I struggled with what to buy my husband for a birthday gift as we were buying a house, and knew that power tools would be the thing! There are so many options and these didn’t have the big kit of attachments, so that was a deterrent. I bought one that did and it was super disappointing. Then I ordered this one! It has great feel (not so heavy that it’s prohibitive, but enough to give some umph behind screws sometimes) and the battery life allowed me to install all of our curtain rods and door locks on one charge with batteries life to spare. Having an interchangeable batter is also great! The circular saw cuts things, so that’s a win. Overall, I’ll take a power drill that does what it needs to and has a great battery life over a storage bag and drill bit kit. Lesson learned. ... show more

I purchased the drill/bag combo, which if memory serves cost roughly $18 more than just the drill and bit combo. In relatively limited use so far I am finding the drill to serve my needs quite well. As for opting for the bag, well I really shouldn't have, as it is huge for just a drill and accessories, even though I already have a couple more bit sets I can stick in there- all together they take up less than 1/3 of the interior. According to the tags, the bag was designed for the B&D Matrix system tool, which appears to be a base with several detachable heads for different tasks (cutting, sanding, grass trimming, etc.) Most of the pockets are bottomless, my guess is for the various extra heads, so it really doesn't 'hold' much in terms of things appropriate for this drill- i.e. bits, battery, charger, etc. There is a covered pocket outside, but I'd prefer battery and charger to stay inside, where they will unfortunately rattle around. It's almost as if someone at B&D found the Matrix series weren't selling that well, and they had a ton of extra bags lying around and decided bundling them with this tool would be a great way to get them out of inventory. Well, it is an effective way to dump the bags... except they're nearly useless for this tool. It's a shame, it seems to be a very sturdy and well-built bag, but I just don't have any use for it and could've found a much better use for my $18. Any chance I can return just the bag? ... show more
