I specifically bought this rain coat because the hood was detachable, (hate hoods) and it has a silky liner so your shirt doesn't drag through when you slip it on, and because it's light enough, but has some weight to it. I walk dogs every morning for 2.5 hours and I need coverage but not a down or fleece coat which gets too hot. I wasn't sure what size to order as with broad shoulders and a large breast, I generally take a L or XL depending on the cut of the coat. Since people said this ran small, I opted for the XXL and it fits me big enough to wear a hoodie and thick turtleneck underneath during the colder mornings. I could have gotten away with an XL if I just wanted to wear this with a summer top. I like the XXL because I can cinch it in a few inches at the waist and I have lots of shoulder room to throw snow balls or Frisbees, etc. I always keep my coat zipped up and it fits well with plenty of room. With the XXL, the chest is 52 inches and the coat is straight so the waist and hem is also 52 inches. I have more than plenty of room for hips and bending over to pick up toys, etc. The zipper is plastic and glides easily even though it does not have a reverse zipper.. The pockets are easy to fill with dog treats and easy to put my hand in and pull them out in a hurry. The length is perfect to keep the wind out and covers the buttocks fully. The sleeves are a bit long but can be rolled up at the cuff. I wear a sling pack across my chest when I walk and this easily slips over the coat. Happy with the extra chest room. To get the wrinkles out from being packaged, just throw the coat in the dryer with some dryer balls and a wet kitchen towel for five minutes. Happy with the Royal Blue color...something brighter than the everyday grey, black or dark. Have not needed to wash this but I will put it on the gentle soak cycle overnight and hang dry during a sunny day outdoors. Lastly, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a rain coat. It is priced right and I will be happy with it for as long as it holds up. It is sewn well and is sturdy enough for my needs and should last a good long time without breaking the bank. ... show more

Great for the price, waterproof, light weight, and comfortable. Good for travel, however doesn't fold up and small as others. Has a good length, and the adjustable weight makes it flatting on the body. The double installation inner piece provides some extra warmth when needed and the removable hoodie is also convenient. The size is smaller than I expected. 2x is the size I normally buy. If it came in a 3x I'd consider returning it and getting a larger size. The jacket looks good and is better quality than I expected. I can wear it but I wish it were a little larger for going over heavier clothes. I guess I'll keep it. I love the color. Next day: I wore my jacket today and it is a raincoat! It kept me dry and then dried quickly. Overall I'm pretty happy with it except for the slightly skimpy sizing. Update 12-5-23 It's pouring rain and I had to run errands. My coat kept me dry when I was outside for several stops. Even the cuffs dry quickly and they stop drafts up the sleeves. I am leaving the **** rating since it's a bit skimpy on sizing but it does do it's thing in truly inclement weather. I love the purple so much, it's my favorite color and brightens my mood when it's rainy. I love this jacket! It looks so cute on. The cuffs are not waterproof but I don’t mind that. Worked great for camping this weekend and that’s exactly what I bought it for. Lightweight and easy to adjust to a flattering fit. Bought it in the red color and it looks great with the lining print.

purchased when the price was reduced for black friday and very glad that i did. i have had many compliments on the fit and look of the jacket even though i spent very little. i have found the material to be more wind-resistant than i would have expected which is very welcome in the pacific northwest. i have not been in any significant rain so that's why i gave it only 4 stars. we'll see how it does, but i have hope. what i like best: 1. the tailored look 2. the option to snap or zip the closure 3. the olive green color that i chose which just works 4. the square pockets with snaps that hold a cell phone or thin wallet 5. the cuffs that snug around the wrist area 6. the detachable hood. without the hood, the collar stands straight up around the neck, like a tall Mandarin collar, which i like. 7. the striped lining which is not fabric, but a polyester or something. i was worried it was textile which would have been harder to keep clean. 8. the option to cinch the waist or not what i don't like: 1. the hood is pretty large, so i have removed it. i will re-attach for rainy days. would have been nice to be able to roll it around the collar to store when not in use but a minor detail. ... show more

I love my new rain coat. Until the temps got seriously low, I was wearing It quite a bit out and about. It’s a great coat to keep the wind off and help from the rain. The hood is especially large so it covers your head very well, without being bulky. The lining is so cute with the contrasting. Also like that it has closed cuffs on the arm sleeves, so air doesn’t go up my arms. I get a lot of compliments. Would definitely buy another. ... show more
