Use in watering can for precision nutrition. For coco or peat usually aim for a pH of 5.8-6.3, add to waterings as needed to adjust pH to the desired level. Consistent and easy to use ph adjuster

I've been using this pH Down for about a month on my indoor plants, and I use it every time I fill my watering can. Since I use fertilizer in my water, getting the pH right is important to me, and this has worked very well. I've tested it several times with a pH meter, and I've consistently found that about 2 teaspoons brings 2 gallons of water to the pH I need. I really like how predictable it is. I don't have to guess how much to use each time. The bottle is also easy to use. The spout makes it convenient to measure out teaspoons without making a mess. It doesn't have an unpleasant smell, and I haven't had any issues with leaking. Before buying this, I tried using vinegar and lemon juice to adjust my water, but I found those methods weren't nearly as consistent. This is much easier and more predictable for my plant-watering routine. I've been very happy with this pH Down and think it's a good value for the money. I'll definitely buy it again. ... show more

Works well to lower PH of soil. Plants are growing and producing better.

I grow almost all of our veggies and herbs indoors, and hadn't paid much attention to PH of the soil in the past. Most recently, I noticed the leaves of my tomato plants had spots on them, and used an app I have on my phone to diagnose the problem. According to the app, my tomato plants were lacking nutrients. Since I consistently supply nutrients to all of my plants and also supply beneficial bacteria, I didn't understand how they could be lacking nutrients. I learned that tomato plants require a PH of 6.2- 6.8 in order for beneficial bacteria and fungus to break down nutrients into a usable form for the tomatoes. When I tested my soil, I found that the PH was 7.2. With further research, I found that most of the veggie plants I am growing grow and produce better with an acidic soil PH of 6.8 or lower. Although I have used sphagnum peat moss to lower PH for some plants, moss eventually breaks down in the soil and is no longer effective. In addition, the water used for watering plants can have an effect on the PH of the soil. This product lowers the PH of the soil by using only 1cc per gallon of water. It doesn't need to be used with every watering, and it's a good idea to check the soil PH now and then so it stays at the desired level. This gallon bottle will likely last the rest of my life, but the cost per ounce was almost half the cost for a quart bottle. If your plants are showing signs of nutrient deficiencies, a soil PH that is too alkaline may be the problem. This product is a quick fix to lower soil PH, but be aware that it may not be a permanent fix depending on the PH of the water you are using to water. You will likely need to use this product periodically to maintain the optimum PH for your plants. I hope this review was helpful for you. ... show more

Screw Monsanto, Go With Bloom City

Definitely need more than GHs PH Down but it's a very clean formula that mixes in to my reservoir and rdwc system nice and clear. I like this stuff even though i have to use more than with the General Hydroponics, but i don't care. I will gladly fork over money to a non-Monsanto owned company like Bloom City. ... show more

I received the product intact no leaking and sealed. This was my 1 buy for this bigger size, I bought another one that was smaller and worked really well so I went ahead and bought this bigger size. The PH down really easy to use with hydroponic growing, it gives simple instructions on how to use and lasts a while depending on how big your setup is. Undecided on how well it worked

We have heavy clay in our soil and our water has a ph of 9.1. Makes it difficult to grow acid loving plants in our yard. I used it to try and lower the ph in the soil around our rhododendrons along with sulfur amendments, they are still growing and one bottle lowered the ph of the water being applied to 5 for 2 gallons. It takes a lot to get a low ph given my limitations. If I focused on potted plants, it might be more effective. ... show more
