  • Clean as can be! Works fine. Easy enough to install.
Size: Elongated Style: Slim 1 Pattern Name: Toilet Seat
Originally posted 10/14/17 UPDATED BELOW. After returning from a trip in Asia where three of my hotels had electric bidets, I decided it was time to catch up to the cleanliness standards of more advanced societies. I had experience with a variety of seats and options and decided that the only things I care about in a washlet are: 1. Warm water (It took me a day to figure out that one of the seats I used had the heater turned off!!!) 2. Adjustable sprayer position 3. Adjustable spray pressure 4. Warm seat The Slim ONE has it all, and a few things I don't need - like a turbo feature and the bowl light. More expensive models will do things like lift up the lid automatically and blow dry your butt, but really - so what? I decided I did not want a remote controlled unit since two of the wahslets I used on my trip had remote control issues. The Slim ONE was easy enough to install. Slip a couple of rubber cased nuts into the toilet's seat holes then bolt in a plastic guide and the seat locks into that. The washlet comes with a T split and a supply hose to connect the washlet - but if your current connector from the water valve to the toilet is not the 1/2" standard that comes out the the T split, a trip the the hardware store or plumbing supply might be in order. There is a difference between a 1/2 threaded connection and 1/2 inch flare. It's confusing. I did waste time at the local hardware store, they steered me into buying fittings that did not work. The plumbing supply got it right the first time, but I had a hard time explaining what I needed at both places. I paid an electrician to wire an outlet next to the toilets. I was surprised by how much current these things draw. It is enough to dim/flicker the lights on any 15A circuit as the water heater cycles on and off. The washlet has a tank for storing warm water so we don't have to deal with the insult of a shocking cold-start. I installed two of these seats and they have been up and running for more a couple weeks so far. They work fine. The water pressure can be adjusted to spray much harder than I want or set to a gentle, comfortable yet effective stream. The water heater has three settings and although I like the warmest, a lower one would be fine. The heated seat is smaller than a regular toilet seat - it is slightly more narrow and definitely not as "deep" but the smaller fit means that I'm more likely to be sitting in the same place each time I turn the sprayer on, so the aim is usually true. If it's not, a little wiggle hits the bull's eye. The washlet runs for about 60 seconds then turns itself off. I usually turn it off before that. The seat heater seems to have a couple of colder spots, but they are not very noticeable after a time or two. I would like to have backlit buttons for operating the seat in the dark since the bowl light does not suffice. But since I only use two buttons - on and off - I have been able to feel for them successfully (they are basically flush with a very slight bump that is not designed to be felt). I've considered sticking a piece of tape or something on the controls for tactile signal, but might not need it. The basic technology in these devices seems pretty standard over a variety of brands and models. I am curious to see how long they will last before malfunctioning. I will revisit this review if I have any problems, but for the time being I'm sitting pretty clean. UPDATE 3/2018 REMOVE 1 STAR - from 5 to 4. Both of my units have developed the same nasty habit: when they retract, they spray a gratuitous "goodbye drench" up into my privates. I called BioBidet customer service and they offered to take the units in for a warranty repair (up to a year from the date of purchase). This is a four to six week process. I think the problem is due to calcium buildup on the wand and surrounding parts. I did notice a calcium ring around the wand that is probably where water sits and evaporates when the wand is fully retracted. It seems to make the gratuitous spray a little weaker when I clean that off. If I'm right, any warranty fix will only be temporary, so I'd be very interested to hear if anyone else has noticed the same problem and had a long-term success with a repair. I've decided to wait and play the "pop off the pot" game trying to wipe up and get off before my balls get soaked. Sadly, merely grabbing the guys and pulling them up in anticipation does not keep them from harm's way. Perhaps the better solution is to not worry about the little sprinkle and for me and my cotton boxers to just suck it up. I recently stayed in a hotel with a Toto washlet and there is definitely a difference in the stream quality and precision. Toto has a noticeably better aim and feel. In my IMNSHO that's certainly not worth 2X the price. I did put pieces of tape on the "bidet" and "off" buttons. That makes them a cinch to operate in the dark. UPDATE 10/22/20 One of my units has stopped spraying. The wand extends, but it just hums to itself when it used to spray. It was the unit in my home that by far got the most use.. I'll call it a win that it lasted 3 years. I thought about removing a second star, but at this point, it won't make any difference and I was pleased that it's lasted this long anyway. UPDATE 11/1/2020 I replaced the broken unit with the same model and all the brackets and fittings are the same. It only took a minute or two to swap the units out. But now; what to do with the broken one! Also of note, the new unit does not gratuitously soak my scrotum, at least not yet. I'll update when the soaking begins. ... show more

  • Great bidet at a great price, don't forget to get the adapter.
Size: Elongated Style: Slim 1 Pattern Name: Toilet Seat
Great introductory bidet. I've own several in my house, mostly TOTO Washlets but I tried this since it provides enough functionalities at a very attractive price. It has been around 2 weeks since I've installed in my kids bathroom and they love it. (Actually, they don't use the main bidet functions but they just love the night light.) I also use their bathroom from time to time so I got to test it and love every aspect of the bidet. I've noticed that on energy save mode, the seat becomes cold (although set to low) at first but it is rather fast for it to warm up, so I find it pretty economical. I've taken out one star, since as many of the reviewers have written, it didn't fit into my toilet line without an adapter. Since many people have written that, I'm assuming the default line/adapter that comes with it is not the main one in the U.S. It was frustrating since my trip to local home depot didn't have the adapter in stock, so I had to wait additional day or two for Amazon. If not sure, I'd recommend you to purchase the adapter just in case the original one doesn't fit yours. The one I got on Amazon is the one below: Metal T-adapter with Shut-off Valve, 3-way Tee Connector, Chrome Finish, for Bidet4me Hand Held Bidet ... show more

  • Almost Perfect!
Size: Elongated Style: Slim 2 Pattern Name: Toilet Seat
With this ongoing Amazon discount, and after reading all the reviews I just could not resist. After 2 weeks of daily use, I am overall pretty satisfied with the product's build and ease of use. I would've definitely gotten a TOTO a few years ago but it's out of my price range, so the Slim Two is perfect in its affordability and high quality. Pros: - Easy installation - Great sturdy build, especially the heated seat; no creaking/squeaky noises at all - Remote control (I was initially going for the Slim One (without remote), but the Slim Two (with remote) was less expensive and it's also very nice to not have to twist around to reach the console on non-wireless models); also, the remote comes with a wall mounted dock which you can stick onto the wall with the included adhesive (included) or use screws (not included). - Pressure options and nozzle positioning is perfect -- I don't understand why some users have reported problems. Perhaps your hose connection is not secure or the emitter is blocked? Also, Turbo Mode pressure is TOO strong -- I still haven't found the need to use this mode. It's so strong that it causes spray-back and leaves the back of the seat with water beads. - Nightlight (though turning it off is not intuitive at all (the "+" button requires a long press of 3 seconds). The nightlight should be light sensitive, triggered by a proximity sensor or simply redesign the remote to include a dedicated nightlight button). - The water heater works great; lasts more than 60 seconds. The water is not scalding hot, but hot enough for a thorough cleanse. IMO, 30-60 seconds is optimal for a thorough cleanse unless you have a really wide area to work on in which case you double press "wash" to activate oscillation for a wide clean. - Easy installation guide (everyone writes that no guide or manual is included -- my order came with two manuals: a regular installation guide and a quick start guide). - Toilet paper use and expenditure is cut in half. Only need a small bit for dabbing excess water. Very nice! Cons: - I needed to purchase a hose reducer to fit the hose nut over the water connection. It was under $5 at Home Depot. - The nightlight could be easier to turn on/off (see above). - The remote interface design is NOT good -- I think BioBidet could take some design cues from TOTO or INAX on good UI design for their remote and also make one universal remote for all their similarly featured models - When I opened the box and pulled the seat out, residual water dribbled out the hose and unit and spilled all over me which was odd because it is a new, unrefurbished model (or is it?) Very strange -- but the unit looks and smells brand new at least so I'm not overly concerned. - I know this is beside the point, but the BioBidet logo needs a total brand overhaul. The typeface used in the words "Bidet" looks like it can't breathe and is squished together, while the "Bio" typeface is relaxed and well-spaced. Consistency will reposition the brand to reflect the brand's high quality products. Overall: At the sale price of $189, I think EVERYONE should have one of these. You will feel super clean after seconds of washing. When I lift off the seat, I feel so clean while everyone else is walking around with dirty, poo-smeared butts. Yuck! Go get one now! Update (October 31, 2018): Now that the weather is cooler, I can understand why the heated seat function is such a helpful feature. It never occurred to me previously just how much temperature affects parts of your body, but now I find that I am more relaxed when the seat is warm and can finish my business faster. It's like when you jump into the cold ocean and everything clams up , the same is true when you sit on an ice cold toilet seat -- it just takes forever to peek out and if you don't get to finish your business, you feel backed up and miserable. In the past, I used to think a warm seat would feel kind of gross (like it was just used by someone) but now that I am more relaxed when I sit down, I just can't go on without this feature. I think it helps you achieve regularity. Update (September 30, 2018): After 30 days of daily use, I would highly recommend the SLIM TWO. The seat is very high quality in terms of construction and function and you will feel so much CLEANER! Update (July 1, 2019): BioBidet Customer Service is top notch. Update (August 12, 2021): The second lid replacement suffered the same fate and the hydraulic right hinge broke again. There is no way to fix it since the plastic bit disintegrates and pulverizes into a hundred pieces. I think BioBidet should find a better material that can withstand the test of frequent opening/closing. Other than the hinge issue (which is not a problem with our Toto), the Slim Two is a great deal. But after reading multiple other reviews citing the same hinge quality issue, I may likely switch to the higher quality Toto C200 which I have in another room and has experienced absolutely no issues. ... show more
