Fed up with spark plugs slipping out of my old sockets, I decided to buy this six-piece kit when it was time to change the spark plugs in my two cars. This kit made the task much easier compared to my previous tools. I'm impressed with how securely the sockets grip the spark plugs during both removal and installation. The swivel feature is particularly handy, ensuring the socket stays in place when the wrench can't be perfectly aligned with the cylinder head opening. These tools seem durable, although they're not impact-rated. Therefore, it's best to use a hand wrench, as intended, rather than an impact wrench or driver. This might explain why some users have reported issues with the magnets coming loose. Overall, this is a solid tool set at a reasonable price and should be the last spark plug socket kit I'll need to buy.

Worked a few times before the magnetic part of the socket got pushed back and wouldn’t pick up spark plugs. Update: Customer service reached out and replaced the bad socket. New one appears to have the same design flaw that magnet can get pushed back if your not careful. So far now I’ve used the sockets a couple of times and seem to be holding up.

With many manufacturers utilizing sparkplug tubes for accessing spark plugs these magnetic sockets are a must! With multiple lengths for your common sizes you should find a combination to use in some of the tightest engine compartments out there. Note the extensions are fixed to the sockets so you won't have the issue of the socket staying with the plug during installation. The magnets in the sockets are quite powerful and appear to be affixed to the socket quite well. So no chance of losing one of the magnet rings or unexpectedly dropping a spark plug during removal or installation. The only flaw I can think of with this socket set is the absence of larger sockets for vintage vehicles and small engines. In summary, if you are on the fence about this set go ahead and get it. The quality is there and the price is nominal at the time of writing this review ($35). If you are a backyard mechanic like me, you won't regret it!
