This light is a nice addition to my tool bag. I have the Black & Decker Matrix system tools, and they share the same battery as this light. Since I already have several of those 20V batteries, and I tend to keep them charged at all times (you never know when a home repair is going to need doing, after all) I should always have access to a good work light with lots of run time. Just keep in mind that you get ONLY the light, so that if you don't already have the 20 volt batteries that this unit needs you'll have to pick up one or more separately. The batteries connect to and disconnect from the light easily, in the same fashion as they connect to the tools in the Matrix collection. The head on this light adjusts so that it can be directed wherever I may need it. The batteries these use will provide hours of bright light, and of course can be recharged to be ready when needed again. The handle is comfortable and the unit is very light, but of course gains some heft once a battery is connected. There is no brightness adjustment - it's either "on," or "off." Still, this should be a very useful addition to my tool bag.

The media could not be loaded. This is the perfect compliment to the Black & Decker Matrix Quick Connect System for homeowners, hobbyists, & light contractor use! It's a very simple tool kit and very easy to work with. It's small, compact, lightweight. It's priced very well and is of extremely high value compared to so many alternatives. It's not the same quality as a heavy duty Milwaukee or DeWalt unit but its also not as pricey either; its a great value. The adjustable head stays exactly where you want it and has lots of preset angles. Its very bright and will make all dark areas filled with plenty of light to work. It love that it uses the same battery as all other 20V tools. Overall, I highly recommend the BDCF20 light and the Black & Decker Matrix Quick Connect system to all homeowners, do-it-yourself-ers, hobbyists, and for light contractor use. Invest in this wonderful toolkit to save yourself time and money!

Not quite what I expected, but not bad either. It's surprisingly light, doesn't inspire confidence but the materials feel decent - not like brittle cheap plastic. The rubberized handle and such feel well made. As a light, it's not overly bright and the beam isn't very focused. These are good things as it lends itself to lighting up a work area (small work area, not a room) without being blinding and without a bright focus spot. My Dewalt for example, is blazingly bright and very focused, this creates a small spot of intense light surrounded by darkness. This Black & Decker serves me better around my workbench. The pivoting head is a nice touch, allowing you to position the light and hold itself there while you work, super helpful. It worked great under the sink cabinet while doing plumbing and during a basement renovation when the power was turned off. As an aside, even though it's more of a shop light, the wide area illumination works great in a tent or around a campsite as well. Gives it a few extra bonus points. We've been grabbing this for all sorts of chores, not just home repairs. It's proving to be the "go to" light, may have to get another. As for run time, it's long - very long. I didn't time it, but it lasted a full 10 hour day in the basement providing the only light I had so it was on the entire time. That's impressive. Charged it that night and it did it again the next day. So far so good.

Good little work light. not a flashlight, in so far as it does not have a focused beam. Really more a portable work light, which is exactly what I was looking for. Stanley Black and Decker (there is no such thing as just Black and Decker any more, regardless of the "brand") puts a small tab in this device to prevent Porter Cable batteries from fitting. Horrible business practice, but it is what it is. Anyway, it is fairly obvious where the PC battery hits the tab. So you can either remove the tab (exacto knife, and it was gone), or dremmel down the battery. I chose the tool mod, as it was much simpler. Remember, 20v is 20v. There is no magic Porter Cable, or Dewalt, etc. The marketing people (not engineers) do this to make you buy extra batteries, etc. Shameful. I do not have any dewalt 20v, so am not sure if they too would fit (probably would, it is just yet another Stanley B+D brand.

In the past, I had a collection of lights for my Back & Decker 18 volt batteries. Now that I have moved to the 20 volt lithium ion batteries, I purchase two lights. They are not a spot light & do not throw light great distances. They are great for illuminating a room during a power outage or great for a work light. Yes, they do make a great spot light and will never run out of power. I used one of my lights under my sink to fix a leaky faucet and it worked great! I've used this same light to check on livestock. Great light! If you have Black & Decker 20 volt batteries, get a BDCF20 20-volt Flashlight.

This light is not as heavy duty as the previous version and does not have as many lights. Because of the reduction in lights the flashlight does not illuminate as well and it seems cheaply made. Will not buy another when this one stops working.

I love this little flashlight. It is very lightweight, even with the battery on. It has seemed to be pretty rugged, too. I have used it on a number of jobs, sometimes for long periods (over 1 hour continuous), and it hardly uses any juice, and does not get hot. I was shocked when I used it on a longer job and put it on the charger, and the charger said the battery was full in a very short time. The best thing about this unit, in my opinion, is the multi-position light head. It moves in about a 280 deg radius. It is very bright. As long as you can set the battery on something flat and swivel the light head, you're in business. I suppose you could also tip this unit on its side or on its nose or backside, but it's very maneuverable. A very good addition to my B&D 20Vmax collection of tools since I already have the string trimmer, limb saw, and chain saw, and now have (4) batteries. The replacement Lithium 20vmax batteries are about $45 each btw, and the flashlight was only about $18 when I bought it.
