We had a situation where our group was in absolute danger, the one non swimmer had no ptd and was tossed overboard I had the only pfd (this one) and since it was rapid water we were caught in, my emergency pfd launched its Co2 cartridge and kept my head above water no Problem. I was able to look at the situation briefly and could tell it was bad. I was able to roll into position to catch our non swimmer if needed. It was a terrifying 30 plus minutes experience in extremely cold water. The ordeal eventually lead to the cops coming; we had already been rescued by a strong kayaker that could power through the rapids and free us from a tree. There were at least 10 other people who could not make it through the rapids to save us. I knew I would survive because I had my life jacket and knew I could release from the situation an sacrifice my friends at any moment. Every decision was horrible and cold, THIS PFD saves lives. seriously a CO2 cartage saved mine and at least one friends life today. Never going on the water without it. We had literally half the group go overboard within hard rapids and snagged on trees. All group members are coming home safely traumatized. This was supposed to be the lazy River with wild horse views ... show more

Really should have went this way years ago. I know they or more expensive but it does not get in the way of fishing or boat riding. Might entice boaters to wear them the whole time they’re in the boat. Could certainly increase your survival rate.

The vest shipped immediately and came in perfect condition. I bought this for a kayak and the conversion to manual was quite easy. Unfortunately being a small women the co2 container is right on my boob and the vest won’t bend to the body which is quite uncomfortable, but it will work for what I need it for. ... show more
