Pictures are very clear especially with HD option. AI is very accurate in identification and is able to differentiate between a Purple Finch and a House Finch for example. Highly recommend using the enhanced subscription which costs five bucks a month extra for a few months. The number of pictures captured is greatly increased and clarity is noticeably better. You will more quickly get a feel for which birds are using the feeder regularly and resolution is very much enhanced. The camera battery holds a charge for several days even with a constant flow of birds visiting the feeder. The only negatives with the feeder is its small size which requires filling twice a day if there is an abundance of birds and it’s all plastic construction. Squirrels can quickly chew through the plastic and they have ruined the back of my feeder where the seeds are added. Customer service was wonderful and sent the required parts at no charge including shipping. I have been a serious birder for fifty years or so and have learned a lot about different species that I did not know previously. Recommend highly.

I got one of these as a gift and so far I've enjoyed it tremendously. Everything came beautifully packed in the box and the instructions were super clear on both how to set up the device and how to take care of it so you get birds to come to it. The camera itself is built like a brick, which makes it easy to insert and remove from the feeder itself, and the images so far are crystal clear. The feeder also feels super sturdy and the provided cup for loading the feed is very useful, as are the rails on the rear door that guide the seeds in. I mounted it using the metal hanger which holds it up just fine and is very easy to remove for taking it down. You can feel how much effort went into making a simple yet profoundly elegant device. The app is the same story: the device paired with almost no input from me and it just worked pretty much out of the box. The UI is sleek and refined while avoiding looking techbro-cliché, which is a very welcome change of pace in an increasingly appified world. For turbo-nerds like me, it also works great in Home Assistant, using a custom integration from the HA Community Store. I wish we could get an official integration someday! Very impressed with this device overall, what a lovely present! Definitely looking forward to seeing more from Bird Buddy.

Bird Buddy advertisement is not 100% correct. You will NOT get video each time a a bird comes. There are settings so you can get more videos but never 100%. It also takes sometimes hours to get the video on your app. It is NOT like you get to see it minutes after it captures it. Also most of my birds like to hang on the sides of the feeder vs on the red pad they have so I only get maybe a head shot of the birds. The lens doesn't angle out to get more, just straight ahead. If you use heavier sead the feeder tilts backwards. They even say in the manual you may need to put your post at an angle to compensate. There is a LED light to see when it's syncing/on/off etc. You can NOT see it. It even says in the manual you may have to got to a darken room. Seriously? The on/off button is about 2 inches long like a perch a bird could sit on but it's so high no bird will sit on it. The design of this is really bad. You also can't open the videos in 3rd party software so you can trim the video. The only good thing about this is the video quality is good but it really isn't all it's cracked up to be and I wouldn't spend my money on it if I were you.

Got this for my retired Dad. It has been great! He has been sending us links to view the videos when interesting critters have shown up, and has had fun naming the birds and such. I thought it was a little expensive, but all the tech abilities and the enjoyment my dad has gotten out of it has been worth the price. He was able to set it up himself easily. It seems sturdy-they live at the beach so time will tell with the salt air and wind. Super cute next to their patio.

This is an updated review, the one I left previously was a negative one because of how the delivery was handled. The customer service helped so much and got my issue solved quick enough that I was still able to give this as a gift on Christmas. The product takes a little figuring out when you're trying to connect it to the app and it costs a hefty amount for a subscription if you're wanting to share your live feed with others. It has been a fun experience so far seeing the few birds that have visited our bird feeder and I look forward to the warmer months when I'm able to get a lot more visitors. Thank you for great customer service and a neat product!

This is so fun to see all the different birds and holds over 32 oz cup of seed feed ! The pictures are high quality and will ID birds ! Only problem is you have to charge every 3 days ! They need a solar charger ! We bought some for birthday gifts and they loved it too. Yes will buy again when they get a solar and and larger seed container !

The cons: Setting this up was super frustrating and I thought I’d received a dud. Make sure you have a block for USB-C charger. You may think it’s not charging but just leave it on the charger. I took a couple of days for my camera to finally charge. You may have to troubleshoot the bird buddy app and delete/restart the app multiple times before it finally connects to WiFi. It will connect if your product is too far from your router. To get high quality photos and be able to name your birds, you’ll have to get the 59.99/year premium membership subscription. Only one main person can have access to the live feed and be able to name birds, even in the same household; unless you get the 89.99/year family premium membership. The pros: it took about a week for birds to come to my feeder and now I have daily visitors from various species. I’ve personally enjoyed learning about the birds! Lots of info you can learn about species from the Artificial intelligence. You can even send holiday cards from your feeder! The battery lasts a little over a week. Once I found a spot my router was in range, I’ve had no problems with connectivity. Easy to clean and fill!
