The Black & Decker shelving unit is sturdy in that it holds what I need it to hold, but it was slightly wobbly before I put anything on it. I wouldn't recommend using this for any breakable items. That and the fact that one of the shelves was very dirty right out of the box, is why I didn't give it 5 stars. I had to wipe that shelf three times with wet then dry paper towels. Why ship a customer something like that?! The positives: It is the perfect size to fit in between key items in my storage closet and has provided much needed linear space so I can organize more items efficiently. Product came in a timely manner. Wrapped securely. Very easy to assemble, but do need a mallet to get the posts in securely. I don’t have a mallet so used a hammer with a terry towel to protect the plastic. Worked fine. It is sturdy but obviously not as sturdy as more expensive and heavier units.
