I purchased this to replace a very old black and decker jigsaw. I previously purchased a more expensive jigsaw which although it was slightly faster (more RPMs) it did not cut accurately. I returned that one and purchased this one instead. It is lightweight, comfortable to use and extremely simple to operate. This is a really nice saw. 90 percent of my tools are dewalt but I took a chance on this and am pleasantly surprised at the smooth operation and the dial for straight or curvy cuts is helpful
