  • Cd player
Love it very retro - the sound is nice

  • Incredible In Every Way
This is one of my very favorite things I have ever received from Vine. Everything is just perfect. 1. The somewhat retro appearance is very cool. It has the appearance and control knobs that remind me of a high quality vintage stereo system from the late 70's or 80's. The wood, control panel and fabric look very high end and luxurious. 2. Everything operates so nicely. Both the CD player and the Blu Tooth pairing. The remote control is convenient and intuitive. 3. It sounds fabulous, both for CDs and blue tooth. It has a rich, full bodied sound. The bass is clearly defined and has a presence but is not overbearing. I have a bunch of blue tooth speakers, some that cost more than this, and this one sounds better than them all. 4. This is the best of both worlds. An old school CD player and radio, plus Blue Tooth. The size is substantial but not too big. It's funny. In the early 80's I bought my first expensive cassette boom box for $100 (worth over $300 in today's dollars). This unit is currently selling for 85 dollars! What an incredible deal! There is not one single thing that I don't love about this product. I am just so excited to have it. It truly takes me back to a different time when stereos were more of a luxury and sounded like it. I can't recommend this enough! ... show more

  • Fantastic stereo
I've bought similar systems before and I've always been somewhat let downed by the quality, especially in sound, but this one is just wow. Very impressive for a small box. The finish is a nice beech color finished with white accents and darkened tinted plastic. It can be used with a bluetooth device to provide input of music, or you can use a usb (has certain size limitations of 128g if I'm not mistaken) or aux in (mp3 player, etc) or maybe the radio (fm only), or cd player which can read cd-r/rw. Includes a nice remote that uses two AAA batteries (no included). Control works well from anywhere. Antenna is kind of weak, would've preferred a loop antenna. The stereo also includes preset equalizer sound settings which I really like, because you can change it to suit the music. Bass is pretty good for a small form, highs are clear especially when using bluetooth or usb. The best part is the headphone jack can be used to connect headphones, and even speakers! Gotta say there's so much in this little box, I really like it. Definitely recommend it. Impressive sound, good options for input and fits pretty much anywhere. ... show more

  • A nice system with lots to recommend it
Good looking and capable with lots of features this unit could be a nice addition to home or office. The blonde wood-grained cabinet goes well with the cream colored speaker cloth and it's all nicely offset by the satin panel and dark display lens and CD door. The system comes complete with a remote control, line cord, a cable for AUX input, a quick start guide and a comprehensive manual. The remote takes 2 AAA batteries (not included). Listening over a week or so to music from various sources and genres left me pretty impressed given its size and price. The panel is attractive with a blue 7 segment display and a few icons to show the source, file type etc. Volume control is excellent with a lot of adjustment in the lower range to find the perfect level. Buttons handle most other functions but many are shared between multiple functions which have a learning curve. The remote control with dedicated buttons for EQ and program selection is easier to use than the panel buttons. There is no AM but FM radio works well with a good signal. We are in a fringe area but it scanned to a couple of stations and sounded decent with a good signal. The FM antenna is a single wire on a rear connector about 52" long that has to be stretched out for best reception. If you don't need FM you can easily disconnect the antenna. Stations are tuned using buttons to scan to the next strong signal or using short taps on the buttons to tune up and down the dial. Up to 30 presets are available. The CD player plays standard audio CDs as well as CD-R with audio files in .MP3 or .WMA formats. Files on CD-R can be arranged in folders and the next song selection will move to the next folder seamlessly. The remote has buttons to advance to the next song or the next folder as desired. CD playback was flawless over ~30 discs, both CD audio and CD-R. Playing from a USB drive supports the same file features as the CD-R. Up to 128GB sticks may be used. The manual says it can take up to 30 seconds to load from a big USB-mine were pretty fast. Installed, the USB stick protrudes from the panel inviting bumping. Bluetooth 5.0 is included supporting 24bit/192KHz lossless with 300m range according to the manual. It pairs easily to multiple devices. I tried it with a couple of Android tablets as well as 2 iPhone 15s. Taking the various source qualities into account, all worked very well with clear, solid sound. Streaming from Spotify sounded particularly good. Playing through the AUX input from several devices was flawless. The jack itself could be more robust. Flexing the plug a bit caused ground hum but left alone, it worked OK. The sound was better than expected depending on what was playing, especially with a clean, sparse mix. The highs are well defined and bass and drums have a nice presence for things like small jazz groups, clean vocalists, acoustic guitar, sax solos, etc. All sounded very good, instruments and vocals coming through with decent bass presence. 80's power rock, hip hop, big orchestrations with heavy back ends or lots of instrumentation were OK but lacking some sparkle - there is just so much you can ask of modest power into 3" speakers. Listening to all of that with several different headphones and ear buds sounds fine with no discernable pre-amp noise or hiss. I tried a set of Klipsch desktop powered speakers with subwoofer and while the headphone levels didn't drive the speakers very hard, they still were loud and clear. Picking nits: I don't love the stiff, clicky, and sometimes balky button controls. Sometimes the power button takes 2 hits to turn it off which is not great. Several buttons have dual functions that are not well explained in the manual, I just use the remote. The display can't show file or folder names. All in all a very good choice for an office, side room, dorm and similar spaces. Even if you just stream from a phone, it would be hard to find a dedicated Bluetooth speaker, in stereo no less, that sounded as good for anywhere near this price point. ... show more

  • All-In-One Stereo System
I like to listen to music when I workout, and my old little "boom box" was getting slightly funky, so I gave it away and got this. I prefer speakers to ear buds, especially when I'm sweaty, and over all don't care to have things in my ears for too long or too often. This is a truly excellent unit for the money, and I can listen to my favorite local Jazz station or CD's while I exercise. It will play any sort of audio CD, CD-R. Given the speaker size, the sound, from the highest treble to lowest bass, is quite rich and clear. While I usually don't, you can listen to music from USB stick, as well as any Blu Tooth sending device. The unit has a very cool "retro modern" look, and the controls are easy to use, and are mostly intuitive. This will fit in with any decor. It comes with a remote, (you need 2 AAA batteries,) AC cord, and a very detailed manual, as well as a "quick start guide," which is really all you need. For my use, or for a dorm room, a guest room, a tiny home, or even a condo or apartment, you can fill a room with music in a very space-saving and convenient package. Very cool. Amazon currently has both a coupon or discount code for 15% off, making this just a hair over $80. (3/10/2025.) ... show more
