    • It works alright
This aerator is very easy to setup and use. It comes with the tubing but the tubing has creases from it being in the package that don't want to come out. It still works, despite the creases, but even though I made the tubes equal length the side with creases in the tubing creates more bubbles. I'm not sure why that is, I followed the directions so I'm really puzzled by that. In any case, it works good for the most part and does what it is supposed to do. It comes with a charge already so you can try it out right away. Be sure to put the solar panel somewhere that it will get direct sunlight, otherwise it won't charge very well.     • Nice solar pump, love the pump being integrated.
I am using this as part of a hydroponics setup. I use these bubblers at various reservoirs in the system and they work great! I can't say I was having problems with the plants and that these improved growth, as I didn't wait a whole season before installing them, but there's sound scientific research as early as the 1940s for bubbling water through a hydroponic solution. The specific things I like about this pump: It's integrated with the solar panel! The other one I use has an external pump, which means one more connector that could get wet or corroded. Battery + intermittent mode. This keeps me bubbling overnight with no issues! Benefits I have seen: My hydroponic main tank was developing a layer of scum on top and had a smell as if it was growing bacteria. After installing the solar bubbler on an intermittent setting, the scum went away and the smell returned to normal (basically no smell). ... show more

I run this in my small hydroponic system sump in order to keep the water moving and aerated. It works great, and the solar panel powers the pump with no issues from inside my greenhouse. Works great and love that it runs off sustainable solar power!

Sorry but this product is a joke for $30. I like that it's solar. That's all. The few feet of cheap, thin hose comes kinked and crushed, so basically useless. How do you use it in a pond with so little hose? And although they call it a pond bubbler, it states "Suitable for water up to 50 gallons". Not much of a pond and I can't imagine it's any good for that. If you want to use it in a small minnow bucket or a fishbowl, it might serve your purpose. Other than that, whatever you use it for better be small and you'll need to buy better hose for it. ... show more

Great when it has power, but doesn't seem to be charging unless it is on and when it is on, it doesn't get enough extra power to charge. Granted this is through a window, but has full sun. If this could charge while off it would be great. I got this with the hopes of being able to put one of my sponge filters on this and have the daily sunlight keep it going even if the power went off. Don't think it will be able to consistently carry that load as it seems to switch to intermittant mode when it doesn't get enough power. ... show more

I am using this for a portable bubbler for a bait cooler when fishing. I tested it yesterday and it works quite well, even in partial shade. I would consider this to be more of a aquarium type bubbler, not really for a pond. Maybe a really small one.

I originally got this for my small pond outside, and now also use it for my plants growing in water. I live in sunny Florida so this works well in my case not sure about cloudy places. The tube can be short and thin but worked fine for my application. In addition, it lasted overnight with the pulse option. My fish seem to be pleased my plants too. The solar panel is quality.
