The media could not be loaded. Pros: very quiet, ultra clear, practical dimensions, easy to set up, bright light, sleek design, would look good with a variety of interior design styles. Cons: light isn’t dimmable (worried it’s too bright for my betta), limited access via cover in the top, pump only has one speed, view distorted at curved corners. This is a great small aquarium, my betta seems to be very happy since moving in. It wasn’t apparent from the description and photos that I would be able to run the heater cord through the lid, but there is a small hole just behind the power cord connecting the light that fits the heater cord perfectly. When my two boys asked for betta fish, I started looking into desktop aquariums, since I didn't want to keep fish in tiny bowls. After a lot of debate, I decided on the Biorb Flow 15 and ordered two of them. Wow, are they pretty once they're set up and all decked out with plants and accessories! I originally thought our only option would be a cheap-looking old style aquarium, but the Flow is so cool looking, it actually adds to the decor of their rooms. But pretty is only good if it works, right? Set up was a breeze, really couldn't have been simpler. I bought Hagen 25 watt mini heaters for the tanks since the Biorb heater kit is so expensive, and they work great. Clamped the tubing with paper clips to minimize the flow of the filter (bettas don't like to be tossed around) and was pretty much ready to go. A few days later, we brought home our fish. In the first hour they were out of the bags, we had a disaster. The Biorb ceramic media is very large, and if you aren't careful to lay it properly, you can wind up with some fairly large gaps. One betta went exploring down in the media and got wedged in the corner of the tank, between the media and the glass. I got him out, but he was pretty shell-shocked. Fortunately, he recovered within a day and is doing fine. I worried about the size of the tanks, since they're on the small side, but these little guys seem very pleased with their new homes. I've added lots of plants, grass rings, Feng-shui pebbles, topiary balls, and leaf hammocks, so they have numerous hiding places and things to swim around and investigate. I think the lighting is just fine, and the opening is more than big enough to do whatever you need to do in there. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is the price. After the initial expense (which isn't small), you pretty much have to purchase all Biorb accessories if you want them to work with the tank. And they're pricy. It took three packages of pebbles per tank to get the look I wanted, three topiary balls apiece, two grass rings, and three plants (each). At Biorb prices, that's a chunk of change. But I'm not sorry, because they look great and our new little friends seem to be thriving! ... show more

I absolutely love this tank. This is my 4th BiOrb tank. I really like this best because it has a larger hole in the top so I can fit a bigger centerpieces in it. This gives you more options for decor. I like that it has a full view on three different sides. I like that the one side is black to camouflage the heater. This tank is home to my samurai betta, snowflake, he seems to like it. All the biOrbs are so easy to set up. I think they are so classy looking. I’m hoping to get a bigger one some day. ... show more

I want to say I love this tank, I was excited and wanted to buy more from the company because I loved the style. I ordered a brand new one, and was sent a used tank. I could tell it was used because the bags and boxes for the parts were already opened and empty, there was a few pieces of gravel not like the ones included in the bottom, and the cords were tied together. It still works so I would have ignored except it had some huge dark scuff marks on one side and even one on the filter holder itself inside the tank, not to mention light scratches and scuffs all around it. Also there was no filter included, just an empty filter holder. It does work and I decided though disappointed in the grey scoff marks and small scratches on other parts to still use it. If new I would have loved it, and felt it was worth the $80-90 I payed for it. Have to say I’m just shocked how obviously it came damaged and used. No hiding it, not even putting stuff back in boxes, just a scuffed dirty tank and tangled wires with empty bags and miny boxes. If I payed for new and got used that’s pretty bad, seems like as soon as they got a return they just stuck a label on it and sent it to me without checking it. Didn’t even arrive in an Amazon or normal shipping box, just the fish tank box with a hole in it and taped more to cover openings. I like it but it’s nothing amazing, just another cute style of a plastic tank, but the light and filter quality is good and the wood stones it comes with are nice too. Update: Weather the remote is suppose to be included or not, I think selling it at almost $50 is insane. You get these remotes included in most $20 command strip sets. With the used and damaged quality of tank I got and the remote, I feel this company is pretty overpriced for the quality you get. ... show more
