This could have been a cool pedal. It sounded great out of the box. The problem was that I could not get the software. Every time I went to the web page to download it, for some reason it wouldn’t let me. Their customer service online was pretty lame. I actually loved the sound of this amp! I was very excited until about 8 minutes in.....IT DIED!!! Literally. No more power, tried different plugs, outlets, cord, switch and all but it did not last 15 minutes! Not the dependability I would be leaning on for a gig. Unless I just happened to get a lemon, Blackstar has to get it together and redesign this thing. I returned it for a refund. ... show more

I did not buy this on Amazon, I actually bought used from guitar center. I also own the Blackstar Amped 3 (high gain version) and was super impressed with that amp. This amp is no exception, and in fact has become my main amp for live performances. In some ways I prefer this over the Amped 3 model because of the additional capabilities it has. While the amped 2 cannot store presets on the device like the amped 3 does, it makes up for in other areas by including the effects (which are fantastic). Once you understand that the amped 2 was really intended to be a super flexible all in one solution, it becomes clearer the user it was intended for. I use my amped 2 in combination with an HX effects in 4CM. I use all the effects on the amped 2 in addition to the HX effects, so I can have a lot going on in a compact live rig. I have set a very warm solid USA voiced clean with 6L6 response (think fender clean) as my base tone and use drive pedals from the HX effects. If you don't think of this as a multi channel amp, rather a single channel amp with a ton of features, it makes more sense on how useful it can be. I was originally frustrated that it didn't have presets, now I've come to appreciate that as an intended design feature. The sound is nothing short of amazing. The feel is fantastic, and the portability is unmatched. I play live with it on 100 watts with a live drummer playing hard on acoustic drums and usually never go past 3 on the master volume. Blackstar over designed their gear, so I have no doubt this will last a long time. ... show more

Shipment arrived on time. The amplifier was packed neatly in three separate boxes, however they all three look like they were dropped off the second floor of a building. Hence the term and title of my review, “Accordianed!” Suppressing enough the product itself was well packed by the manufacturer and the product worked, but not at peak performance. The reverb did not work at all, and the amp did not sound anything close to the reviews. I do wonder if it is due to the rough handling of the packaging? Ya think?? Originally, the seller was supposed to be from the. Chicago Music Exchange Music Store. When the item was returned, it returned to some 3rd party reseller?? WTF, Amazon? Frank ... show more

I love this amp! Initially thought it would make for a great back up to my 50 watt head that I can bring to a gig in my bag, but this has now become my main amplifier and I am no longer lugging that heavy head to gigs! In addition to all the cool features, ins/outs, software, etc, what really blew me away is the tone. I needed it to be serviceable but Blackstar is really ahead of the game here in the "portable pedal amp" category as this actually sounds even better than my previous main amp....
