First thing first, this is my very first "high end" blender. I've only ever had walmart blenders before. I have zero experience using a high end blender and have nothing to compare it to except cheap blenders. This blender is incredible! The biggest reason I got this blender was because I make homemade laundry soap that I've taken to calling "Blender Slayer Soap" because it burns up the motor on cheap blenders every 6 months or so. I also have a smoothie for breakfast most mornings and it's always a struggle to get them smooth and chunk free. So how does it work on soap? I ordered this blender when mine died in the middle of a batch of soap. It arrived very quick and I was amazed how easily it handled my soap. I just dumped it in and my soap was whipped in seconds, incredible! The only downside is I can't put the blade on a mason jar but it's a small price to pay for a blender that won't be burned up by my soap. What about smoothies? It also makes the most amazing smoothies! I put in frozen fruit, oats, chia seeds and whatever else I'm adding and use the smoothie button. Once i figured out the ratio of solids to liquids, I no longer have to touch it. Just push the button and have a perfect smoothie. Uses I've used this thing on so much just to see how it does. It grinds coffee better than my coffee grinder. It makes the most amazing restaurant style salsa and if you do small batches and pulse carefully, it also makes good chunky salsa but the food processor was easier. Sauces and gravies are a breeze. I hope to try soups and hummus soon. Cleaning and Ease of Use It's very easy to clean, just add soap and water, run the clean cycle, then rinse, so easy. I did put it in the dishwasher after putting jalapenos in it just so I wouldn't accidentally have a nasty spicy smoothie. It's fairly easy to use but because it's so basic but powerful it can be a lot of trial and error in the beginning to figure out which settings are the best to use for each thing you make. Other than that it's quite simple. Final Thoughts I would highly recommend this blender! It has totally changed how I think about blenders. I always thought of them as a necessary evil because the do a job you need done but with so much work and frustration. Now I love using the blender because it's so easy. ... show more

I want so, so much to love this, but it just doesn't work well on frozen chunks of fruit. It constantly gets stuck. I have to stop it, take off the lid and move the frozen fruit around & start again. My family loves smoothies and I catch grief all the time because I'm the one who chose this one. I don't know if I got a dud or something, but I'm really disappointed. ... show more

After close to a year of nearly daily use (>500 cycles on the counter), the Jar developed an intermittent leak through the bottom seal. I submitted a Warranty Claim through Blendtec's user-friendly website and received a replacement Jar within about 10 business days. I would like to emphasize that this transpired HASSLE-FREE. This is how all companies should stand behind their warranties! In my opinion, this is a well-engineered, robustly constructed product. Blender Jar bottom seals are inherently a weak point - regardless of manufacturer. To their credit, Blendtec at least provides a long warranty period on their jars and blenders. ... show more

I love this blender! My friend has a vitamix and I loved how it made smoothies so I was going back and forth on if I should buy a Vitamix or Blendtec. I ended up buying the Blendtec because of a great deal I got on it. I am not disappointed! I think if you are stuck between getting a Vitamix and a blendtec, just get whatever is the best deal. I will say the one thing I like about the blendtec over the Vitamix is that there is no sharp blade on the blendtec which when you do have to clean it by hand over in a while, you have the piece of mind that you won't cut yourself cleaning around the blade. ... show more

I used to manage a Smoothie King. After that, I worked in another juice bar/smoothie business. Those were high school/college jobs, but I still got a ton of experience with smoothie making and use of top tier, commercial blenders. I though Vitamix was the end all be all of blenders. Screw Ninja with all the blades, a Vitamix can pulverize and powderize anything you throw at it with the two small blades at the bottom. Flash forward to my first apartment after college - I had my eyes on a Vitamix but spending $3-400 just to make smoothies made absolutely zero sense financially. I was complaining about the Vitamix price tag to a friend of mine amidst a night of heavy drinking, and he asked me why I didn't just get a Ninja. I told him I thought Ninja's were dumb and gimmicky, and that nothing compares to a Vitamix. He then asked if I'd ever heard of a youtube channel called "Will It Blend?". I told him I hadn't, he quickly pulled it up, and after watching this blender turn an iPad into powder, I knew I'd found what I was looking for. Vitamix power at half the price. You cannot go wrong with this thing. It's absurdly easy to use, absurdly easy to clean, attractive to look at, and seriously just as good as any of the commercial Vitamix's I used at Smoothie King. This is a terrible product. I was so excited to buy and use it. Product arrived promptly and I opened it. I tried to use the product for the first time and it didn't turn on and gave me an error that said "overload". I troubleshooted the product by following the directions given and it still doesn't work. I will be returning this expensive product that never worked. Very disappointed! ... show more
