means the shelf isn't big enough to allow room for the cables behind my rather small tuner. I am getting right angle adapters to alleviate this, but overall, this shelf isn't sturdy or stable enough for my use. A slight lip projecting from the bottom of the shelf to sit against the bezel of the TV would help prevent tipping backwards, though it would do nothing to prevent falling forward.
