The patchs at the rounded corners are good quality. The extra support legs helped add to high wind resistance. However, the handle and telescopic stem feel no different from that of a normal $5 umbrella; too much lateral play between stem columns and handle is not solid not long enough to hold steadily during a storm. ... show more

Have not yet used this in the rain but I researched umbrellas prior to purchase. It seems well made and the open/close mechanism appears to work well. I can't give it 5 stars because I haven't had it out in rainy weather yet!

This is my second Blunt compact umbrella. The yellow stands out on bad weather, making it easy for a pedestrian to be seen. Living in a small city, it's important to pedestrians to stand out so as to remain safe! Blunt design is outstanding, whether in compact or full-size umbrellas! Bravo Blunt!
