As an overweight, completely non-flexible person at the beginning of a major lifestyle overhaul, this product couldn't possibly be any better for me. It's simple, but by no means lacking in helping you do exactly what it is designed to do....help you stretch. The instructions are simple, yet clear and precise. I was able to do all 12 stretches on the first try, although at beginner levels. The strap is made of very good material and is thoughtfully designed. I love the price, anyone can afford one of these and you can use it for years. As you get better and better, the used of the strap can grow with you. I also feel good about buying from a family owned business. I feel like it's helping them support their family while I change my lifestyle to enjoy my family more by finally getting healthy.

The PAIN. Oh sweet lord, the PAIN.

This strap is the source of so much pain. Excruciating, muscle-loosening pain. Combine it with a foam roller and great things can be achieved. You pay for your workout sins in pain - either constant, grinding pain from your knotted muscles, or short-term intense pain from using products like this strap to get un-knotted. The strap is well-constructed. It's not fancy. It doesn't need to be. It has a single purpose, and it does it well. All of the seams are stoutly stitched and the fabric is your standard lasts-though-the-nuclear-winter webbing material. The attached guide is fine if you're not familiar with assisted stretching. It doesn't go super in-depth, but you don't want to learn advanced techniques from a book - that's the kind of thing that should be taught by a professional.

4/5 ⭐️ — The Black Mountain Products Stretch Strap is that OG flexibility buddy from the mid‑2010s that everyone swore by. And honestly? It still works. Durable, easy to use, good tension, and the instructional guide is basically a “don’t hurt yourself” cheat sheet. But compared to what’s out now? Yeah… modern stretch bands have evolved like they’re trying to win a CrossFit championship. Better materials, smoother elasticity, more loops, more comfort, more everything. This one feels a little old‑school — not bad, just clearly from a different era. Still, if you need a reliable strap that won’t snap or betray you mid‑stretch, it’s solid. Just not the peak of the mountain anymore. Certified 4/5 — dependable, functional, but absolutely outclassed by newer bands.

Does what it needs to do.

I ordered this for stretches for my legs and lower back. While the included pamphlet had a few stretches listed, I had my own plan, so I haven't used the guide at all. The band itself is incredibly useful for the purpose(s) I need it for and I like the loops along the length of it that I use to get a longer or shorter stretch and various parts of the body. If something as simple as a stretch strap can reach perfection, this one does.

STURDY BUT TOO SLIPPERY

This strap is constructed exactly the same as the one used by my physical therapist. So I'm pleased with it in that regard. What I'm not pleased with is the fabric that is used, which is slippery, so when I do stretching exercises with it, it slides around on my foot instead of gripping it. When I'm doing stretch exercises, I want to feel secure that the strap isn't going to slide off, and I don't with this strap.

Yes, it's a glorified strap but the loops help you keep your foot/feet in place and the brochure shows several stretches that I hadn't had in my usual routine. Overall it's worth it. Very durable. Nice to have this in my arsenal along with foam rollers, lacrosse balls and roller sticks.

Doubles as a shoulder strap for yoga mat too!

Perfect for helping me stretch and we also use it to tie up our yoga mat. Just reach through the end loop and grab higher up the strap, pull through the loop and you have a 'loop'. Do that at both ends and you can secure your yoga mat while not in use, with a handy shoulder strap!

Since I bought two colors, I'll post the same review here: This product is a high quality stretching band that is lengthy, durable, and convenient. It has several loops stitched throughout the rope and holds up well when pulling hard. It also comes with a nice little note from the seller, and most of all, a booklet that provides instructions on stretches and health safety. I find it to be considerate and thoughtful, and I'm glad I got my girlfriend and I one. It also arrived fast, but the priority is the product over the shipping speed, so I deem it a plus! Stretching helps!
