I am really enjoying the continuing saga of Patty, AKA Potato Woman. No matter how hard she tries to fit in, the bodies keep appearing. What else is a self-respecting mystery writer to do except figure out whodunit? The characters are becoming very real for me, I share some of the same issues as they struggle with. Many different senior topics are addressed in the story. The dialogue is touching and funny at times. Action and scene-setting contribute a lot to the story.     • My favorite so far!
I always forget how much I love this series until I read another installment! Birds, Bees, and RVs is my favorite so far and I'll admit it: I got totally immersed in an association president election at a fictional 55+ retirement RV park in Florida. Reading Patty's casual thoughts and banter is still a hoot-and-a-half as she does her best to fit in her corner of the park. But even when she isn't looking for trouble, it seems to find her...bad for her, good for us! The supernatural aspects are always a great touch, but the interpersonal relationships and behind the scenes gossip and maneuverings all just feel so real. Even in all the fun, there's some real heartbreak here, too. I'm eager to find out what happens next! ... show more

    • Tyrants come in many different forms
A good read that left the actual mystery until the end of the book. Yes it was still a good read but it just made me feel that the murder was a rush job plus I really didn't like the ending. It was the obvious one but nevertheless it didn't mean that I had to like it. The characters though are a delight as ever but is she loosing the edge of cynicism and derision that I loved about her from the first book. It also shows the ways that people become dictators and hold on at all costs. Take new residents, a leadership challenge, a dating site, secrets, ghosts and a desire to remain in charge. Stir well with obsession and show no remorse. Result equals murder and an attempted murder. Will all survive to tell the tale? ... show more

    • Another awesome book!
Mary Lu hits another one out of the park with this one. I love, love, love her characters and she tells a great story. If you want a fun read with A-mazing characters read this and the rest of the Trailer Park Travails series. I cannot wait for the next one to come out!

    • Another quick, fun read in quirky cozy mystery series
I enjoy this fun cozy mystery series set in a Florida trailer park. Our resident amateur detective, Patty, is back with her friends to solve yet another murder in their small close-knit community. And yes, jokes are made about the ominous regularity with which mayhem strikes their little neighborhood, but in many ways, the mysteries at the heart of each book in the series is almost beside the point. It is the author's sharp observations of the petty politics of neighborhood rules and governing organizations, the loneliness, challenges, and regrets of aging, and the simple joys of even the most unlikely friendships that make these books appealing. This is a short, fast read, a nice palate cleanser between weightier books. For all of Patty's grumbling and anti-social tendencies, I wouldn't mind having her for a neighbor and enjoy spending time with her through these stories. ... show more
