The box tells the story...it easily deforms. I kid, it actually is a cool vehicle and my son has a red one. We were looking for a cool gift for his buddy whose birthday is coming up. This kid LOVES everything law enforcement, so we figured if they both had some cool transforming race cars they could chase each other around both as cars and robots. Why does it have to focus on "deforming"? I just can't get that out of my head. Anyway - definitely not one to leave anything to chance, I decided to test it out to make sure it works much like my son's. And it does. Same button configuration - same twirly moves. But there are some differences. One, my boy's is a transformer not a deformer. Sorry...like I said, having a hard time giving that up. The biggest difference is the battery. Ours runs on double AA's (for the car and remote). He's left it on overnight, and believe it or not, it still runs with those batteries. This one comes with its own rechargables, and while that is a boon, I'm not keen on the battery type. These have been known to "overcharge", run hot, and then you hope they don't - OVERHEAT. And so you do want to keep an eye on that. I had to mark it down a star (as well as battery life) for that reason. I just don't trust those batteries. The remote is much like my son's, but that's good and bad. There aren't a lot of "controls" which is good for a 6 year old (and soon to be 6 year old) - but then do they really feel like they're controlling it? I mean, they don't need all the little tweaks that come with the "older kid's" (who am I kidding, the adult) versions - but it would be nice to have something other than fwd - backward / turn hard / spin / transform / deform. Also, the remote is very flimsy plastic. But the car, if its anything like my son's which has been through some stuff, even though it might feel flimsy, it actually takes a pretty good battering and keeps on coming back for more. After a few drops and jumps, it might not all the way deform, but it'll look pretty close to perfect. And it still runs like a champ. Since the makes are very similar in that respect, I surmise my son's friend will get a long life out of it. As long as those batteries don't fully DEFORM the toy. ... show more

Expected it to be little bigger but it’s very small in size. Even though not disappointed because of its functionality. It’s actually a car and also a robot. Can be used in both the modes. Police led lights and the design of the car makes it look cool. Charging lasts longer than most of the RC cars. Almost 2 hours for a RC car is great. Rotates 360 degree and my son loves police cars so he enjoys playing with this. ... show more

Car was neat and we like the look and use. It seems a bit on the fragile side it has cool graphics and is being well-loved right now, so I guess it is worth it while it lasts. It is really cool that it changes and "transforms". Love the color.

Considering the age of person i would buy this for, i wouldn’t purchase this unless it’s for a young child. After rolling it around and playing with it myself, i wouldn’t purchase it for anyone if not age 4-10. The construction of the vehicle is very wobbly and doesn’t completely stay together. Being made of mainly plastic, it wouldn’t cause damage to walls and furniture if operating inside. The best thing about its wobbly construction though, is if operated by small children, it possibly wouldn’t break but instead act as a spring. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This car is pretty cleverly designed in that it quickly changes from a car to a robot and even though the wheels are on the end of the robots arms, it can still turn corners when you are driving the robot around. It accomplishes this because the front wheels are not actually used as wheels. There is a small caster at the base of the robots feet and the back wheels turn at different speeds in order to make turns. The kids love the features of this car/robot and they have a blast playing with it. I however have a few concerns. It is not very sturdy and if that front caster breaks off, it will no longer work. So far nothing has broken on it but I have my doubts. Another concern I have is that the remote does not have an on off switch. I am mystified by this, but maybe it has an auto off feature? It would be a lot of trouble to take out the non rechargeable batteries from the remote so that they wouldn't run down. I have not had to replace them yet but I would have felt better if they had just included an on off switch for the remote. The batteries for the car ARE rechargeable and two are included. It runs pretty good if you are on the right surface such as concrete. If there are any cracks or irregularities in the surface, this car has a hard time. With all that being said, the kids do love it and are having a good time playing with it. To help understand how I rate items: My philosophy is, that for a rating system to be effective, the highest rating and the lowest rating should be reserved for a relatively small percentage of the best and the worst products. If I give a product four stars, it is because I believe it is a very good product. To get five stars from me requires a product to go above and beyond and really impress me beyond my expectations. By the same token, a product has to be VERY, VERY bad to get only one star from me. One thing that I DON'T take into consideration with my ratings is price. I may make a general statement such as “this is a good value” but it will not affect my star rating. The reason is that product prices change, even from day-to-day. Also what one person may consider a good price someone else might not. I feel it is more important to review the quality and features of a product and let the buyer decide whether the current price is worth it to them. Another thing that I don't take into consideration are issues with shipping. This is because the seller does not always have control over that.
