The cooler was well packaged and box lifts straight up for removal by cutting the shipping straps. I went for the 26 bottle capacity, but as my picture shows there are five racks of four bottles each, so 20 bottles stowed properly, and maybe you can cram six more in the bottom compartment that must share space with the compressor housing, so the bottles must be perpendicular. I used the wooden racks from my prior broken cooler, as the steel racks that come with this unit scrape the top of the bottles; they do not provide sufficient room for a standard wine bottle. My second picture shows the mounting feet, or lack thereof. The front has leveling legs, but the rear sits on a sharp metal rail that has no adjustment, and worse yet, scratches my wooden flooring. It was a simple matter of attaching felt furniture sliders to this metal rail as pictured to prevent floor damage, but why not provide this cheap solution at the factory? I like the continuous thermostat that has markings for white or red, and the blue LED lighting. I expect the standard compressor technology and B&D brand to last longer than my prior five year no-name wine cooler. ... show more

    • Getting 14 bottles in cooler depends on size of bottle.
Size: 14 Bottles Style: Fridge
The size of your bottles will effect how many bottles you can get in. First off , to get bottles to sit correctly in the top rack you need to drop it down to second rack support. The 14 bottle cooler has a metal plate in the back that is bent over towards the front of the cooler. If the top rack is too high then the bottles will hit the edge of the plate and not be able to seat fully back and allowing the door to close. This placement then effects the placement of the second rack. If you place it lower to allow larger bottles to be placed on the second shelf then there the space from the second rack to the bottom cage is too small to slip a bottle or anything else in. Placing it high enough to allow the use of the bottom section limits the size of the bottles you can place there to slimmer one. Out of 11 bottles of wine that I had I was able to put the 4 largest one in the top rack. Then I was only able to put 4 of the thinner bottles on the second, middle shelf. There was not enough room to place a 5th bottle there though I was able to slip in a bottle of beer. In the bottom section I was able to place 3 bottles, horizontal, across the bottom. If I'd have had more bottles they would have had to have been stacked on top of the bottom 3. I was able to put in a few cans of beer beside the bottles at the end. Overall I was able to easily place 11 bottles of wine in this cooler. I would have had to put bottles on top of other bottles to get 14 in. Another thing to note is the poor placement of the thermostat for this cooler. It is a knob placed in the back of the cooler. To see it you'll either need to pull the cooler out or lean over the cooler and look at the back. With this placement you will not be able to make easy changes. Unit is quiet and seems to keep a decent level of cooling. For the price paid it is adequate if you don't keep much wine around. I think it's best for 8 to 9 bottles of wine with the bottom section used for cans of beer or soda. ... show more

Setup was quick and easy. Just two leveling "feet" in the front, remove tape from the racks, plug it in, set the temp and it's ready to go. It did arrive with a couple of very small dents at the top of the door and at the top of the fridge, but my husband and I discussed and decided not to send the fridge back. The dents don't interfere with the operation and the fridge began cooling immediately. It would have been lots more trouble to send it back and receive another one. ... show more

This little thing is LOUD. So loud, in fact, that anyone who has come into the room where it is located has mentioned it. It's not just the hum of the motor running, either, there is a grumbling sound as it cools and this slamming sound when it stops cooling. Also, the controls to change the temperature are on the BACK of the unit where all the guts are. It's ridiculous. If it weren't such a hassle, I'd probably return it. Luckily, I'm only using it to store bugs for my reptiles, but, yeah, maybe keep looking... ... show more
