These scopes are without a doubt the best bang for your buck. I couldn't believe they were on sale for $221! I paid $350ish for one 2 years ago, and it's totally worth every penny of that, but $125 off, that's an unbeatable deal. First heard of these on a youtube video, Cyclops Joe reviewed it and he loved it. Accurate, holds it's zero, never fogs up (like my damn Nikon did today...at the worst possible time...), tracking is true. It only has 2 downsides, it ain't light, and some people say the reticle is a little thick. I find it so much easier to use BECAUSE of the thicker reticle, than my new Bushnell Engage rifle scope that was more money AND doesn't have FFP. My other Blackhound is 6-24x50, I wanted a little less weight, shorter, and I usually use 14x or less anyway so this was a no brainer. Pros are so many; Tough, accurate, FFP, clear glass (I hear the Athlon Argos is slightly better glass, but I'm not a fan of the Christmas tree reticle) No BS warranty, and the first one made my acceptable gun phenomenal, yeah, that could be your deal too. I bought this because i have been seeing a lot of hype around the scope, and watched some interviews with Blackhounds CEO and i liked his vibe. This is a good scope, but i think there can be some improvements. When i got this in, i compared to my Athlon Argos scope which is the same price range as this. The glass and reticle are better on the Argos, but i think Blackhound takes everything else. The build quality and the extras you get with the scope are pretty great. The glass is still pretty good for a sub $300 scope, but I am not a fan of the reticle. Thats all personal preference though. Wish the objective was a little bigger to let more light in, maybe that would help with glass clarity. Overall, i would probably go with the Athlon over this scope for the reticle and slightly better glass, but this is still a solid scope for the money. ... show more

I love this as much as any of my 4 blackhound scopes. This scope is probably the most clear. Excleent and forgiving eye box and relief. My others are 6-24 . Thankyou Blackhound for another excllent scope.

Blackhound has made an incredible product for the price point they are selling it from. On my bolt-action, I needed a cheek riser (but I am over 6 foot and have long limbs). Where it rests currently, however, is another matter: on my AR, I have to shove my face hard into the stock to look through the glassware. If you are planning to put this on a weapon with an in-line stock, the included rings (which are quality) might not be tall enough for you. Considering the wide difference in people's size, I believe they did the best to split the difference, so my need to get a new mounting system is not indicative of a true issue. If this is your first step into precision shooting, go with their Milliradian version; I'm told mils are more accurate, I'm just stuck in MOA. ... show more

First I have Weaver style picatinny bases on my Winchester 270 wsm! The rings provided would not fit those bases! The gunsmith at the 100 yard indoor shooting range had some nice 30mm rings way better than those provided by black hound! He mounted them and torqued everything down then bore sighted it! Took it to the range down the hall! First shot at 25 yards was 1” low! Great I thought! Sent it on out to 100 yards shot a box of Winchester deer season 130 grain ammo and no 2 came within 6” of each other on target! Cooled down the barrel after every three shots and all as I should! Range chief could not believe the terrible performance of this scope! I am 68 and have been shooting rifles since 13 years old! I have on my and my sons rifles all sorts off scopes! Burris-Bushnell-Weaver-Redfield and Meuller scopes! I took a meuller 4x16x50,off that 270 wsm that would shoot just a bit over MOA groups! All of those scopes mentioned I am capable of shooting MOA or sub MOA groups! With 444 marlin-270 win-260rem-22LR-7mm-08-30/30 marlin lever action and 7mm rem mag and even a 50 cal MUzzle loader Remington that has a Bushnell scope that I can shoot 2” groups at 100 yards with! So I am no novice! I Absolutely do not recommend this scope! Buyer beware! ... show more
