I had to buy an adapter because my vehicle had a double DIN stereo that had a useless auxiliary Jack and a CD player I never used. It wasn't bluetooth compatible and for a gal who only listens to Spotify playlists that just wasn't acceptable anymore. FM bluetooth transmitters often had static and when I listen to my music I want to hear my music. This stereo is awesome! It connects easily and works really really well. The led lights are bright and pretty and make it easy to read in the dark. The sound quality is better than it was on my factory stereo. Both mine and my son's phones connected easily and he called me from it and the call was clear as bottled glacier water. It gets LOUD just on my factory speakers because it has a loud mode which is perfect for a hard rock/metalhead like myself. The remote works as it should and is a nice addition.     • Great little car stereo
Bought this to replace an SWM-520 that was a complete and utter disappointment. That thing would constantly and randomly lose it's settings for no apparent reason. Really stinks when listening to "speaking-only" type audio like audio books or teaching lessons as you lose your place in the file, plus you have to find that file again too. I still wanted a car stereo with SD card support so got this one. Thankfully it used the same wiring harness as the piece of junk did so all I had to do was swap radios. Been using this one for about 2 months now and it works great. No loss of settings is huge for me! It also shows me that my wiring harness was fine, it was totally that junk radio. The only two downsides for this one to me (compared to the junk) is that the built-in EQ sounds are not as good, especially the classical one that I was using for my "speaking only" recordings I was listening to. On the junk radio that setting sounded really good, one this one not so much. I can't find any other EQ settings that work for those either. The other issue is the SD card sticks out a little too much for my comfort, I wish it would go in farther. Update: I found some Micro SD TF to SD Card Mini adapters that are about 1/4" shorter than a regular SD card, these fit great in the slot and it's probably what they were designed for. The one I bought was black so the color matches up with the stereo (the old SD card was blue). I had some old micro SD cards I wasn't using anymore either so it worked out perfect. One thing I like on this one is the buttons are easier to see since they are all backlit. You can adjust the color to something you like too. Radio reception with this one is about the same as the other one, just so-so. A strong radio station nearby breaks up quite a bit with this radio, whereas the Pioneer in my truck has no problem with it at all. Phone paired up easily and people say they can hear me fine on calls even in this old rattling car. You can play audio from your phone over this stereo too. Touch screen works great. Does feel a little cheap. Easy enough installment after deciphering the instructions. Bluetooth works great. CarPlay isn’t perfect but works well enough. Bluetooth volume level at 10 is just as loud as CarPlay volume at 20. Does have an equalizer but doesn’t seem to have the greatest sound quality. Perfect little budget head unit though. Only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the volume difference for Bluetooth and CarPlay and the fact that on 6+ hour car rides the screen will freeze. ... show more

    • Mine Was Defective!!!! >:(
This was the best rated stereo for under $30 on Amazon. Literally one other bad review. It arrived. Looked perfect. It stopped working for no reason. IN LESS THAN 48 HOURS And we have looked it over to find no cause. We installed. Nothing new to us. Never had issues with other radios or cars It worked great. Set up BT and stations and changed color to white to keep from rainbow. Then we got home from errands and a white backlight stayed on after the car was off. We made sure to turn it off before the car like the manual stated. The light wouldnt go away. We tried resetting it over and over and eventually started pressing random buttons to try to get it turned off. Nothing worked. Then suddenly it turned off when the key came out the ignition. Like WTF Went to work next day, came home. It worked great Went up the street and on the way home it turned off for no reason, i didnt even turn the car off. All blacked out. Wont turn on, no blown fuses inside it or my car. No bad wiring. I'm PISSED. I threw the box and stuff away now I'll have to spend twice the amount for a different radio ... show more

    • Problems, but for the price I like it.
The media could not be loaded. First the problems: As other reviews indicated I also experienced the unit turning off randomly during operation. It worked fine for about 10 days, then the shut downs started. Re-starting the unit was hit or miss. Based on the other reviews I read I suspected a loose connector. I took the radio out and found that the "memory" wire connection (yellow wire on my unit) was lose in the provided wiring block. See video. To solve this I cut a small strand of copper wire from my stock and pushed it in between the metal connector and the plastic housing and re-assembled everything. That was about two weeks ago, and it has not randomly turned off since. I have also had one event where the unit did not want to turn off. I wanted to terminate the BT connection to my phone while driving, and rather than fiddle with my phone I just tried to power down the radio. It would not power down. Sound quality is fine for a $26 radio. Blue Tooth connects within a few seconds every time. The USB port for music works. The graphics on the screen are made to look like an EQ display that would normally rise and fall with the beat of the music. This is just a random light show, but that does not concern me. Summary: After solving the random shut-down I decided to buy a second unit for another one of my cars. ... show more
