I bought it originally to neatly cut curves in 2x6 pressure treated wood. Worked flawlessly. However I suggest you purchase finer teeth blades for a neater job. The ripping blades that come with the saw are good but are coarser and therefore leave a rougher cut edge.

Take this with a grain of salt because I've never had one before but I quite like this jig saw. It's very easy to use and the only improvement would be it being wireless -- but I bought it for the price I did because it was wired. Still, absolutely gets the job done.

I purchased this to replace a very old black and decker jigsaw. I previously purchased a more expensive jigsaw which although it was slightly faster (more RPMs) it did not cut accurately. I returned that one and purchased this one instead. It is lightweight, comfortable to use and extremely simple to operate.
