  • 13-month Workout Review: Fantastic, especially for the price
Color: Black
I have been dying to write a review for months, because these headphones are really that good. Disclaimer: I use these almost exclusively for working out and occasionally for hands free phone calls around the house and walking to the grocery store. In order of importance to me, for working out: 1. The fit: Excellent, for me that is. I use the tips that came with them and have had zero issues with the buds themselves. The only flaw I can find, and I have to be looking for a flaw in the fit to find one, is the cord. For some reason, the natural shape of the cord is not perfectly fluid, meaning it tends to gravitate to the left side of my head instead of the center. This only happens when I wear the strap behind me, as I do for everything except back squats and lunges with the bar on my shoulders. I find the fit to be incredibly comfortable, and the drawback of the cord overshadows the advantage of never losing them and being able to carry them around my neck when they're not in. 2. The sound: Very good. I am by no means an audiophile, but I know bad speakers/headphones when I hear them. These are not those. These do have good bass (I mostly listen to hip-hop, oldies, and podcasts - don't judge me) and all-around a well-balanced sound. No, they are not $300 headphones, but I have literally no complaints about the sound. It isn't lacking in anything enough for me, an average Joe, to notice. 3. Connectivity: Great. I only use them with one phone (Galaxy S8) and have minimal issues with the connection. They are connected as soon as I turn them on (granted, that takes about 3 seconds), and they rarely go in and out and didn't at all for the first 8 months of ownership. Even since then, I hardly notice and when they go out for a moment it's about a quarter second and only happens once every maybe 1-2 hours of playtime. Very much a non-issue unless you can't stand life's most minor inconveniences. 3.5. Bluetooth range: Acceptable. If you plan to let your broadcasting device sit in one spot as you move all around the gym or run around a track, you'll run into issues. That's just not an option. I have however left it at the gym and walked across a few machines and have had no problem. I can leave my phone stationary and do 20 meter sprints max before they start to cut out. So, I hold my phone as I run. Not a big issue for me, but should be a dealbreaker for you if you plan to not have your music/podcast/media broadcasting device with you while you run outside. 4. Microphone/calling: Quite good. The phone call readout is nice ("Incoming call from 800-555-5555") and pressing the power button accepts it, and hangs it up when you're done. I will use the headphones when I'm on a phone call and am leaving my phone plugged in, read: it works around the house without any issues in adjacent rooms. I have accepted phone calls while biking before, and the wind was an issue with the mic. This is to be expected, but keep that in mind if for some reason you plan to do a lot of talking through these with a lot of audio disturbance. 5. Durability: Satisfactory. This is technically 1st on my list because if it sucked it would be an issue, but because they hold up I don't even think about it. I don't have much to say because I'm nice to my electronics, however I have accidentally done back squats without moving the cord in front of my head and squatted with a ~150lb bar on my back resting on the cord and have never noticed an issue. I have been caught in the rain (never too heavy) with these bad boys on and that never seemed to affect the performance. Mind you, it's happened maybe 4 times and was not for a long time. 6. Battery Life: Really good. Like the durability, would be higher if it was an issue but it never has been. My only complaint here is I wish you got more than about a 5 minute warning on them (maybe an hour or so would be great, but maybe they've fixed that in the last year). If I only have 5 minutes left on the battery I'm probably mid-workout and then I'm just stuck finishing the workout without music. However, the battery lasts for quite a while (I'd believe the 9 hour number they mention, although my guess would be closer to 6-7) and they're quick to charge if I know I'm going to need them for a sustained amount of time. These headphones are definitely worth the risk of dropping a full $30 on and I'd buy them again in a heartbeat if something happened to mine, even if it was a defect in the product. Over a year of quality use so far has been well worth the money I spent ($23.97 at the time). ... show more

  • Awesome!
Color: Black
I used these for awhile before reviewing because I wasn't too sure about them after the first use. I used these paired to my iPhone 6s that sits inside an elastic/cloth armband on my left arm. The sound quality is excellent, but the connection would cut in and out constantly and I thought I was gonna have to return them. My 2nd walk/jog I had the phone in my back pocket, and the connection was perfect. I chalked the first use up to bad luck. My 3rd time the phone was back in the armband again, and cutting out constantly. I decided the problem must be the armband itself blocking the signal. I did a bit of googling to see if there's something in elastic that would block bluetooth and ended up finding other posts for other headphone sets with the same problem. Turns out the elastic isn't the issue, the location is. The antenna on the earbuds is in the right ear, and I wore the armband on my left arm. So cue the 4th try... with the armband on the right arm. Perfect reception! I'm not sure why the arm made a difference, because these definitely work at much further distances. I can startup the music and set the phone down in the living room or kitchen, and travel around the entire 1st floor of the house and even out the back door with the dog, and still have good quality reception. It's just the armband location that seems to matter. These are the 3rd pair of earbuds/headphones I've bought and tried to use. The first 2 wouldn't stay in my ears at all and were returned. They both had different size ear pieces. One had an over-ear hook like these, and one had in-ear hooks, but no joy on either. I heard good things about how well these stayed put, so I gave them a try. They're fantastic. I can walk, jog, shake my head, dance around the house cleaning, whatever... they stay exactly where I put them. For those having trouble with them, I put them in kinda sideways and then twist upward until I feel that suction lock in my ear. Once I get that, I just loop the very soft and flexible hook over the outside of my ear and I'm good to go for hours. I also paired them with a bluetooth transmitter hooked to my TV, so I can watch TV in bed without disturbing anyone with the TV's speakers late at night. I have a pair of bluetooth tabletop speakers beside the bed for that same purpose, but for some reason Netflix specifically won't work with them. It does work with these earbuds. The charge holds for quite some time. I've only charged mine once (the first time when I got them) for 1 1/2 hours as the package said to. They just finally died yesterday. They lasted me quite a few hours worth of jogging/walking/cleaning/Netflix binging. If you are an iPhone user, you can see the charge left on the battery in your pull-down notification window. There's a button to edit the widgets shown if it's not on there, click it and select Battery widget. Anytime the bluetooth connection is active, the battery life on the Magicbuds will show up :) ... show more

  • Great alternative to the expensive brands!
Color: Black
For the past 2 years I have owned the Beats earbuds (not wireless) and was very satisfied with the quality with the exception of the fact that the buds always fell out when I was running. About a month ago, my Beats broke and after inquiring with their customer service, they told me I would have to pay $60 to get a pair of $100 headphones fixed, which I felt was absolutely ridiculous. After getting an Amazon gift card for Christmas, I decided not to spend the $200 on a pair of the wireless Beats and instead opted for the Hussar wireless earbuds instead. I am extremely happy with my decision! Not only did I save $160, but the Hussar headphones have good sound quality and I am very pleased with how long the battery lasts. I charged my headphones the first day I received them, and it's been a week using them almost everyday and there's still 60% battery life left on them. In addition, the headphones look great on the ear and are very light compared to some other wireless headphones I have tried in the past which is especially useful when I am doing strength training that involves a lot of up and down movements. My only criticism (hence, 4 stars instead of 5) for the product is when it comes to sound quality with songs that have a heavy bass beat in the background. While the quality is by no means bad, the song gets a little bit muffled and begins to sound a little choppy. However, in the large scheme of things the pros of the headphones greatly outweigh this one negative. Overall, this product is great for the price and I don't find the sound quality to much different than that of the Beats earbuds I used to own. I recommend the headphones to anyone who is very active and cannot bring themselves to spend hundreds of dollars on the more expensive options. ... show more
