  • Great for .12 acre lot!
Style: 3-in-1 Mower Only
My old trusty Black and Decker rechargeable lawn mower finally stopped charging and with only a 30x18 ft lawn I decided to give this tool a try. I love that it took only about 10 minutes to put together, and is lightweight and easy to use. The battery is also easy to insert and remove. The mower is a perfect size and has plenty of power to mow, edge, and cut down any weeds in the side yards on one battery as long as the lawn hasn't grown too tall; then the second battery is needed. I don't yet know how often the string spool will need replacement but the spool compartment was easy to open. It takes about 4.5 hours to charge an empty battery which could be better but overall this multifunction mower/trimmer actually makes yardwork fun and quick! ... show more

  • Light weight and works better than I expected!
Style: 3-in-1 Mower Only
I live in Phoenix on an acre parcel and most of it is in desert landscape. Therefore no formal lawn to mow. Yaaa. However when it rains here the weeds grow, well like weeds. Fast and furious. This year we had lots of rain and lots of weeds. I've been running a battery powered weed eater every day for a week or so. My back is aching from twisting sideways back and forth so it was time to look for a better solution. I figured how about a small battery powered lawn mower and then I found this thing at about half the cost. So figuring I'd probably junk it after a couple tries I decided to give it a try. Really glad I did. Soon as it arrived I put it together and out I went. It had just rained again and everything was wet but I had to try it. Worked perfectly. Knocked down and chewed up everything I ran it over and no extra back pain as a bonus. I charged up the batteries( comes with 2) overnight and set out to do a good cleanup the next day. This thing is a real delight. It runs about 20 minutes on each battery and since the batteries are fairly small you can carry the spare one in your pocket. another thing about the batteries is the way they eject from the tool. Push the button on the battery and it pops out of the tool's battery compartment. I mention this because removing the battery from my other "green" weed eater is a real chore You have to push in 2 tabs, one on each side of the battery, and forcibly pull it from the tool. My wife can't even manage doing it and I barely can, often resorting to prying it loose with a screwdriver while pushing the tabs with both hands. The black and decker baterries just eject with 1 hand by pushing the button, I love it. When you get close to a fence or wall and the platform won't get close enough, the weed wacker removes from the deck instantly by stepping on a lever on the deck and lifting the handle of the weed wacker forward and up. To return it back in the deck reverse the process, simple and easy. Keep in mind this is a regular string trimmer. It is not a bladed lawn mower and does not do the job of a bladed lawn mower It is a string trimmer on wheels. because you push it similar to vacuming a carpet , front and back, front and back, instead of constantly twisting sideways it doesn't put the strain on your arms and back liike a regular string trimmer does. It does not mulch as fine as a mower would and if you have tall weeds or grass as I did you will need to make several passes, as you would with any string trimmer except you don't have to hold it up, just push it back and forth. I have not had to replace the line yet so I cannot comment on that, except to say looking at it, it looks like the exact same process as the other 2 trimmers I have. To clear the bottom of the deck I simply remove the trimmer and wash out the deck with a hose. its been coated with wet grass almost every time I finish. I'm sure dry shorter vegetation will cut much easier. I'm cutting damp weeds and bermuda grass about knee high. The deck is light weight plastic but seems durable enough. If the deck should deteriorate and I have to replace it, the replacement cost of the set is about the same as a different manufacture's string trimmer alone. but I'll worry about that if it happens. so far I have no regrets whatsoever. ... show more

  • Go in with reasonable expectations, and you probably won't be disappointed.
Style: 3-in-1 Mower Only
I purchased this cordless 3 in 1 mower/trimmer/edger to handle some areas of my yard that can't be reached with my gas mower, and some areas of my yard that simply grow much faster than the bulk of yard. Overall, my goal was to avoid having to pull out and use my old gas mower as frequently as I was. For this purpose, this little guy was worth the money. Now for the issues. 1) The trigger has no option/locking mechanism for running the trimmer continuously, you must compress the trigger the entire time you are using it, and the hand fatigue is REAL. 2) The battery life and charging time is a bit sad. While the unit comes with 2 batteries, they each took about 5 hours to charge and only lasted 15-20 minutes for me. You can purchase the corded option, my yard is simply too large. You can also purchase better batteries and a rapid charging unit (charges in about 40 minutes) separately. Yep, it sucks to have to do this, but it is an option. If you already have a better B&D charger and higher amp B&D battery, you're good to go. They'll work with this 3 in 1. If not, a cheaper option to the B&D charger https://www.amazon.com/Powilling-Replacement-Lithium-Ion-Lithium-ion-PORTER-CABLE/dp/B07B8BPPR2/ref=asc_df_B07B8BPPR2/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309763890402&hvpos=1o2&hvnetw=g&hvrand=13189420919492534020&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9012343&hvtargid=pla-571578809678&psc=1 Longer lasting battery https://www.amazon.com/Sankeup-Replacement-Battery-LBXR20-OPE-LB2X4020-OPE/dp/B07M98RTDB/ref=asc_df_B07M98RTDB/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=332015048282&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3260096580133905885&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9012343&hvtargid=pla-691763262154&psc=1 3) I had some issues with the mower dock popping off of the trimmer while I was using it. However, this may be due to how I was using it. I'm not the most delicate of flowers, and my tendency to bully the turns and lift the entire unit to move it to new areas (rather than simply rolling it) is probably the real issue. Reasonable expectations: This "mower" is a plastic string trimmer, with a plastic trim line, and sits on a plastic wheeled base. It is INTENDED for light duty. It won't be powerful. There is simply no electric or battery powered yard tool that can beat a gas motor when it comes to power. The trade-off...it's much lighter-weight, this was more important than power to me. Using this 3 in 1 on thick, tall, wet grass is probably going to kill the battery (and your trimmer line) much faster. Logic dictates this. In the end, the pros outweigh the cons for my use. If you have a small yard, or one with tricky areas, and want an option that is light-weight and more convenient than a traditional gas mower, this "mower" will probably work for you. I'll definitely end up having to buy higher amp batteries and a better charger for it. Again, this sucks, but for the convenience, it's worth it to me. ... show more
