I fortunately stumbled upon this closet kit when I was trying to come up with a solution for my Mother-In-Law’s closet area. The walls were unfortunately either too long or short for the Closetmaid products. I also looked at having Home Depot custom cut me some Rubbermaid shelves as well, but after including all the brackets and such that added up to $240+. This solution for $80 is very very solid. You can even buy two if you have at least 6’ x 6’ area in your closet. As far as the product itself, it’s sturdy enough, but not sturdy as a rock. But it’s more than sufficient. Putting it together is easy too, and only requires on person. One tip that I found odd in the instructions is you want to actually put the tension rod brackets on much earlier in the shelf building process than it says (like the first tension rod bracket should almost be on the first (lowest) bar). The way they have you do it you have to unscrew the top portions to put the tension brackets back on after you’ve already built your two side shelf stacks. I got the chrome metal version of this and it looks pretty good. I’d love for Amazon to offer parts if this to better allow you to customize your combos a little more to better fit individual closets, but this still deserves 5 stars for sure. I got this or organize my closet so far it's holding strong I did have to put the rails that hold the bars off to the other side az my closet wasn't big enough for the bars to fit where they should, but it still works great nothing was bent or missing. Everything fit as it should have. I hung my shirts on the top and my daughters shirts on the bottom. ... show more

Our adult family member with ADHD has a difficult time using his closet. Out of site, out of mind. His closet was also really small and dark. It is now used for storage and this unit takes up the wall beside his closet. He struggles with hanging clothes consistently so he is using bins on the shelves for the bulk of his clothes. The bottom rod holds clothes out of season or rarely worn. The top rod holds pants or shorts (depending on season) hung by the belt loop on S hooks. This was so easy to put together, and the pieces were very well labeled. The little clip-on things are super easy to work with. The room it has given me for a closet I have detested for years is absolutely amazing!!! One of the best investments I have EVER made. I couldn't be happier. This product was packed amazingly! Easily put it together myself. It is a decent weight. Not a super heavy weight, but definitely not so light you worry about it holding up. I purchased this product for my plant room. It's perfect for plants on the shelves and for hanging plants. Easy to hook lights up. Not quiet as sturdy as I expected. The shelves are adjustable so you can make them different heights, but I wanted them all the same size so it took me a while to figure it out. It definitely needs to be anchored to the wall. It moves a lot if I move the hanging items

Overall we are happy with the closet system. Seems pretty sturdy thus far and comes with some wall hardware for extra assurance. The adjustability is great as this is the 2nd attempt at purchasing an item like this (previous purchase was not adjustable and ended up not fitting in our closet) and having the flexibility allowed this to perfectly fit withing our space. Knocking off 1 star due to the following: - MISSING ITEMS. There are supposed to be 8 smaller plastic shelf toppers and 2 larger ones. We were missing one smaller and one larger plastic shelf topper in the item we received. Would have liked to have the complete set but we'll make do. - TINY INSTRUCTIONS. Instructions are provided in a half page sized booklet and don't really explain much asides from arrows/diagrams/letters. Granted it wasn't overly complicated. However, this was especially troublesome when trying to determine how many "notches" to count for shelf/rod heights and spacing. Ended up taking a picture to zoom into the instructions just to count spacing. A simple text of 15 notches between or something would have been so much easier. ... show more
