So far, I love it. I took other reviewer advice and rinsed the lava rock. Took me a couple tries to auto start but figured it out. I have a Fiat that I load up and head out camping. The media could not be loaded. Bluu has done it again for those who enjoy the outdoors! If that's you, BUY THIS NOW! This fire bowl starts with the rugged packaging. Carefully thought out and planned with thick cardboard bumpers on the bottom, styrofoam supports and every space utilized to cut down on unnecessary bulk while keeping the internals safe and padded. Everything comes individually wrapped right down to the 4 or 5 bags of lava rocks that come included! Folding out the legs is a quick pull tab on all three legs and are very stable vs competitors flimsy tubing. The propane tank line is unwound from its base and ran to the tank. They give you a LONG amount of line to hide the tank out of sight where it screws on with ease and zero guess work. Ignition is super easy. CLICK IN and you'll hear the propane enter the line "HISSSSSSS" then turn the knob to the left from the 1200 to the 0900 till you hear a loud click (PIEZO IGNITER) and PRESTO FLAME-O! Hold the button in for another 15 seconds to allow the thermo-coupler to heat up and then you are hands free! Set flame height and heat 0900 being the HIGHEST and 0600 being the lowest. (NOTE: If the flame will not stay when you let go after a full minute, the thermocoupler may be damaged or not touching. Contact Bluu's Amazing Customer Service Team. They walked me through some trouble shooting and afterwards sent me a brand new unit hassle free!) The INCLUDED lava rocks surround the bottom so the flames appear to be coming up beneath them and the INCLUDED grill insert allows you to place any pots to boil water and cook on. After the fun is done, cut turn off the propane at the tank and allow the propane to run completely out of the line, turning it off at the fire bowl shortly after. Place the INCLUDED lid on top and allow unit to cool fully. After unit is completely cool, fold legs, wrap the propane lane around the base and attach INCLUDED carrying straps to lock everything in place!. This lightweight unit will stow away in a deck box, cargo compartment of a fifth wheel or your trunk for any Impromptu camping trip or drum circle on the beach! As you see in the video, the heat kept me warm in 15 degree windy weather and threw the heat outwards 360 degrees allowing all that sit around it a toasty time! ... show more

I'm updating my review to include great customer support regarding the faulty starter. They gracefully sent me a new unit that works as designed. I'd still gladly pay more for an electric or plunger type starter. Other than that, I am extremely pleased with this fire pit. I've taken it on a camping trip and it has exceeded all my hopes and expectations. One trick if you buy one, is to dump all of the rocks into a big bucket and thoroughly wash them before using them. They have a huge amount of rock dust on them and if you don't do that it will all end up in your trunk or car or however you're transporting. Not an issue if you are just going to use it in the backyard on the dirt. Old review below: I'm happy overall with the fire pit / cooking grate. However, like others on here, I'm disappointed that the piezoelectric starter only works occasionally. I have used these on many other devices and I know that they can be pretty foolproof. Unfortunately it's one of those things that either needs to work all the time or none of the time. It really stinks when you go to light it and the gas is pouring out and the fumes are gathering and it doesn't light and it doesn't light and then pop - it suddenly lights. Mine is probably starting about one in every seven attempts. Unless the manufacturer sends me a replacement starter I'm going to keep the unit but just default to using a lighter. ... show more

It'd be nice if it was a bit smaller, but this is the only firepit I could find with a grill. Works well with 5Lb propane tank. Still having struggles to start fire, but getting used to it. Definitely would recommend.

I was worried it would not be warm enough for our Colorado high altitude nights in the Rockies, but this thing cranks! No more smokey smelling clothes in the camper. I had a spare propane tank anyway so it was easy to set up. It fits nicely in the nose storage area of our bumper pull camper.
