  • Keeping Coffee Simple
Color: black/stainless steel
When our very old Black & Decker gave up the ghost I thought it was time to get something a bit fancier so I replaced it with another brand. Huge mistake! That pot lasted three months before the hot plate started to disintegrate and the coffee was lukewarm. Back to Black & Decker! Easy to use, has a timer, has a small footprint, and makes a nice hot pot of very good coffee at an attractive price. Stick with a winner! ... show more

  • It’s so worth the money
Color: black/stainless steel
It has a good look, not too bulky as it sits on my kitchen counter. It works really well. I’m a coffee lover and I’ve been using this coffee maker for over a year and I have no complaints. It makes great coffee, and easy to clean. It keep the pot of coffee hot for 2 hours and it has an automatic shut off for people like me that would forget to turn it off. It also has a timer so you can wake up to the smell of coffee. I highly recommend this product. ... show more

  • Simple and effective are GOOD!
Color: black/stainless steel
The B and D, model CM1160B, is simple and easy to use, and brews a tasty carafe of coffee as well. Setting a later time to brew is not complicated. Four steps and you're done. Mine had coffee waiting for me this morning exactly as I had programmed it to do last night. I have read reviews about a "plastic taste." Yes! You can get that taste if you don't clean it well. Read the instructions! I looked at other brewers, some "smart" ones, too, for $100+. Don't bother with them, unless you're going after neighborhood bragging rights. Net cost for B and D: $37 and some change; that's about $1.50/month for a two-year use-life. Final thought: I love the smooth, ergonomic carafe handle that fits my hand perfectly. ... show more

  • Makes a lot of coffee and noise
Color: black/stainless steel
I love almost everything about it. I can make a lot of coffee or a little, it is easy to clean, the clock and program settings make my mornings easier. Nothing like having a fresh pig of coffee ready to go as soon as I wake up! However, no matter how many times I read the instructions or go back and see what is wrong, it makes this loud pop/banging sound while it brews. It sounds like the drip head is just banging up against the top of the water chamber each time it suctions water up. It is so loud that sometimes I think it's going to pop open. ... show more

  • Not super fancy but it's 12 cups and works well.
Color: black/stainless steel
TLDR: It's not fancy looking. It has a 12 cup pot and a reservoir that's easy to fill without spilling water everywhere. I recommend for consumers of large quanities of drip coffee but not for people trying to "swank" up their kitchen/office space. Pros: It has a timer so you can set it up before you go to bed and not be in that irritating "I need coffee before I'm coordinated enough to make coffee!!!!" situation I have sometimes found myself in some mornings. The pot is huge. The reservoir for the water is wide enough, that I can literally just dump the pot over and fill it in a second or two without spilling a drop on the counter. That's been a pet peeve of mine for the last several coffee makers I've owned. Well done Black and Decker! Well done! Cons: It's not fancy looking. It won't turn off on it's own. Like. Ever. Left it on for 2 days when I left town. Was still on when I got back. coffee completely dried up and burnt to the bottom of the pot. But, didn't get hot enough to harm the counter and I don't think it was an inherent fire hazard any more than leaving the tv on when you're not in the room. Just a heads up, if you are like me and will forget to turn it off, it won't remember for you and you'll have a pot to scrub. All in all, I like it and feel it was a good purchase for me. If you're like me and just want consistent coffee in volume and easy filling, this is a good setup to get. ... show more

  • Worth the price
Color: black/stainless steel
My husband was needing a new pot. So I got this one for him. He says that it makes good coffee and likes that it's programmable. I don't drink coffee so I am going on his opinion

  • Better Than Mr. Coffee
Color: black/stainless steel
I have been buying Mr. Coffee coffee makers for years. When my last one broke, I tried to buy another, but it was out of stock. So I decided to try this one. I much prefer it to Mr. Coffee. It is easier to clean for one thing and easier to use. I actually don't make coffee in mine - I use tea bags. Does an excellent job. I do have one issue. I wish it came out hotter. It is fine when it first comes out but it cools off quickly. ... show more

  • makes coffee but has some design flaws
Color: black/stainless steel
After years of using only Mr. Coffee, low end to middle of the road models, this is different. I chose it because with my very hard water, I did not want some "permanent" filter system. I also happen to own many of the basket style paper filters. This model has a removeable filter basket that uses the flat bottom basket style of paper filter. The carafe has markings that do not agree with the side of the machine when it says 12 the machine says 10. I like the carafe for pouring well and having a very comfortable handle. The on switch turns on a green light, that is obvious, assuming you are not standing too far to the side. The clear panel to see the amount of water are only on the right side which for me is a problem. This make no sense because the most open side to pour the water is on the left. Where my coffee machine is located it is very hard to see the right side. I'm used to makers with water viewing ports on both sides. Being black in color, in a dimly lit early morning kitchen, the water level when looking down inside is impossible to see. The next negative seems like a major design flaw. The lid collects FAR more condensation and moisture than any Mr. Coffee I've owned. The lid has no lip or inside rim to sit down into the reservoir as my Mr. Coffee had. ALL the water on this lid runs out the back, down the machine and onto the counter top! I have found a partial solution, which is to crack the lid the night before and let some evaporate overnight. It is not a perfect solution however. The next negative is, unlike Mr. Coffee where there is a rotating arm that holds that basket down, the only thing holding this basket down is the lid. It has a bit of a molded in catch but I am sure if and when the lid warps from heat, it is unlikely it will catch. While the grab a cup pause feature is designed to work via a spring on the bottom of the filter basket, this one does not work as well as all the Mr. Coffee ones did. This one always drops coffee on the hot plate to sizzle and burn on. Not cool I probably would not buy this again. ... show more
