It also comes with written instructions that are clear and easy to understand. This includes a nice "Quick Start Guide" and a more detailed and comprehensive 28 page booklet. The online description also has some of the same information for a quick go to, if needed. The monitor has a setup that includes, setting the date and time that is straight forward and easy to do. This is prompted when the 2 batteries are inserted. I like that the lancet holder has built in depth levels to choose from and set. The monitor displays results quickly, accurately and is easy to read. This is a nice blood glucose level monitoring kit with everything needed to test, is simple to use, good value and appears to be well made and sturdy.

Pros: • Cost-effective: At $19.99, this is a great alternative to continuous glucose monitors (CGMs), which can cost between $250-$1,200 without insurance, or $150-$300/month for subscriptions. • Accurate: Provides precise readings in mg/dl. • Complete Kit: Comes with everything you need, including the reader, test strips, a lancer, lancets, a robust and well-organized carrying case, two AA batteries, a testing solution, and instruction handbook. • Quick Results: Delivers results instantly, though if not done correctly, it will initiate a 5-second countdown. • Storage Capacity: Can store up to 350 readings for future reference. Cons: • Manual Could Be Improved: The font size in the manual is quite small, making it difficult to read. Some sections could also benefit from clearer instructions. For instance, it’s not immediately apparent that turning on the monitor requires holding the button down for several seconds. Additionally, if you turn on the reader and don’t set the date, time, and other initial settings, you will have to remove the batteries to start over, as there’s no way to reset once the reader begins its reading process. • Testing Solution Instructions: The instructions for using the testing solution were unclear. Initially, I applied the solution incorrectly to the top of the strip, which resulted in a low ("LO") reading. However, when I performed a blood test by dipping the EDGE of the stick into a blood drop and compared the results to my own monitor, the readings were only off by 1 point, indicating that the monitor itself is accurate. • Stick Count: One of the bottles contained 48 sticks instead of the 50 advertised. • Proprietary Test Strips: The test strips are proprietary, and unfortunately, replacements are not available for separate purchase. Once you use the 100 strips included in the kit, there are no options to buy more, which limits long-term use. • Lancet Depth Confusion: The guide for setting the lancet depth could be clearer. The dial is numbered 1-12, but the manual only references a range from 1-5. The higher the number, the deeper the prick, which can be confusing without proper guidance. I used 8 for a medium prick. Other Observations: • It’s odd that the device requires the test strip product number (“221”) to be specified each time. • For my personal preference, the unit is on the larger side compared to other glucose monitors. Despite the issues with the manual and the lack of options for purchasing additional test strips, this monitor and kit still offer excellent value. With improvements in instructions and the option to buy more strips, it would provide a more seamless and better long-term experience.

This is a really complete glucose testing kit that's wonderful to have on hand ... I ordered this one as a replacement for a monitor that I've been using for several years ... nice that the batteries are included and that it comes with a convenient carry case .... the instructions are quite comprehensive, although I wish that the photos were larger and clearer and that there was a section that explained what the different level numbers mean - I had to do that online just to refresh my understanding ... the lancet device took me a bit too long to figure out , but the monitor itself sets up quite easily ... and my first readings seem to be accurate ... all in all I'm very pleased to have this Medhome kit ... it will certainly help to ensure that my levels are monitored more often ... and I'd surely recommend this product to others ...

This Medhome Blood Glucose Monitor Kit is accurate within 2 points compared with my current one. The set up was confusing, and I had to remove the batteries (included) to get the date/time set. The lancet took me a minute; it was unclear to me how to get it 'primed' at first. The adjustable depth was nice; at 5 I barely felt it but got a good poke. The instructions are small and hard to read. The full instruction manual does not fit in the zippered case. Overall, nice kit for backup use so I can keep one at work.

Everything came safety sealed and included a handy storage pouch. Really like lancet device having multiple depth settings. Easy to use, but at this moment I do not see where Medhome is selling extra supplies for this unit.

The package arrived in an Amazon bag, which is not enough protection... when I opened the package, the box was semi-crushed. Fortunately, the meter still works. Meter works fine and within usable range compared to my other meter. Lancet is generic but works very well, fast prick and good size drop. I did not give it 5 stars because at the time that I got this meter, replacement test strips are not available, not even from the manufacturer. Hopefully it will be available soon.

This set comes with everything you need for monitoring your blood glucose level. It has the needs and the piercing pen. The blood test strips and the screen to check. It also came with 2 batteries for it. All neatly organized in a small handy case. Highly recommended!
