I thought this would be more helpful than it is. But I'm probably not using it right. I don't use it for frothing milk but for mixing very small amounts of things. I was hoping it would fluff up my eggs better. It's still nice to have and it is useful but it's not very powerful. Still helpful in the kitchen though. There's an art to it, but once you figure it out, you will get great froth. I only use this on dairy milk. It does burn through AA batteries every week or so. I am happy with my purchase.

I've purchased this brand of frother before, and I'd guess it lasted about a year, Bought this one to replace our previous frother of the same brand, and it didn't work from the get-go. Bummer since its really not worth running around to return it.

When it arrived I put in two AA batteries. It started right up from a tight toggle switch at the top. It took a bit of getting used to, moving the switch with my thumb, and holding the gadget in my palm. Either, the toggle loosened up or my thumb became familiar with turning it on, so now it's easy and not awkward, and I can run it with one hand. It's a powerful tool and works better than the one I had before (a different brand) which stopped working. It's easy to clean, since I just use it for mixing powdered Vitamin C and anything else that's light and easily dis-solvable... I run it under hot water to clean. I did try to froth up some whipping cream for my coffee, and perhaps I didn't do it for long enough, but it wasn't as stiff as I'd like- it probably works better with 1/2 & 1/2. I really like how study it is and the price is right. ... show more

Amazon review 10/10/2022 for the Bodum Schiuma Battery Operated Milk Frother, 8.5 Inches, Black. This device barely manages to work (hold near the top surface of the milk). It does expand the volume of the milks and creates a froth made of air. Once this froth is mixed with coffee, the froth subsides within a minute. This is very different than froth made via other methods where the froth becomes more creamy due to the frothing process (not just inserting air). The unit is also not capable of mixing powered drinks such as protein powders with water. This is not an advertised purpose but some people think of using it this way.
